Album Review: Travis Scott-Astroworld

This review is kinda late but I saw no rush to get it out lol. Travis Scott's 3rd solo album is pretty good. The beats are vibrant and the hooks are catchy. He doesn't really have any great themes in his music beyond the usual rapper tropes. His lyrics are very average. There are some good features on here like Drake, The Weeknd, and 21 Savage. Ultimately the album is good but it gets kinda repetitive as you go down it. All in all it doesn't really get better than "Sicko Mode" and "R.I.P. Screw". "Stop Trying to be God" is entirely too long but I guess its decent song. I kinda like Travis Scott and I think this might be his best album yet. Lyrics: 19 Beats: 24 Depth: 22 Tilt: 22 Verdict: 87

Album Review: Run The Jewels-RTJ4

I knew this album would be fire when it was announced and it really is off the goddamn chain! RTJ4 is arguably their best work yet. The rhymes hit hard and the beats thump. "JU$T" is a dope song that features Pharrell Williams. Its really smooth but impactful. The duo, Killer Mike and El-P, also touch on police brutality which is very very relevant today. I really like "Walking in the Snow" which features Gangsta Boo. It's so raw man. "Ooh la la" is another fire song. I actually didn't really dislike any songs...but I suppose its not better than Run the Jewels 2 which came out in 2014. The Yankee and the Brave are one of the best rap groups of all time in case you didn't think so before. Lyrics: 25 Beats: 24 Depth: 24 Tilt: 24 Verdict: 97

Video Game Blog: Nintendo Switch Review

This is a review of the standard Nintendo Switch that I got in early 2018. I actually sold my Xbox One S to get it. I think it was worth it. Let’s get into the review. The Nintendo Switch doesn’t have much in terms of media features and you cannot even send friend messages between friends. This is a gamer’s game system to the fullest. The biggest selling point is being able to take Triple A games on the go with you or just play them on the TV. I really like this feature but I usually play in handheld mode even though its only 720p. The Switch controllers are really dope. They have HD Rumble and are very unique. I like how they can attach to the Switch or be played separately. Also the Pro controller is very comfortable. The games are absolutely great. I haven’t played that many but the ones I have really impressed me. Zelda Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are my favorite. All in all the Switch is a great system. I rea

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Crash Talk

I'm not gonna lie, this album didn't impress me much on first listen....Schoolboy Q is one of my favorite rappers from Black Hippy, but I think he dropped the ball with this one. I really like "5200"; its a dope song. Most of these songs are slower and actually not that clever to me. I guess its cause his last album, Blank Face LP, was a terrific album. This one is passable however. I like his flow and the beats slap. I just don't see much reason to go back to this one tho. Well we've heard some good and some bad. Let's give it a score. Lyrics: 22 Beats: 22 Depth: 20 Tilt: 18 Verdict: 82

Album Review: Tinashe- Songs for You

Tinashe's 4th album is really well rounded. The album starts out well; and then the 3rd track, "Hopscotch" has a really cool swag sound to it. The radio guy says, "Its hot outside like LeBron in the 4th quarter" lol. The next two songs: "Stormy Weather" and "Save Room for Us", are very smooth. There's not really that many incredible songs like on her album Joyride but the lows aren't as low on this album. There's not many guests and honestly, G-Eazy is forgettable lol. The production is smooth but nothing too spectacular. Tinashe holds her own here ...I'd hate too keep comparing her to the late Aaliyah but now she has more albums than her and her career is still looking bright.      Lyrics: 22 Beats:21 Depth:24 Tilt: 23 Verdict: 90
