Chesstown King's Reviews and Thoughts

I gotta admit this might be the best OutKast album. The lyricism is so great here and it’s very well produced also. "Rosa Parks" is simply one of my favorite rap songs of all time. It's infectious. The title track is somber but really good too. "Skew It On The Bar-B" was another highlight. "Da Art of Storytelling', Pt.1 and Pt. 2 are really creative too. I recognize the beat of Pt. 1 was used by J. Cole on his Born Sinner album years later. Big Boi does a great job on "West Savannah". While maybe one of the weaker songs, I kinda liked "Mamacita". It was different. The final 2 songs, "Liberation" and "Chonkyfire" are long but excellent. Overall yeah this album is further proof that Outkast is the best rap duo. This is one of the dirty south's best albums imo.  Lyrics 25 Beats 23 Depth 25 Tilt 25 Verdict 98

I gotta admit I really like this Outkast album....to me it was ahead of its time. Not to mention it's the highest selling rap album in the United States. Speakerboxx is Big Boi's half and its a damn good rap album. The production is sharp...and most every song is great. "GhettoMusick" is the perfect opener. "The Way You Move" is the smooth stand out single. I really like "Tomb of Boom" too. "Flip Flop Rock" featuring Killler Mike and Jay-Z is just straight fire. Then theres's Andre 3000's The Love Below which is pretty damn good in its own right. "Love Hater" is kind of a average opener. "Happy Valentine's Day" is a banger tho. "She Lives In My Lap" is an amazing song in its own right with that funky beat. The singles "Hey Ya" and "Roses" are amazing too. Overall this is a pretty fun listen....maybe a tad bit too long but still great. 3 Stacks singing and rapping is very effec...

Verdict: 8.5/10 Ah the debut album from Outkast. It’s not as interesting but I didn’t expect a whole lot from it. Lyrically its sound, and the beats are pretty good too. Some songs drag on too much like Funky Ride. Git Up, Get Out is a great song; as is Ain’t No Thang. Players Ball is another stellar track. I hope we get a new Outkast album one day….Big Boi and 3 Stacks are both elite rappers. #BringOutkastBack

Arguably Outkast’s greatest album. This is the album that propelled them to superstardom. The radio singles are excellent(So Fresh So Clean, BOB,Ms Jackson), but there’s so much more here. The beats are terrific and their lyricism doesn’t leave much desired. The themes are interesting too like on I’ll Call Before I Come. We Luv Deez Hoez is another banger The skits are funny but kinda weigh the album down. The album will go down as one everyone that likes rap should own.  The verdict is a  9.75/10
