From Worst to Best: Drake

Heartbreak drizzle! 8) What a Time to Be Alive (84)- Drake’s collaboration with Future is his worst album and its just a collection of songs that don’t really be about much of nothing special. Still catchy tho. If you like Future you won’t mind these songs. Top Tracks: Jumpman, Big Rings, Digital Dash. 7) Take Care (87)- Take Care…mufu**in Take Care. Some songs have grown on me, but to me, this is Drake’s weakest solo body of work. Its too sappy, some songs are too long. However there are some serious gems here like “Headlines”. “Take Care” with Rihanna is hawt, and so is “Lord Knows” with Rick Ross. To me this is the most Drake Drake album lol. TT: Make Me Proud, Lord Knows, The Motto, Headlines, Crew Love, Marvin’s Room. 6) Thank Me Later (89)- The album that made me a Drizzy fan…yeah you read right. The album is loaded with star power…how could Drake fail? He didn’t! I think he didn’t balance his singing that well with the rapping here, but it was his first off

From Worst to Best: Lupe Fiasco

The Midwest Lyrical wordsmith's albums will be ranked!!! If you're a long time reader you might know how some of the albums rank already....just enjoy the post. 6) L.A.S.E.R.S. (83)- The Acronym “Love Always Shines Everytime Remember to Smile” is what this album stands for. This isn’t a bad album, but honestly its his worst. The production is somewhat weak; Lupe’s lyrics are nothing special either. There are some great songs here like “Words I Never Said”, “The Show Goes On”, and “All Black Everything”. The latter is like a reverse American kind of song…it’s dope. The album isn’t quite skippable, but for a first time listener to Lupe I wouldn’t recommend this one… Top Tracks: I Don’t Wanna Care Right Now, The Show Goes On, Word’s I Never Said, All Black Everything 5) Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 (92)- This was a very odd period for Mr. Fiasco. He was coming off his worst album, and wanted to make a follow up to what some call his best

From Worst to Best: The Game

Arguably the best rapper of our generation from the West Coast...lets look at this discography ranked! I'm not including O.K.E., Streets of Compton, or Block Wars..... 9) Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf (83)- It really shouldn’t surprise you that this is Game’s weakest album. Sure, it’s a collaborative album but there is enough Game present here to save it. There are some strong tracks here and there like “Really” which features T.I., 2 Chainz, Soulja Boy, and Yo Gotti. There’s just too much filler. Top Tracks: F.U.N., The Purge, Really, Bigger than Me, Black on Black. 8) Jesus Piece (89)- JP is an underrated album. Sure his lyricism isn’t as good as on the RED Album, but this one has some serious bangers on it. However, there’s just too many guests. The production is good also. I think this album’s biggest flaw is it doesn’t seem to have a story behind it like ….every other Game album. The theme is very loose as well. TT: Ali Bomaye, See No Evil, Pray, Church. 7)

Album Review: Drake More Life

Drizzy Drake has retuned with a follow up to Views, and its really good. The playlist as he calls it, is really cohesive. Drake does a lot of singing here, but not TOO MUCH. He’s a certified popstar now, not just a rapper. Glow with Kanye West is fire, as is Passionfruit. The album feels like leftovers from Views, but you better eat these lol. The album doesn’t have as much replay value as I’d hope but it still has some. It’s a tad too LONG. The production is really good as are Drake’s bars. Well I’m not sure what he will do from here but rest assured he’s rap’s biggest star right now in 2017. Verdict: 9.2

Album Review: Kendrick Lamar DAMN

NEW KUNG FU KENNY! K.dot has returned with an album I was really hoping he would make. I mean, strong narrative albums seem to be his forte’ but this one, I just an album….and a damn good one. The singer assisted songs Love and Loyalty (feat. Zacari and the latter feat. Rihanna) are great tracks. Humble, the lead single is f***ing fire. The production is really great, which you may or may not expect. His lyricism, is great, but not up to his usual standards. Hey a 9.5/10 is nothing to complain about! Overall the album feels refreshing and is a very very accessible, something that TPAB was not. Verdict: 9.7/10

From Worst to Best Star Wars

Star Wars Ranking Eligible Movies: Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One,A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Force Awakens, The Last Jedi 9) Phantom Menace- I love all Star Wars movies but this one out of the bunch is the weakest. The movie is SLOW. The dialogue is bad…..its saving grace is the pod race and the final battle which has multiple fronts. In particular, it has a beast lightsaber fight, which at the time was the best. Anakin, Qui Gon, And Obi Wan are great in this movie, but then there’s Jar Jar …..nuff said. Lol. (7.5) 8) Attack of the Clones- Okay I admit it, I like this movie more than PM. I mean it is also SLOW. However it plays out like a mystery movie so its cool. The sequence at the end is better than PM’s scene. Seeing Yoda fight for the first time is awesome. The dialogue might be the worst in the saga. I did like Anakin here however, albeit he would only be cooler in ROTS. (8) 7)Rogue One- This is a

Album Review: Young Thug JEFFREY

Verdict: 8.4 I’m not a Young Thugger fan, but this album is kinda hot. His lyrics are absolutely insane, and I don’t mean 10/10 either. I mean they are weird af. The beats are good tho. He’s named the songs after celebrities...then there’s also a song named after Harambe, the gorilla. Pick Up the Phone with Travis Scott is good. The production is good throughout. I feel he needed maybe a couple more guest features but hey, I think he’s the new Lil Wayne…..lol.

