My Personal Video Game History Part 2

Have you been wondering what video games I've been playing since the late 2010s and till now in the mid 2020s? Well here you go Ok so after I traded in the Xbox One in 2018 I got a Nintendo Switch. OMG this thing was great. I think Breath of the Wild was my first game. I would get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey too. I was still playing my ps4 a lot too. I was playing God of War (2018) and Horizon Zero Dawn.....but I wouldn't beat either one of those until about 2020. For Switch I would eventually put over 500 hours into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate making it my most played fighting game! Later for PS4 I was able to play games that were technically ps5 games like Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnaraok. Both games were absolutely amazing! Back on the Switch I would play some really great games like Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Zelda Skyward Sword remastered. I really was playing quite a few Pokemon games annually too like Shield, then Brilliant Diamond, t...

Video Game Blog: Horizon Zero Dawn Review

After over 2 years I finally beat Horizon Zero Dawn. It was quite the accomplishment as the game is long. I didn't even do a lot of side quests. I'll try not to give away too much of the story but I'll have to give you some. HZD takes place in the future where the world is ruled by animalistic machines and the people live in tribes mostly. You play as Alloy a young woman of the Nora tribe. Alloy starts as an outsider but eventually becomes "The Anointed" amongst her people. You set off on an adventure to figure out why the world is the way it is. Alloy can run, jump, swim, and also...hide. A lot of fights in Horizon can be avoided by hiding in this tall red grass that's pretty prevalent in the game. Sometimes tho, you'll have to fight. Alloy has a wide assortment of bows and arrows at her disposal. She also has a spear for close quarters combat. There are other weapons too like a sling shot and mini gun, but I found the bows and spear most effective....

Video game blog: Super Mario Odyssey

I’ve been playing my Nintendo switch for some time now. I’ll review the system soon. This post is about Super Mario Odyssey and we’ll how amazing it is. The game seems simple on the surface but it’s actually very complex. What makes it very complex is the Magical hat Mario wears. Mario’s Cap (I forget the name) has a mind of its own. You use it to take control of enemies and also to interact with your environment. It’s a really deep system. I found myself taking control of a tank to take on a vicious boss in New Donk City. NDC is a dope city also....it’s basically showing you there are humans in Mario’s world, and well; he’s not human lol. The game seems to have a perfect difficulty as well. As you know I love Zelda botw also but that game is hard af. Mario Odyssey bosses go down in 3 hits....with them getting very aggressive after 2. There was a couple times where I wasn’t sure how to beat a boss....you generally just have to use that magic hat. I haven’t beaten the game yet...

My Personal Video Game Systems Ranked

15) SNES Classic- The SNES Classic is a great system. I think its definitely for a nostaligic gamer. I love the system. I never had a SNES back in the day, so I was happy to pre order and pick this up. My favorite games to play here are Zelda: A Link to the Past, Street Fighter II, SMW 1 & 2, F Zero, and Kirby Super Star Saga. I wish they'd allow this to be played with wifi. 14) Nintendo (Original)- This is where is it all began! I was like 6 years old when my father brought this home. It came with TONS of games too. I loved Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. I also played Mega Man 6, Zelda 1&2 and 1942. What I didn't like about this system is it would only work like 70-80% of the time. Other times it would mess up lol. 13) PS Vita/PS TV- The PS Vita is an interesting system that was unfortunately AHEAD of its time. This system had PS3 level graphics and a a terrific control scheme.....but most notably, a 2nd analog stick. I loved playing K...

My Favorite Video Games of today (not ALL TIME)

Horizon Zero Dawn -HZD is an incredible game. The main character, Alloy is very likable. She must fight these anamilistic robots. I Love the way the game's fighting system is. Its basically divided into close range a spear attacks and a myriad of other ranged attacks. I love the mystique of the post apocolyptic world the people live in. I have yet to beat this game to date, but one day soon I hope to. 9.75/10 Zelda A Link Between Worlds - This is a terrific Zelda built off the guideline of A Link to the Past...the 3rd Zelda game ever and a classic to boot. This Zelda tackles items and dungeons in a different way. it lets you tackle bosses with a vareity of rental/buyable items. 9.25 Uncharted Lost Legacy- Uncharted without Nathan Drake in the game at all? Well..tbh it works well. The only thing really wrong with the game is sometimes it is REALLY unclear where to go. Also you cannot play as Nadine at all. However the rest of the game is really cool. It controls well and feels...

