Chesstown King's Reviews and Thoughts

My heart was heavy when I heard the news this past Sunday. Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash yesterday. My condolences to the Bryant family, NBA family, and the other victim's families. The news was just almost unreal and horribly saddening. Kobe was my favorite player in the NBA... easily. I remember seeing his games with Shaq and seeing him win 3 championships back to back. I truly became a Laker fan when I saw him loose in the 2008 Finals to the Boston Celtics. I felt sorry for Kobe honestly. It made me root for him and then I saw him win a title without Shaq and then another title without Shaq. The last one over the Boston Celtics at that. And who could forget his last game where he scored 60 against the Utah Jazz to close out that season. I'm also forgetting the 81 point game he had in 2006. I know this is a celebrity death but Kobe was like a hero to me. I saw him hit so many big shots and play in so many big games. I gotta mention the...

This series GOT ME INTO the nba. It was to this day the BEST I’ve seen overall. Kings were up 2-1. Up 2 in Staples. Horry hits a MIRACLE shot to beat Kings by 1 point….Im tellin you I saw it live. He saved the Lakers with that shot, big shot Rob. However, the lakers won the battle but not the west yet. Kings won game 5 by 1. So then Lakers win Game 6 barely. I think after a heartbreaking Game 6 loss (Refs did cheat lol) the Kings had nothing left in the tank.   I do believe 100% that a healthy Kings sweep the Nets in the finals. Or maybe win in 5. Series Grade: A+

As you know, this was my favorite player’s last year in the NBA. I’m talking about Kobe Bryant of course. I’ve seen Kobe’s career from its early success winning 3 titles with Shaq (another favorite player of mine) to the lows of barely making the playoffs, to winning 2 more titles, and now the swan song seasons.                 It’s obvious Kobe wanted to be like Michael Jordan, I mean a lot of players did. How many actually did it though? Same height, similar games…Kobe got it done! I’ve seen him hit so many big shots. I felt really bad for him after the 2008 finals blowout loss in the finals to the Celtics. After that I kinda became a Lakers fan…                 The league just won’t be the same without the black mamba. And how fitting of a knickname for Kobe. A black mamba is perhaps the deadliest snake in the world…...
