The Roots And Then You SHoot Your Cousin Review

The Roots have come back with an interesting album. Its one of the more creative LPs to ever come out, but then again isn’t that what the ROOTS always do? The production is old classy style. What really grabs my attention are the lyrics, and how dark the album is compared to the last Roots albums I’ve heard. Black Thought leads the charge, and does well everytime he raps. Theres a lot of singing, especially at the end of the album. I don’t really understand the album’s title…but the album deals with a lot subject wise. Its not my favorite Roots album, but it’s still one of the more cohesive rap albums this year. I give this album a 8/10

Jeezy's Seen It All Review

I am a big Jeezy(Young) fan and I can say overall this album delivers. The weakest thing about it are the beats, which aren’t bad. Jeezy raps with the same kind of fast flow that was prevalent on the Recession album. The first half of so of the album has no guest spots, then about every song after that has one. Its an odd construction but it works. The guest spots are well used. I really liked Jay-z, August Alsina, and Lil Boosie’s verses. Of course one of the best songs is the lead single Me OK. Overall I cant say Jeezy’s skills are diminishing but he’ll have to really switch it up for his next album.   Ima give this a 8/10...HAHA