My Favorite Video Games of the Year 2017

*I only listed games i've played so no Nintendo games from the switch are here* 5. Star Wars Battlefront 2- SWBF2 is the sequel to the 2015 reboot of Battlefront. You’ve all heard about the play to win thing…easy on the microtransactions bro. Overall I really like this game. The worst thing about it is the same thing as the last installment; when you fight you don’t feel like you are making all that much difference in the battles. The game looks terrific. It’s more in depth than SWBF1. If I were to score it, I’d give it a 7.5. 4.Uncharted Lost Legacy-I really like Uncharted games. This one you don’t play as Nathan Drake, but rather Chloe Frazier. The game is amazing. It looks terrific. The puzzles are interesting too. It falls short of the narrative of Uncharted 4 and kinda feels like Uncharted 4.5. Still tho I cannot wait to beat it. 3.Tekken 7-This might be the pinnacle of Tekken. The game is literally flawless from a technical stand point. The game looks great. I lov...

My Personal Video Game History

My History of Video Games Have you ever wondered what video games got me into gaming or what I was playing during such and such console war? Well lemme break it down for you. Early Days I’m going to take you back to 1994. I got my first gaming system (not including PC), the Nintendo Entertainment system. Sure my Dad should have got me a SNES…but it was free….and looking back it was a piece of s*** system. Cause it barely worked. I had so many games….i had like more than 30…so take that Nintendo with your discontinued piece of …ahem lol. After that I got an N64 in 97 I believe. Yeah I was 9 years old. Let me tell you, back in 96-97 we had NEVER SEEN graphics like that before….so it was a beautiful system…and arguably the golden age of my gaming…however, I’m going to reexamine that quote later but remember this might be my golden age. Why? I played video games like all day! Games like Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Goldenye 007 Star Fox 64….Zelda Ocarina of Time ...

Game System Review: Xbox One S

The Xbox One S is a superior system to its predecessor. I really like how its an entertainment media center and also a gaming machine. It also can play 4k Blu Rays…..The Graphics are much improved over the original xbox also. Remember when 720p was the norm for xbox? Controller wise the Xbox One S is really dope. The controller was redesigned to have access to a headphone jack without any extra add ons. The controller is very comfortable and it has rumble engines in the triggers. Other than that the controller is very similar to the PS4 one accept it doesn’t have  a touchpad or light bar. Interface wise, as of now, the XBOX is better but, the PS4 makes it easier to share with social networks. The One S does multitask really well however. I have yet to really put it to the test. Broadcasting isn’t quite as easy as a PS4 but its not difficult; neither is accessing the game’s dvr. Games make and break a system. There are some great exclusives like Gears of War and Halo….b...

My Favorite Video Games of 2016

Ah i promised you a countdown of video games but honestly....The list is too short, and too hard to rank...instead i'll give you my top 3. 3) Gears of War 4- The reason I bought the Xbox One. Its a fun squad based shooter. It's controls are top notch, and I love the acting. 2)NBA 2k17- I love NBA...and I love 2k. ANd this is the best one i've played since 2k9. And thats saying something...ok ok ok maybe 2k11. They even brought back playoff mode. 1) Uncharted 4- Now this game got a 9.85 and it deserved it clearly. Its combination of action set pieces, puzzles, and voice acting. Its just one of the best games period.

