Best Rap Albums of 2017 (1st Half)

1)Logic-Everybody (98) - Logic has the title right now as far as the best rap album of 2017. Why? The album is really honest, really straight forward, and oh yeah; sounds good af. Logic is black and white and he pretty much makes sure you know it. However, the skits are unnecessary. Great album and the one to beat for 2 nd half albums of 2017. 2)Kendrick Lamar: DAMN (97) -King Kendrick aka Kung Fu Kenny comes back in 2017 with an explosive album. Its also his most accessible. Ironically this is the weakest of the 3 major projects! K.dot flows effortlessly over the great production. A must listen to album for this year no doubt. 3)Jay Z-4:44 (97) -Great Hova blesses us in 2017 with this short album. It features a very vulnerable Jigga. A very apologetic Shawn Carter. I think that’s just we needed from him in 2017! The Story of O.J. will go down as one of his best songs. It’s a must cop. 4)Run The Jewels: Run the Jewels 3 (97) -I didn’t get this album until 2017, so I’m put

Album Review: Gorillaz- Humanz

This is the first Gorillaz album I’ve reviewed…its pretty damn good too. The production is fire. The first 2 songs are highlights. One features Vince Staples, one of the leaders of rap’s new school. The hits just keep coming for the most part…I guess I didn’t know what to expect, but I expected a little more. The album is only 50 minutes long but it feels longer due to the high number of tracks. Its certainly a good album….don’t listen to the haters. Verdict: 8.8 Sorry for the lack of content...more reviews are coming guys

My Thoughts: The Trump Presidency 1st Edition

I'm back with another round of the illustrious My Thoughts Series. As you may know, I dont like Trump. If you like him, maybe you shouldn't read this lol. I really think #45 is a smart businessman. That's all the praise he'll get from me. He's good with $$. Trump is very selfish, narcissistic, and well, downright mean. He's eased up a little from his Campaign days, but he still says really rude things. His administration is also dropping like flies. He fires anyone who opposes him that he can. Like some kind of big bully. Speaking of that, he's bullying North Korea, who seems to just want to be left alone....I forget what started this ordeal. Was it the sanctions? Now Trump is talkin all this s*** and now he looks stupid af. Does the President really know what's going on? He cant be this......out of touch with reality. And what's up with the love for Russia's President Putin? I mean come on mane. This is outrageous! I wonder what our count

Album Review: Three 6 Mafia- Most Known Unknown

All things considered I really enjoyed listenin to these Memphis rappers. The album is constructed well and the guest spots (Paul Wall, Bow Wow, Remy Ma, & Kanye West) are well used. 3 6 Mafia do a great job here. The production is noticeably better than the lyrics. I think both versions of Side 2 Side are great. Stay Fly and Poppin My Collar are terrific songs as well. Most songs sound really similar tho. It’s definitely one of the better dirty south albums.  Verdict: 8.8

Product Review: Apple Ipod Touch 6th Generation Review

As you may know, I am an apple enthusiast or fan boy. I have multiple apple devices. Peep my previous posts for my history with the devices:  http://maxreviewsandthoughts.blogspot.com/2014/10/my-thoughts-apple-products.html I had an Ipod Touch 5th generation and it had gotten old. The battery was getting worse all the time. It would only last a 3rd of a day about a year ago...to about 1 hour, then just 30 minutes...I was like "Oh HELL NO DAWG, its over!" LOL. It was 64 GB and pretty useful. I mean I have an Ipod Classic still thats 160 GB but honestly I don't prefer its clickwheel interface to a touch screen. I don't think I'm alone on that either. Now my 6th gen ipod touch is an absolute beast. The battery is beast. It lasts like 10 hours...beautiful stuff. It's 128 GB which is more than enough for the music i want to have readily available. Also it has a faster processor than the 5th....It's very noticeable. Also the Ipod is UPGRADABLE...at lea

Album Review: Chingy Jackpot

You know what, before he fell off the map, Chingy was one of my favorite rappers. Sure, he’s very similar to Nelly, but this is a good album.  The beats or production are very good. I don’t really have much to say about this album. With the exception of Holiday Inn, its very cookie cutter/dated rap music. The production is absolute fire. The album is pretty deep too. Chingy’s lyrics are alright. Passable, you know. People accused him of being a Nelly clone…well yeah he kinda was. Verdict: 8.4

