Album Review: Kid Cudi-Man on the Moon III: The Chosen

Kid Cudi returns with another solo album, and man this one is pretty damn good. It's a sequel to his Man on the Moon 2 album from 2010. The production is fantastic on most songs. Sometimes tho, lyrically I felt I had lost interest in Cudi's rapping but for the most part the album delivers. Songs like "Show Out" are really dope. "The Void" is classic Kid Cudi also. "Elsie's Baby Boy" is one of the weaker tracks but even that grew on me. I really liked pretty much every track here. Ultimately I think this is a good album and certainly worthy of Kid Cudi's varied discography. That replayablity (tilt) is high man. Lyrics 22 Beats 24 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 92

Album Review-Ariana Grande-Positions

Ariana is back with her 3rd album in 3 years. You'd expect there to be some serious slowdown or lack in quality....maybe from a creative standpoint; but I really like this album. The album features Doja Cat, The Weeknd, and Ty Dolla $ign. From a subject matter standpoint, it just doesnt have as much versatility as her previous 2 albums. Her singing is on point tho, and the beats are great. There are some highlights here like "34+35", "motive", "nasty" and the title track. I really do like this album but when I listen to it I feel like I'd rather listen to her previous albums instead. I do still feel Ariana is a force in Pop....maybe the biggest Pop diva besides Lady Gaga and Dua Lipa. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 21 Verdict 91

Album Review: Megan Thee Stallion-Good News

I was honestly not looking forward to this review....but that doesn't mean its not good. Megan is back with actual official studio album. The subject matter is pretty much the same as the last album I reviewed (Fever). This time however there's a bigger guest list like Beyonce', Young Thug, City Girls, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, SZA, and DaBaby....again. On the first song "Shots Fired" she goes after ex Tory Lanez. Its a good track that samples that Notorious B.I.G. song. The last regular track is dope too. She uses the Eazy-E sample to great effect. She pretty much just raps about sex on most of these songs and I know the fans love it, but it gets old. "Body" is somehow catchy and annoying and the same time. Megan is a good rapper and her beat selection here is better than on Fever. I honestly don't know if she can outdo this tho....I feel Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are better rappers. Overall tho its a good album. Lyrics: 23 Beats: 24 Depth:21 Tilt: 22 Verd

Album Review: Jeezy-The Recession 2

Wow you know I thought Jeezy retired last year in 2019, but here he is back with a sequel to 2008's The Recession. Off the bat the album is better than TM104 but its not as good as the original Recession. Jeezy seems more focussed lyrically. This album starts off well with "Oh Lord" which features a very fired up Tamika Mallory. The song is really good and sets the stage well. Songs like "Back" and "Da Ghetto" are good too. I like E-40 on the latter track. My favorite track might be "My Reputation" which actually features Demi Lovato. I've heard that sample before but it works really well here. The production is nothing to really write home about but this is a solid album. I'm glad Jeezy is still making music. HA HA! Lyrics 23 Beats 20 Depth 24 Tilt 23 Verdict 90