The Microsoft side......:P

I'm a die hard sony fan boi and now I have an xbox one s lol. I was able to get it by selling my wii U BASICALLY....I wasn't playin the wii U much so this move (suggested by my best friend) made sense. I'm really liking the xbox so far. RIght now all I have is Gears of War 4 and Halo Collection. I hope to continue my gamer domination lol. BILL GATES WHATTUP! lol

Video Game Review: Uncharted 4

Ok so i just beat that Uncharted 4 for PS4...it was lit...amazing, spectacular. It's time for a review! If you haven't played an Uncharted game then this is the one you could start with. It's' kind of like Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider. You discover ancient artifacts, shoot guns, engage in fist fights, and climb terrain...alot. Uncharted 4 is the best Uncharted for a few reasons. While all Uncharted games have great graphics and dialogue, its top notch here. And the Action sequences are incredible. The game involves you looking for the pirate Henry Avery's treasure to save main Protagonist's Nathan Drake's brother, Sam Drake. There's a plot twist halfway through the game that I wont spoil. The game has a lock on mechanic so combat is smooth as ever...but hit detection isnt always great. The enemies are smart too. They flank you and throw grenades sometimes when you have cover. Having played all the Uncharted games and beaten them except the PS Vit...

Video Game Review: Star Fox Zero

It's time for another video game review. This one is a little overdue I must admit. I grew up playin Star Fox 64 on the N64. This game is kind of a retelling of that game, instead of a true sequel. The game is a space shooter where you pilot various vehicle and shoot enemies. The Star Fox  seriess high on action, and Zero is no different. Graphically the game is great. Colors are vibrant, and areas are varied. The sounds of the game are decent as well. You have to use the Wii U Gamepad to play, and you have to have the volume on to hear the cockpit dialogue i think. That chatter is good too. Your teamates give you tips and tell you to help them out. Enemies also have a lot to say. Now for the elephant in the room. The controls. You have to use the wii U gampad's motion controls for precise aiming. So in a sense you are constantly going to have to switch between your tv screen and the Gamepad. My eyes however got used to doing that. I dont think these are the easiest cont...

Video Game Review: Final Fantasy X

I just beat this game for the (i think) 4th time. It is masterful. I'm not going to go through the main points to it and give a score at the end of this review FFX is a Role Playing Game(RPG For short). It's easily my favorite final fantasy game. The HD Version came out in 2014 for PS3 and PS Vita and i bought both versions. I actually have the ps4 version which includes FFX-2 which i will play at a later date. Whats really cool is you can cross save your game date no matter which of the 3 systems you play on. Thats a really nice feature. I actually started on PS3, played most on PSVIta, played some on PS4, and finsished on PSVIta. Okay as for the game, it looks terrific. THe game is cinematic with terrific characters. The heroes are relatable, and the villains are interesting. I'm not going through the story in this blog post, but I have to say it's one of gaming best to date. It is the game that got me into the series(And sadly the only FF i've beaten so...

My Favorite RPG's of all time

1.        Final Fantasy X-This should come as no surprise. FFX is a top 3 game of mine all time, so this was a no brainer. FFX has an incredible story, great characters and fun combat. It’s a turn based RPG meaning the fights can really take a long time. 2.        Pokemon Heart Gold- PHG is imo the best Pokemon to date. It’s got added features of GBA and DS pokemons. There’s also 16 gym leaders, rival fights, Elite 4 round 1 and 2, and Ash Kethum(RED) at the end. 3.        Paper Mario-This is a special game. Its inspired by Super Mario RPG(go figure). Its just as good if not better. 3 sequels to the Mario RPG extravaganza. The game is pretty challenging, as you rescue Princess with a party of fellow Mushroom Kingdom characters. 4.        Pokemon Yellow-This game gets the nod over Red and Blue due to its addition of Pikachu following you mostly. Also you c...

The New Nintendo 3ds XL review

New 3ds XL Review                 The New Nintendo  3ds(dual screen) Is a wonderful handheld system. It builds on what made the 3ds so great. There’s a great selection of games, and its backwards compatible with the other games from the DS library. The new 3ds has some really cool features. Truth be told I wasn’t going to get one, but the circle pad on my old one broke .                 So let’s cover what’s new. There is a stiff analog button on the right side. Its very good but few games actually use it so far(in 2015). The system also has 2 extra trigger buttons which can be useful. The 3d works a lot better as far as its ability to track your head.  There are some other changes too, but I don’t think I need to mention them.              ...

