Video Game BLog- Pokemon (Gotta Catch Em All)

If you didn’t know, I am a big Pokemon fan. However Pokemon has started to lose its luster. Pokemon is an RPG that gained popularity in Japan and other areas of the world in the late 90s. I’m going to focus primarily on the Video games, even though there is a TV show and card game.             Pokemon is an RPG(Role Playing Game). You play as a young boy(or girl in newer ones). Your character doesn’t fight or get stronger, instead Pokemon fight your battles. They have different types such as Fire, Water, Electric, Rock, Psychic, and a few more. They also learn moves that have different elemental types. You basically just train them and try to beat Gym Leaders, which are bosses. Then you challenge the Elite 4 which are like the final boss. In the first Pokemon versions, Red, Blue, and Yellow; you had to fight your rival at the end of the game.             I really loved Pokemon as a kid. I remember playin the games on the Gameboy Color. Later Pokemon Gold and Silver came out, w

Album Review: G-Unit's Beg For Mercy

G-Unit’s debut album was really good. 50 was still on top, and the soldiers (Lloyd Banks, Yayo, & Young Buck) hadn’t dropped albums yet. The album is nothing new but the production is really good. 50 is on most songs. The singles are awesome, but My Buddy, Footprints, Groupie Love, and Betta Ask Somebody are also great. Some songs are obvious filler, like I’m So Hood. Overall this is a great listen. The verdict: 8.75/10 Ge Ge Ge G-UNIT!

The Best Rap Albums I've Ever Reviewed List (Vol. 1, albums 27-18)

This is a top 27 list. It will be blogged as 3 separate posts.  Albums may have the same rating but I will decide which is better. Lauryn Hill’s album will be counted even tho I’ve listed it as an R&B album. Dont like the list(s). Let me know which albums shoulda made the list. 27) Life Is Good-Nas: This offering from the Queens Bridge Mc is greatness. His lyrics are sharp, and the production is better than on Untitled. The album has a high level of cohesiveness to it.  26) Stankonia-Outkast: This is the album that brought the successful group superstardom. Who could forget Ms. Jackson, one of rap's best songs period. The album is a funky yet smooth listen. 25) Man on the Moon-Kid Cudi- Kid Cudder's 1st album is his best to date. Moody, Dark, yet blissful all at the same time. 2009 rap album of the year for me. 24) Paper Trail- T.I- T.I.'s 2008 outing was perhaps his best. Great beats, varied songs, and great lyricism. 23) Blackstar- Mos Def

Disc Battle Volume 6: Kendrick Lamar's GKMC vs. TPAB

Final Result: An incredibly tough battle. Kendrick’s albums stack up in all categories, except singles. I just found GKMC’s singles to be a tad bit better. Legacy is a tie as well because on TPAB Kdot avoided the sophomore slump…stay tuned for more disc battles! Album Review: Tinashe's Aquarius

Yo Tinashe is hawt dawg. Uh the music too. LOL. I absolutely love the 2 On song. Other songs are slower, and others are high tempo. There’s not a big guest list either. I don’t really have much to say about this album, her singing isn’t spectacular, but then again most R&B singers are in the same boat. This is a great debut album and I look forward to her future projects. TURN UP! Is she the 2 nd coming of the baby girl?? Ok I’ll stop. The verdict.....my review is a little misleading cause its a  9/10

Album Review: Vince Staples's Summertime '06

Vince Staples returns with his first full length album, and it’s really good. The album is very dark. In fact for me, personally, Summer 06 was a dark as well. No ID, Kanye’s mentor, produced a lot of tracks here. The beats are banging and Vince is a very capable rapper. The album is a double disc, but each is short so really its just about 60 mins long. I don’t normally say this, but some songs shoulda been longer.  There is a short guest list here as well. Overall though I think this is a shade above his EP Hell Can Wait. Vince may be the next great rapper, I mean after the guys that are already established: Drake, Kendrick, J.Cole etc. The verdict: I really like this album, its not quite an elite rap album tho but hey its a debut... 9.4/10

Album Review: Meek Mill's Dreams Worth More Than Money

Meek Mill 2 nd album is a good listen. I didn’t like his first album that came out in 2012, but this one is legit. The beats are fire, and lyrically its not bad. Meek yells on the tracks as you might expect. He shows some lyrical proficiency however. The guest list is good: Swizz Beatz, Future, Jeremih, Chris Brown, The Weekn’d, Diddy, his boss, Rick Ross, and his gf Nicki Minaj. I like the 2 Nicki Minaj assisted songs more than the ones that Meek assisted on Nicki’s album.  Meek isn’t a great rapper but he got enough help this time around! The verdict?? 8.5/10

Album Reveiw: Joe Budden's Some Love Lost

Joe Budden’s latest album is an emotional roller coaster. Joe raps about his problems with women and just problems in general. The album is a nice change up from his last album, No Love Lost, which had some club bangers on it. Most of the songs are pretty long here. Devil In My Room might be the best track here. I’m still waiting for Joe to make an album as good as his debut album. The verdict 8.5/10

Album Review: Snoop Dogg's BUSH

Snoop Lion is no more! The return of one of rap’s legendary rappers, SNOOP DOGG. But wait he’s barely rapping here. Hmm. I know what you’re thinking, but its actually a solid album. The beats are hot but some sound a bit too similar. The album was produced by Pharrell Williams who leaves his mark. Stevie Wonder, Charlie Wilson, T.I., Gwen Stefani, also join the party. But wait, he’s got 2 different rappers, Rick Ross and Kendrick Lamar on the final track. This is a smooth album. The Verdict: The new style works well 8.75/10

Video Game Review: Zelda Majora's Mask 3D

Zelda Majora's Mask....was one of my least favorite Zelda's when i played it on N64 over 10 years ago. However maybe that's just because I rage quitted on the final boss and never beat it.  However after playing this new version, for the 3ds, I gotta say its one of my favorites. This Majora features Young Link only, but he still rides Epona and still has sweet items like the Bow and Hookshot. You also get Masks which allow you to transform into a Deku, Goron, and Zora. This adds whole new gameplay mechanics. Deku Link flies, Goron Link Rolls, and Zora Link swims. Yes Masks are the lure of the game as there are plenty to collect and many do diffrent things..like the bunny hood which makes Link run faster. The game is like Ocarina of Time only in presentation and controls. The game has 4 main dungeons, and since you have to keep going back in time with the Song of Time before the 3 day time limit, there's an opportunity to redo old dungeons and events related to
