Chesstown King's Reviews and Thoughts

 This latest K. Michelle album is good....but its a firm step down from the other albums of hers I've reviewed. K's singing is great as usual. The production is pretty good too. However I found a few songs to be a little average. There are some highlights here tho like "No Pain", "Wherever the D May Land", and "Hurt Shit". "Scooch" is another high tempo banger. The album ends with the country song "Tennessee" which ins't bad. Overall its a good album but I expected more from such a stellar artist. Lyrics 23 Beats 22 Depth 22 Tilt 22 Verdict 89

 This latest K. Michelle album is really good but not quite as good as her last album. Her singing and the lyrics are as great as ever. The production was good too. I noticed a lot of the songs were slower ballad types. I really liked "Supahood" which features City Girls and Kash Doll. That was a fire single. "The Game" is another highlight. "Ciara's Prayer" is also really good. Overall it just feels like another K. Michelle album. She really has a great discography at this point. Check this one out. That might be ballads, club bangers, or average tempo songs. Impact:  The artist’s landmark they leave on the Rhythm and Blues nation. Their music’s ability to last. Commercial Success:  How many albums did they sell during their careers. Bracket A 1)Beyonce’ vs. 16)Keri Hilson:  The Queen B Beyonce goes up against Miss Keri baby. An upset is not expected here. There’s some hostility in this matchup as well should be lit. Vocal Ability-  So I honestly feel this is closer than you think. But I gotta give Beyonce’ the edge here. 6-4 Albums-  This is where its unfortunately for Keri, not close at all. Keri has 2 ...

This woman is on fire! On the first song “Alert”, K showcases her rapping ability which is just what she did on her last album. While her last 2 albums have been incredible, she seems to be in prime form on this album. The production is great too. Her vocal ability doesn’t leave much else to be desired. The album first half is really more uptempo, but the 2 nd half has more thoughtful songs. “Talk to God” and “Run Don’t Walk” are some excellent songs. “Kim K” is a really interesting song too. All in all this might be the best R&B album I’ve heard in 2017. Verdict: 9.9

Verdict: 9.7/10 K Michelle returns with another stellar album. She’s quickly becoming a favorite R&B songstress of mine. Shes got a powerful voice, and she even raps on the intro here. There’s more of a guest list this time featuring Jason Derulo on one song and Trina and Yo Gotti on another. The production is better this time around, but it’s not quite as deep an album, and its really almost not noticeable. Check this one out!

K Michelle comes out with a masterful, well varied R&B album. She is a really good vocalist, and the lyrics are very on point. The beats aren’t bad either. The whole album is just amazing. The album has a lot of midtempo songs….which works well. It will be hard for her to top this effort. The verdict...9.75/10. Its a blast to listen to.