NBA 2k Playoffs Simulator

I know you're just itching to see who wins this year in the NBA. Well 2k has already shown me the future lol...nah just kidding. But these are accuarte playoff positions with accurate player stats so lets get into it. First Round  Warriors beat Blazers in 7. Clippers beat Jazz in 6. Rockets beat Thunder in 6, Grizzlies in 6. Bulls beat Celtics in 7, Wizards over Hawks in 5. Raptors over Bucks in 7. Pacers beat Cavs in 7. I actually think Each Western result is possible in R1. But lets be real, Warriors in 5 and Grizzlies in 7 if they do win. The East isn’t as crazy as you think. I could see Boston losing to that Bulls team. Wizards in 7, Raptors in 6 or less and Cavs could lose in 7…..maybe. 2 nd Round Warriors sweep Clippers, Rockets win over Grizz in 7. Bulls beat Wizards in 6, Pacers beat Raptors in 6. Okay I really don’t think the Clippers would be swept. But I think the Rockets could beat Grizz in 7 and no less. There is no way in hell the Wizards

From Worst to Best: Ludacris

If you don't know Ludacris was my first favorite rapper, So i take you to the dirty dirty south's biggest mouth's discography. Lets get into it! 8) Battle of the Sexes 75: Luda’s concept album isn’t as bad as people want you to think. Negative wise, the album has a lot of filler. Some of the guests spots aren’t that great like Flo Rida. Shawna appears on most of the songs, but she does little to help the album. “My Chick Bad” featuring Nicki is dope as hell. The remix is hot too, kinda of a successor to “Whats Your Fantasy” from his first album. “Sexting” is hilarious. It’s a not a bad album all things considered, just very hit and miss. Top Tracks: Sexting, My Chick Bad, MCB Remix, Sex Room, Can’t Live With You, How Low. 7)  Back for the First Time 76: The first album from Mr. Bridges barely beats out BotS. Its really just a typical early 2000s rap album. Its has some monster hits like, “What’s Your Fantasy” and “Southern Hospitality”. The beats are good, and his

Go Shorty, It's' My B-day

Since I'm off today, I thought i'd just make a short post. I'm blessed to see another year today!!!! Yes I am 29 years old.....sheesh I'm getting old!! Be Patient readers. I've got a lot of music reviews in the works. I know you'll like it.

From Worst to Best: Kanye West

Anyone that follows this blog or knows me knows that I am a huge Kanye West fan. But which albums are the best , or the worst? LEts get into it! I will be including Watch the Throne and Cruel Summer here. 9) 808s and Heartbreak-80: This is the oddball in his discography. I always liked this album even if it took some getting used to. He abuses auto-tune here. I think it works for the most part like on songs like “Paranoid” and “Heartless”. Kanye sings a LOT on this album. The lyrics aren’t up to K’s standards(Old Kanye or New). The songs are pretty catchy however. This album kind of changed the game so if it were which Kanye album was most important, this would be higher on the list. Top Tracks: Heartless, Love Lockdown, Coldest Winter, Amazing. 8) Watch the Throne-91: I really like this album, but it sounds a little more dated than some of the other albums on this list. It’s a very well rounded album with high replay value. “Made In America” is the worst song and is quite cor

From Worst to Best: Eminem

It's time to rank the discography of the "Great white Rapper". I will not include D-12 albums or Shady XV. 10)  Infinite-75: Em’s first body of work is decent but really nothing special. It’s just so overmatched by his later works….but if you want to listen to his beginnings give it a spin. 9)  Encore-80: This is a good album…but its like Eminem was literally running out of things to talk about. There are some gems here, but most of the songs are mid level. The production is good and the lyrics are decent. He was clearly on drugs for songs like “My 1 st Single” and the retarded “Rain Man”. Top Tracks: Like Toy Soldiers, Just Lose It, Ass Like That, Mosh. 8)  Bad Meets Evil-85: Em finally teamed up with Royce da 5’9’’ again for a whole album. BME is a dope project. It was nice to hear Em rap ferociously after a more laid back Recovery album. Royce holds his own too, he even says, “Now I’m 2 nd best, I can deal with that.” The lyricism is really good, but the

Album Review: Eminem Relapse Refill

Relapse Refill was a nice set of a bonus tracks to Eminem’s Relapse album. It starts with Forever, but I consider that a Drake song. The production on Hell Breaks Loose featuring Dr. Dre is perfect. I didn’t enjoy Buffalo Bill at all. The rest of the songs are good tho, especially Elevator. So basically this is more of the same. If you liked Relapse refill your prescription…. Verdict: 8.8

Album Review: Ludacris The Red Light District

I am a big Ludacris fan, and I have fond memories of this album. The album is kinda like Ludacris trying to be much more experimental. Lyrically he’s really dope here. Check out his confident flow on the Intro and the raw delivery on Get Back. Child of the Night and Hopeless, are a more thoughtful Luda. I have to mention the posse cut songs, Pass Out and Who Not Me. Both songs are absolutely atrocious….skip them…trust me lol. Overall with all this star power how could Luda fail? He even included Virgo with Nas and Doug E. Fresh. Verdict: 8.8
