My Thoughts-The RISE of Nicki Minaj

The Rise of Nicki Minaj   As you know, Nicki Minaj is the dominant female rapper of today, and well she has been, I think since her 1 st album, Pink Friday, came out. The album took me by surprise: it wasn’t just raw, but very popish as well. This showed her ability to make different kind of songs, with ease.   This is article is about how did Nicki become the dominant female force in rap so easily? Well lets rewind things a bit. Lauryn Hill was regarded as the best female MC…even though her album was an R&B album….So obviously one has to remember the traditional female rappers that came before Nicki. Lil Kim, her former arch nemesis, was the first female MC to really perfect the combination of raw and sexy rhymes. That’s right I feel Nicki owes a lot to Lil Kim, since she came before her and paved the way for her. There have been other female MCs that have been popular in the late 90s and 2000s. Foxy Brown, Trina, Remy Ma, and Rah Digga are some. However when I

The 20/20 Experience (Justin Timberlake's latest album)

Pusher Love Girl- It’s rare that an album starts with a song that is 8 minutes in length….however this song does a good job of setting the state for your 20/20 experience with Mr. Timberlake. The chorus is great, but I just wish the song was a bit shorter. 8/10   Suit & Tie- I didn’t like this song the very first time I heard it but man did it grow on me. The song features Jay-z, the great Brooklyn rapper. However JT is the star of the show, and Jay’s weak verse can’t steal the spotlight. The song has a varied beat, and is ridiculously catchy. 9.5/10   Don’t Hold the Wall- This song is really interesting. It has an Arabic feel to it(which seems quite common on Timberland produced songs). The lyrics are very clever here, and it’s clear that this midtempo song should have been the first song in my opinion. 9/10   Strawberry Bubblegum- J.T. slows things down a bit with Strawberry Bubblegum. Timbaland continues to add his vocals to the mix. Justin does

Eazy E Review(Eazy Duz It)

Eazy’s debut album is a west-coast classic. My biggest complaint with the album is well….nothing. Its solid from all angles…perhaps the beats aren’t all that but for 1988 they’re fine. Eazy has a great flow and good punchlines. The Boyz in the Hood Remix is the best song by far. It’s a shame he died so young. R.I.P. to one of the west’s best.     I give this album a 9.5/10, its a landmark album.

Kid Cudi's Indicud Review

Kid Cudi’s 4 th album(3 rd solo) is a very good alternative rap album. It is a complex album. I feel its everybit as good as Man on the Moon II, and it feels like the first album but with more of a rock fueled feel to it. Kid Cudi’s lyrics are great as he does his rap/singer thing. The beats aren’t bad   either, as I hear Cudder did them himself.   My biggest complaint is that there aren’t that many stellar songs, but then again most of the songs are good….in fact I like them all. King Wizard, Red Eye, Beez, Young Lady, Unf***wittable, and Solo Dolo Pt. II are all great songs. Ultimately I think Kid Cudi still has the potential to make another near classic album but this will certainly due until Man on the Moon III comes out. I shall give this album a 9.25/10, but its more like a 9.3....but anyways good work Scott Mescudi

What is Love?

For this blog, i though't I'd do something diffrent: Be very personal. I havent really been in love more than once in my life thus far but i know what it feels like. You think about (her) all the time... They make you so happy....They make u feel like youre on cloud nine But wait, there is another side to this: When the love ends. U feel as if there's a void...an empty void As Trigga Trey Songz said on his song Heart Attack.... "I never knew love, could hurt this f***in bad, worse pain that i've ever had". A relationship can be the source of great happiness, and great sadness. You have a feeling of knowing someone really cares about you and is interested in you. Then you get in arguments which are usually over dumb things, that put a lot of stress on your relationship. Even though the pain of heartbreak is great; Its better to love and lose than never to love at all.

Fat Joe's Elephant in the Room review

This isn’t a bad album, its just a lil disappointing. Fat Joe is a really good rapper, but his lyrics are pretty average here. The beats are good, but many songs’ production leaves a bit to be desired. The singles are great, and My Conscience is a good song. The good outweighs the bad here, but the flaws are too big to be unignored. Well imma give this a 6.25/10. CRAAACK! Well its the elephant in the bathroom!

Tyler the Creator's Wolf review

After just two years we have another album from Tyler. This one isn’t as crazy and dark as Goblin, but its far more entertaining and cohesive. Lyrically Tyler has stepped it up as well. There are some songs that hint at madness in the album’s 2 nd half but for the most part I enjoyed this album. There aren’t any really long, somewhat boring songs up here either. The future looks bright for Tyler. I would have liked to hear more of that “Therapist guy” on the album but hey it’s a good album! Domo23, Jamba, Tamale, Ifhy, and Cowboy are some stand out songs.   Hmm Ima give this album 8.5/10. Great sequel.......Trashwang, WOFL HAILEY! lol

Trey Songz' Chapter V review

The 5 th trey songz album is very very good. However it really isn’t that innovative. The album isn’t very far behind P,P, &P, which was Trigga’s best album. Heart Attack is   a terrific song, that easily rivals Usher’s Climax song. Then there’s 2 Reasons with King of the South T.I. which is Trey’s best club song to date. The album has very good construction, but having most of your guest spots in one place on the album is a little clustering. There are some really good, soulful songs in the album’s second halflike Forever Yours, Fumble, and Without a Woman. Ultimately this is a win for Trey but you can’t help but think that he’s passed his prime. Ima give this album a 9.25/10...its very good....."Twitta me a picture, lemme see that OK" LOL

The Weeknd's Trilogy Review

It’s very difficult to review an album with 30 songs, but I can tell you that this guy has the ladies goin crazy so I need to review this. The production is really good and cohesive. His lyrics are pretty good but offly repetitive sometimes. However that’s a minor complaint. The 2 nd disc, Thursday seems to be the weakest but none of the discs are bad. I’d like to see him diversify his topics more, otherwise I think this guy will have a lengthy career. I give this album an 8.25/10 or for u mathmatecians, round it to an 8 lol. Thanks for reading

God of War Ascenscion Review

Ah yes, another God of War game for PS3. This is a great game, but i cant help but think that Santa Monica is either A)Running out of ideas or B) Rushing games . I dont know which it is but Ascension is the worst out of God of War 1-4...(Not counting the PSP games, those were too easy). Anyways, let me get into the review. The game's graphics are just as good as they were in GOW3 but they seem a little less glossy and more dark. The camera angles are annoying as it gives you a huge view of the battle area. The gameplay is still loads of fun. In fact this game has some really unique gameplay mechanics that are the best series. You can grapple opponents with a simple touch of R1, and circle is used for physical attacks which later become used to use special items like spears, swords, or a club. You also get the elemental powers added to your blades which makes for some cool attacks. As far the difficulty goes, its pretty challenging but I died most from the puzzles, not the co
