Album Review: Dr. Dre's Compton

The latest Dr. Dre album is a great one. Dre does a masterful job of enlisting veterans like Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and even Xzibit and some newcomers like King Mez. The album has dope beats, but that is to be expected. The lyrical performances are also great. Dr. Dre doesn’t feel like a guest here either. I really liked all the songs. It’s a great compliment to the movie Straight Outta Compton from a subject perspective. I just hope Dr. Dre makes at least one more album. Detox anyone? The verdict: Its a solid 9.5/10. West Coast

Album Review: Young Thug's Barter 6

Young Thug’s debut album actually isn’t so bad. I cant believe I’m reviewing it to be honest. It’s nothing revolutionary, but Thug is given some pretty good beats to rap over. The best song might be Can’t Tell with T.I. and Boosie Badazz. The first song with Birdman isn’t bad either. The album is decent but not great lyrically (no surprise there). He really reminds me of Lil Wayne…not really a compliment haha. We’ll see if he brings more lyricism on his next album. The verdict: A 7.5/10! Young THugga lol

Best Albums Reviewed Vol. 3 (9-1)

Here are the final albums ENJOY  9)Tetsuo & Youth-Lupe Fiasco-An incredibly complex and unique album. It's without question Lupe's best album. Just check out his relentless bars on Mural.  8)Reasonable Doubt-Jay-z-Jigga's debut album is one of the best lyrical performances ever. Dead Presidents II is the best track, but there's a lot to like here.  7)The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill-Lauryn Hill-Lauryn Hill's album(only album) is incredibly introspective and thoughtful. She raps about real issues with ease. Something that Nicki Minaj is just now trying to get around to in 2015.  6)Me Against the Wolrd-2pac:Pac's best album is devoid of beef and hostility for the most part; 2 things Pac is known for. Despite this its a terrific album, with the classic Dear Mama song, in which Pac raps about his appreciation for his mother.  5)Amerikkaz Most Wanted-Ice Cube: A great album that really smacks you in the face before the first song. Ice Cube is without a doub

Album Review: Future's Dirty Sprite 2

Ah another Future album. I don’t have much to say about this album. Future’s still a pretty average singer and rapper. This album doesn’t have the guests that Honest had. However Drake stops by on Where Ya At. The beats are solid, but Future’s bars just aren’t that memorable. Overall though this is a comfortable album for Future. Nothing here seems out of his comfort zone. He’s a popular rapper now, but he needs to come a little better on the next album. The verdict is not as bad as my review indicates...... 7.5/10 lol.

THe Best Rap Albums Ever Reviewed Vol. 2 (17-10)

This is a top 27 list. It will be blogged as 3 separate posts.  Albums may have the same rating but I will decide which is better. Lauryn Hill’s album will be counted even tho I’ve listed it as an R&B album. Dont like the list(s). Let me know which albums shoulda made the list. 17) Sir Luscious Left Foot-Big Boi: A dirty south masterpiece. Big Boi's first solo album fires on all cylinders. There's a whole lot of radio ready singles on this one.   16) Only Built 4 Cuban Linx- Raekwon: A dope cinematic experience. Lyrically incredible, with pretty dope beats. This has got to be one of the best East Coast Rap Albums. 15) College Dropout- Kanye West : Alot can be said about this stellar album. It's a whole lot of fun to listen to. It really shows a big contrast between Kanye's early music to his current music. 14)Good Kid Maad City- Kendrick Lamar: Kdot struck gold with this creative album. It doesn't really sound that "west coast" but its r
