Album Review: Rick Ross Rather You Than Me

The latest Rick Ross is a noticeable improvement over Black Market…in fact, its his best album! The album is plain and simply loaded. The first song, Apple of My Eye, features a vulnerable Ross. His lyriscism is good throughout and the production is varied and enjoyable. There’s a good amount of guest spots also like Young Thug, Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Wale, Dej Loaf, Nas and even Chris Rock. On Powers That Be, he disses Birdman. He whiles out about sexual exploits on She On My Dick. This album is fire. Some songs aren’t as great as others but ima let that slide. RUH! Verdict: 9.3/10

Game System Review: Xbox One S

The Xbox One S is a superior system to its predecessor. I really like how its an entertainment media center and also a gaming machine. It also can play 4k Blu Rays…..The Graphics are much improved over the original xbox also. Remember when 720p was the norm for xbox? Controller wise the Xbox One S is really dope. The controller was redesigned to have access to a headphone jack without any extra add ons. The controller is very comfortable and it has rumble engines in the triggers. Other than that the controller is very similar to the PS4 one accept it doesn’t have  a touchpad or light bar. Interface wise, as of now, the XBOX is better but, the PS4 makes it easier to share with social networks. The One S does multitask really well however. I have yet to really put it to the test. Broadcasting isn’t quite as easy as a PS4 but its not difficult; neither is accessing the game’s dvr. Games make and break a system. There are some great exclusives like Gears of War and Halo….but i

From Worst to Best: T.I.

The King of the mother***in south shawty. Lets' look at the kingly albums from worst to best. 10)           No Mercy-69: No Mercy is his worst album by far. It has decent production but he comes off as lazy and uninspired. Its like he wants you to feel sorry for him and that’s just not kingly at all. There are some gems tho, like “That’s All She Wrote” and “Amazing”. This album was originally titled King Uncaged…thank God he changed it. Top Tracks: Welcome to The World, No Mercy, Amazing, That’s All She Wrote. 9)    I’m Serious-80: This is his actual first album, and every true T.I. fan knows it. This album isn’t bad but its not great either. It sounds extremely dated. It came out in 2001. Its nice hearing a young TIP tho. Top Tracks: Dope Boyz, I’m Serious, Do It. 8)       T.I. vs TIP-83: I really like this album but there’s a lot of flaws. It gets off to a strong start then gets really uneven. The TIP part of his personality is first then you get the T.I. part, then you

Album Review: Ludacris-Theater of the Mind

Luda’s 7 th album, looking back is at an odd place in his discography. It’s a great album which is followed by his worst album, Battle of Sexes. For starters his lyricism is really on point…maybe the best it’s been. Songs like MVP and Undisputed certainly help that claim. He also doesn’t get outdone by neither Nas or Jay Z on I Do It For Hip Hop. The production is also really good. Luda seems focused here to prove he’s a top MC, all while having some fun too. 2 songs in particular, Contagious and Nasty Girl are quite skippable. The Jamie Foxx feature does nothing to help. I Like Chris Rock, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne’s features on the respective songs. Game, Common, & T-Pain are also co-starring, but the most important feature is former rival T.I. Check out this album if you haven’t already. Verdcit: 9/10

From Worst to Best: Jay Z

Time to rank the albums of Great Hova! I call him great hova cause lets face it, he's not young anymore. I have omitted Dynasty Roc La Famlia....I just don't feel its a Jay album...it's more of a Roc A Fella album. . And I'm not including Collision Course(With Linkin Park) or the R.Kelly albums. Watch the Throne with Kanye will be on the list however. With that out of the way lets get into it 12) Blueprint 2-82 : BP2 is Jay’s effort right after his masterpiece album. The production is solid here. However Jigga was trying to many different things on here. Some were really effective like “03 Bonnie & Clyde” and others it didn’t. All in all his bars are not up to his usual standards…It is a double disc….so theres a lot of filler. Top Tracks: U Don’t Know (Remix), 03’ Bonnie & Clyde, Excuse Me Miss, Hovi Baby, The Watcher 2. 11) Kingdom Come-84: Jay’s coming out of retirement party is decent…..The production is flashy but not that cohesive as oth

My Thoughts: T.I.

This edition of My Thoughts is dedicated to Clifford Harris aka T.I. aka TIP. I thought I already did this blog post...but I didn't so here we go. T.I. is a dirty south rapper, knows for rhythmic rapping style...not punchline rapper like ATL former rival Ludacris. I first heard him rap on Bone Crusher's song "I Aint Never Scared". I was like who is this crazy guy? LOL. I'm alluding to the video...im not saying ... After that I heard Trap Musik and then by the time Urban Legend came out in 2004 I was a fan. I didn't get Urban Legend till 05 though. Then came King in 2006...a monster album. I listened to it all the time. I even saw the movie ATL for my 18th birthday. It to this day is one of my favorite rap albums period. After that T.I. released TI vs TIP an interesting bipolar themed album. Then he released arguably his best album Paper Trail. I really liked that album and I feel it was the best rap album in a VERY CROWDED year for rap music....

Album Review: Fat Joe & Remy Ma Plata O Plomo

The long awaited rap duo album is by all means lit. Fat Joe has stepped it up lyrically, but Remy Ma is savage! The album sounds like it could have come out about 10 years ago…and that’s not really a bad thing. It sounds fresh still, even if the some of the songs don’t stand out as well as All The Way Up. Heartbreak featuring The Dream is a nice change of pace. Warning and Cookin are also dope. Overall I don’t feel It’s a classic, but damn do I love it. This duo delivered. Verdict: 9.1

Video Game Review: Gears of War 4

Welcome.....to the Xbox side....lol....this is the game that really got me to buy the Xbox One(S). And I blazed through it! I wont deal much with story and such but I will talk about how I felt about this game. Gears of War 4 is a third person shooting game, and a damn good one. Its really all about action as you blast your way through robots and alien swarm. The latter being much tougher to beat imo. Its a squad based shooter, which means you're rarely ever really alone....in fact I think you're usually surrounded by 2 or 3 other squad mates.... The game looks great and the voice acting is funny. Weapons like the Gnasher and Custom Lancer are terrific. If you die (without being blown up or crushed), a squad mate can revive you. You're expected to do the same because if anyone dies you'll lose. Luckly I found Ally A.I. to be really smart. They take cover, revive you and provide covering fire. It's similar to what I saw in Uncharted 4. Enemies come in vario