Album Review: Fat Joe The Elephant in the Room

This isn’t a bad album, its just a lil disappointing. Fat Joe is a really good rapper, but his lyrics are pretty average here. The beats are good, but many songs’ production leaves a bit to be desired. The singles are great, and My Conscience is a good song. The good outweighs the bad here, but the flaws are too big to be unignored. I Won’t Tell is an awesome song that really stands out like a sore thumb since it’s one of the only odes to the ladies. 300 Brolic is really dope too. I guess this one is just for the super Fat Joe fans. Verdict: 7/10

Album Review: Common-Be

This is a great album from Common. He’s Chai town’s Nas, so I don’t know what that makes Kanye, but this is an impressive performance. The Corner and Testify are incredible songs; both produced by Kanye. The album’s first half is the better half but it’s a solid project. The production is so soulful, but his lyrics are even better. I don’t feel the album is flawless as far as it’s depth but its not far from it. Maybe it didn’t help that I actually heard this after his Finding Forever album. This is in the top half of a great discography. Verdict: 9.4

Album Review: Fabolous-From Nothin To Somethin

This is a pretty good outing for Fab way back in 07. I like most of these songs. In fact only the last song,  wasn’t really that up to par for me. Loso spits really well over these nice beats. “Brooklyn” features Jay-Z…and who could forget about the amazing “Me Better” featuring Ne-Yo. The Swizz Beatz produced “Return of the Hustle” is also a banger. The beats are nice…but nothing really spectacular. Overall it’s a great album from an underrated rapper. Verdict: 8.9

Album Review: Alicia Keys-The Diary Of Alicia Keys

This is, the best A.Keys album to date…it starts with an awesome Intro. Then “Karma” really pleases the ears. She sings about a foul lover. The next 2 songs are really good and well produced: “Heartburn” and “If I Was Your Woman” respectively. The next 3 singles are excellent as well. I believe “You Don’t Know My Name” helped solidify her spot as an R&B elite artist. I also believe it was produced by the great Kanye West! The album’s 2 nd half is the weakest half….but its not really bad or anything. I’m assuming if you’re a fan of Alicia you’ve already heard this; but If you haven’t listen now! Verdict: 9.6  A Great Diary Indeed

Movie Review: Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon

Now on to the review for Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. This movie came out in 2011. I don’t remember being too hype for it, but the movie delivered. The acting is good. Shia Lebeouf returns but Megan Fox has been replaced (written out lol). Dark of the Moon is a darker film than it’s 2 predecessors…much more so!                 This is a long movie; well over 2 hours. The pacing isn’t that great in the first half at all. The 2 nd half is action packed however…maybe too packed lol. I absolutely love the long intro. It shows how the space race was in response to a mysterious alien ship crash landing on the moon. The scene ends by going into the eyes of Sentinel Prime, who I will talk about more later.                 The movie then shows Sam Witwicky and his new girlfriend…Carley. Basically Sam is going threw it in this film. In Revenge of the Fallen he didn’t want to be a part of the Transformers war. He told Optimus, “You won’t give me a day in college.”

Movie Review: Transformers 2-Revenge of the Fallen

It’s time to review the easily most polarizing movie in the Transformers saga. Revenge of the Fallen came out in 2009. I remember being very hype to see it, and it didn’t let me down. In fact to let the cat out the bag this is my favorite one of Michael Bay’s renditions. The movie has great pacing, something that wasn’t really a problem in Transformers 1 either. The first half of the movie is certainly the better half however…culminating with arguably the best fight in Transformers; The forest scene. In fact this movie has a LOT more action than its predecessor. The plot isn’t as strong or cohesive but that’s really okay with me. Basically, the autoboots have formed a “designated strike team” called Nest with humans to hunt decepticons. The movie starts with Nest attacking 2 Decepticons in Hong Kong. It’s a really exciting scene. We see some new Autobots here as well such as side swipe and the twin bike girls (I Forgot their names). Optimus has to take down the giant decep