Sony Playstation 4 Review

Now I will be reviewing the fastest selling console of all…well of the generation right. I picked up the PS4 about a year after it came out. Let’s get into the review. The PS4 is a gamers game system. It doesn’t have all the media features of the Xbox One but it has gotten some apps to help it catch up like Media Player. The system has a lot going for it, like its super sleek design and impressive powerful graphics. It even beats out Xbore this time. Of course being a gamers system, it’s weakest point is the lack of new exciting games out to play. Sure there’s remasters and multiplatformers. Sure there’s WItcher 3, Metal Gear Solid 5   out now….and Uncharted 4 coming soon. Ultimately I haven’t been disappointed but I’ve returned a lot of games on the system already. One of them being Killzone Shadowfall which has been the most fun I’ve had thus far on the PS4. The Controller is also a win. Its got a display light that can be utilized a variety of ways like heal...

Video Game BLog- Pokemon (Gotta Catch Em All)

If you didn’t know, I am a big Pokemon fan. However Pokemon has started to lose its luster. Pokemon is an RPG that gained popularity in Japan and other areas of the world in the late 90s. I’m going to focus primarily on the Video games, even though there is a TV show and card game.             Pokemon is an RPG(Role Playing Game). You play as a young boy(or girl in newer ones). Your character doesn’t fight or get stronger, instead Pokemon fight your battles. They have different types such as Fire, Water, Electric, Rock, Psychic, and a few more. They also learn moves that have different elemental types. You basically just train them and try to beat Gym Leaders, which are bosses. Then you challenge the Elite 4 which are like the final boss. In the first Pokemon versions, Red, Blue, and Yellow; you had to fight your rival at the end of the game.             I really loved ...

Video Game Review: Zelda Majora's Mask 3D

Zelda Majora's Mask....was one of my least favorite Zelda's when i played it on N64 over 10 years ago. However maybe that's just because I rage quitted on the final boss and never beat it.  However after playing this new version, for the 3ds, I gotta say its one of my favorites. This Majora features Young Link only, but he still rides Epona and still has sweet items like the Bow and Hookshot. You also get Masks which allow you to transform into a Deku, Goron, and Zora. This adds whole new gameplay mechanics. Deku Link flies, Goron Link Rolls, and Zora Link swims. Yes Masks are the lure of the game as there are plenty to collect and many do diffrent things..like the bunny hood which makes Link run faster. The game is like Ocarina of Time only in presentation and controls. The game has 4 main dungeons, and since you have to keep going back in time with the Song of Time before the 3 day time limit, there's an opportunity to redo old dungeons and events related to...

Video Game System Review: Wii U

Video Game System Review Wii U This is a system review. I’m not going to go into a lot of specifications. I’m just going to give you what I feel about the system. I’m going to review a system I have. That’s only fair. I got the Wii U right after it came out. I really liked the Gamepad. I find myself playing on it while having the TV on something else often.. It’s a really handy device. Of course not all games (like Mario Party 10) enable that feature. The Wii Nunchuks are cool. I mostly just use them to play regular wii games. That is an awesome feature too. I missed out on a lot of wii games like Zelda Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy(1and 2). The Pro controllers are very comfortable. I had to cop 2 of those. Graphically, the Wii U is good, but rather inferior to the PS4 and Xbox 1. It does have some nice features though. Theres an ability to share messages with other players even in a game with Miiverse. The stylus and the gamepad can be used as a browser. ...

Video game of the Year Award 2014

Hey I've played a few new games this  year. I' not going to navigate any game i havent played. So with that said Hyrule Warriors-A great game, but very very challenging. Destiny-A great game that has FPS and RPG elements, yet it doesn't do anything all that great. Mario Kart 8-The best looking MK to date. It also boasts great controls and lots of playable characters. The only downside is that the battle mode has taken a step back. Super Smash Bros. 3ds-Smash bros on the go! Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze-A great platformer but its very very difficult. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare- I haven't played it all that much, but the game seems very solid. The jetpacks bring a new element to combat. Super Smash Bros. Wii U-The best Smash bros to date is a great game with no real flaws, except online play. And the winner is.... Super Smash Bros Wii U. I havent played it a whole lot, but from what i've played its the definitive Smash bros ...
