Chesstown King's Reviews and Thoughts

 Another review that I meant to do earlier. This was Usher's album that came out with his Super Bowl performance. The album gets off to a good start with the title track and single "Good Good". Both Summer Walker and 21 Savage do very well on that track. "A-Town Girl" featuring Latto really works well too. Overall the album is pretty well rounded. I did feel it had one or too many tracks that didn't stand out in the latter half of the album. The song "BIG" is kinda comical as Usher sings he always gets the big combo at fast food places. Overall though its a solid album from Usher. The production is good. Unfortunately there just aren't really any amazing songs like Usher usually has on his albums.   - Usher returns to his old style with R v R, which is a very good album. The album’s first half is its better half, but you can’t help but feel the album runs a tad bit long. I think Foolin Around is too sappy, and does nothing but sound like a very watered down Confessions song. With that aside, this album has Usher returning to the types of songs that made him popular in the first place. Lil Freak with Nicki Minaj is excellent, as is OMG with will.i.am. Some really effective Slow songs are Mars vs. Venus and There Goes my Baby. Overall I was very impressed with the album, even though its not as original as Confessions. Well the year is past but here are my top 3.... 3)Usher-Hard II Love- It was fairly close, but I loved this album. I thought I was going to dislike it based off the single No Limit. However that song grew on me, as did the record. Usher is in near top form in 2016. The album just has too much going for it. My favorite song is Bump. "AT AT-WHat, DONT STOP DONT STOP" LOL 2) Beyonce-Lemonade- Say what you want, but Queen B tied for the highest R&B album this year.(K Michelle and Solange). I absolutely love the song Formation, as well as Sorry, Daddy Lessons, and Freedom. This is a side of B we really haven't seen before...or not this much...Beyonce' is on fire. 1) Rihanna-ANTI- Okay so i might need to rethink my rating scale...nah just kidding. Originally I gave this album  a 93/100, but its about a 95 truly. But this list isnt about numbers its about my preference. ANTI features a new look Rihanna. Usher’s 2016 outing is much better than I expected, especially after an only decent single No Limit, feat. Young Thug. The singing is really good, as is the production. The song Bump is my favorite, its so awesome. The album is filled with bangers. Its not like the last Usher album, Lookin 4 Myself wasn’t good, but this is better. The title track is really good too. Ultimately this is proof that Usher has not fallen off (even if he was close to.)  If you’re fan of Usher or RnB music do yourself a favor and listen to this! Verdict: 9.5/10

Hey guys I'm back again. This time I'm talking about Usher Raymond Terry IV aka Usher, aka Ursher lol. As you recall I did a post about Ne-Yo recently, this will be similar to that....If you havent read that go check it out. Now Usher has a new album coming out on the 16th of September. It's called Hard II Love, and I honestly am not sure it will be very good....but hey i'll review that when it comes out... Unless you live under a damn rock you know all about Usher. He's a singer-entertainer. He was inspired by Boyz II Men, Janet Jackson, and the great Michael Jakcson. He is followed by Chris Brown, who I will do a MT blog about one day..... You know Usher's career goes back quite a ways and to be honest, I've liked his music from day one. I didnt really become a huge fan until i heard songs like U Got it Bad, U Remind Me, and U Don't' Have to Call. Hmm all these songs start with "U" lol. I have gotten all of Usher's albums s...

This is without a doubt, Usher’s best album. Here’s why… The lyrics are great, the singing is on point, and the hooks are catchy as hell. The album starts out with Yeah, the certified classic banger. Then it gets more even paced and sentimental with songs like Throwback, Burn, and Confessions 1 & 2. The special edition has My Boo with Alicia Keys and a remix to Confessions 2. There’s also a great song Red Light which I love. The production on the album is almost flawless as well. I know you’ve already heard this album, but if you haven’t go listen! Verdict: 9.9/10

Usher comes back with an even better album than his 2010 album Raymond vs. Raymond. The album has some pretty simple subjects but the songs are all really well executed. The album starts off with 2 similar songs in Scream and Can’t Stop Won’t Stop. Climax is one of the only really sad songs, but it’s one of Usher’s best. The album has some really nice production, but nothing above R v R. This album is filled with mostly good carefree songs, while some like Lessons for the Lover and the album title track are very emotional. Euphoria is a great song to end the album .This album was better than I expected and it’s great to see Ursher in great form like this. Overall i feel this album gets a 9.25/10. Its a great album but not all that innovative. Ursher baby! lol
