My Thoughts: Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne....Mr. Carter is lackluster now?             Yes, the time has come…for me to blog about Lil Wayne. Of course I don’t think he’s a bad rapper by any means. In fact from 2006 to 2008….. he was one my favorite rappers. I’m going to give you my thoughts on Mr. Carter…             Okay first of all I and most people didn’t think a whole lot of Lil Wayne when he was just coming up on Cash Money Records. When the song Fireman came out, it was official that Lil Wayne was going to be a major rapper in the game. In fact, the Carter II cemented this notion. The album was dope from front to back.             In 2008 before Wayne dropped Carter III came out, it was obvious that Wayne was now one of the best(if not the best rapper)..>_< I know I kwow what about Kanye, and Jay-z??? I think the latter was sti...

300 Rise of an Empire Review

Ok so as you know, i was a huge fan of 300. I thought it was one of 2007's best movies......The sequel is just as visually edifying and gory. I dont wanna give much away, but this movie starts showing you what led up to the events of the first movie....then it basically shows you what was happening elsewhere while the 1st movie went on...then it proceeds from there. The Naval battles are very impressive. Also the new villain is tough. She totally steals the spotlight from the god-King... I give 300 2...part whatever a solid 8.5/10. This is just about as good as the first one.

RIck Ross's Mastermind Review

Ross returns with album #6 …yes he’s currently got 2 more albums than 50 Cent…which is amazing. No this isn’t as good as Teflon Don, but its basically just as good as GFID. Ross doesn’t really try anything too experimental…but there are some really interesting songs up here.  There’s some good guest spots, but Jay-z and Jeezy(Young) steal the show from Ross on those respective songs. Lil Wayne’s verse is forgettable on the last song. I found the Dope B*tch skit laughable but its good to hear those Maybach girls. The good with this album that Ross has no problem making a hit album, but the bad is that its not all that refreshing. Don’t get me wrong Ricky Rosay has come along way since Port of Miami. RUH! New System Score: 74  Old system score:88

Jay-z vs. Nas Recent rivalry

Jay-z vs. Nas Recent Rivalry               For a long time I have considered Shawn Carter aka Jay-z and Nasir Jones to be 2 of the best rappers not only alive….but all time. I’m not trying to favor one over the other, but this particular blog compares their discographies latest additions.               I’m going to do their last 2 solo albums, and their recent collabo albums. Let’s start with their most current works….   Round 1 Category Jay-z Nas Winner Title(is not graded) Magna Carta..Holy Grail Life is Good   Lyrics B+ A Nas Production A- B Jay-z Legacy B A- Nas Songs B- B- Tie Use of Features A- ...

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Oxymoron

This is another dope album from the TDE group. This album is very different from Kendrick Lamar’s GKMC album…..and well that’s because Schoolboy Q is much more gangster type rapper. The album sort of reminds me of Young Jeezy’s debut album for some reason. Both albums are really addictive without being revolutionary. Q’s album has a perfect amount of guests(8 guest assisted songs)…in other words he can carry about half the album on his own. I really like the song with Jay Rock and the one with Kendrick Lamar…which happen to be back to back. The beats are really good too. Complaint wise, some of the topics are a little repetitive, and some songs, like the 2 Chainz assisted “What They Want” don’t really hit as hard as I feel they could have. Overall it’s a really good album, and much more accessible than Ab-Soul’s album…. I give this album a 8.25/10..... 2nd opinion(with old rating system) 9/10
