Jada’s 2009 offering is really good, even if there were a couple songs he could have left off. He shows great lyrical ability on the songs, and his delivery demands your attention. The beats are good too, and I felt the album had pretty good replayability. This one has a little something for everybody. I felt the collabo with Ne-yo wasn’t as good as it could have been. What If is a great song even if it is somewhat like his “Why” song from 2004’s Kiss of Death. “Letter to B.I.G.” is incredibly thoughtful and features Faith Evans. “Stress Ya” produced by the Neptunes might be the best song. There some other gems too like “Smoking Gun” featuring Jazmine Sullivan. “I Tried” and “Come and Get Me” are pretty mid tho. Overall it’s a good album. Lyrics 23 Beats 20 Depth 22 Tilt 20 Verdict 85

Lets talk about New York rappers for this post. I feel NYC is the originator of the rap game. I will be sharing my thoughts on Fat Joe, Ja Rule, and Jadakiss. These rappers were very popular during the time period of 2001-2008. But why write this now? Let's get into it son. Ja Rule- Ja was a good rapper. I remember his videos were really well received on 106 and Park back in the day. He had hits like "Holla Holla" "Put It On Me" and "New York"; the latter of which featured Fat Joe and Jadakiss. I consider Ja the original MELODIC rapper. Ya know that Drake is a modern day Melodic rapper. That's right, like Ja popularized this sound that so many rappers use right now. That includes arch nemesis 50 Cent.   Fat Joe - Fat Joe aka Joey Crack was a dope rapper and well he still is. I really like his music for the fact its well...very simplistic yet effective. The Kiss of Death is the middle album in the Kiss trilogy, and its currently Jada’s best album. The album is really cohesive and deep. Lyrically Jada proves he’s a great rapper. His delivery is good. There’s a good amount of guest spots like Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, Nate Dogg, DJ Quick, Pharrell, and even Eminem. Of course one of my favorite tracks is “Gettin’ It In” which features a funny Kanye West. Production wise the album has hard hitting, yet smooth beats. The single “Why” asks questions all hip hop fans should be asking…(or should have asked). Overall this is a one of the great East Coast albums of the 2000s. Verdict: 9.5

Jadakiss claims hes a top 5 rapper all time..i say no, maybe top 15, maybe. However this album is very good. Theres a big guest list including Styles P, Lil Wayne, Akon, Swizz Beatz, Ne-yo, and Jeezy. The guests do well, especially Lil Wayne...who surprisingly steals the show. The beats are also pretty good. Some are raw and dark, but others bring a brighter energy. Jada spits with intensity on every track. I liked the skits too.The album is superior to the Last Kiss album easily. AHHA! The verdict is a 9.3/10
