In Depth Review: Eminem-Encore

Opening Opinion 8/10                 Okay so this is an in depth review of Em’s fourth album, Encore…sadly I have a bootlegged copy with no skits so I won’t talk about those. Encore is known as being Em’s worst album….and in my opinon that is true. Let’s get into it….                 The album starts with “Evil Deeds”, an up tempo oddball of a song…I really like the chorus however. Em equates heavenly father to his father who he never got the chance to know. Interesting right? “Never Enough” features and excellent Nate Dogg hook, and 50 Cent. I really like the song but wish it was longer. “Yellow Brick Road” is easily one of Em’s most introspective songs period. And unlike other songs he’s done, this one is pretty much 100% truth. Em raps about being white and admiring black culture, and his relationship with a black woman who I’m assuming was named Kim,(Not his ex wife) In fact he even references the “old foolish pride girl” here.                 “Like Toy Soldiers” is anot

My Favorite Video Games of the Year 2017

*I only listed games i've played so no Nintendo games from the switch are here* 5. Star Wars Battlefront 2- SWBF2 is the sequel to the 2015 reboot of Battlefront. You’ve all heard about the play to win thing…easy on the microtransactions bro. Overall I really like this game. The worst thing about it is the same thing as the last installment; when you fight you don’t feel like you are making all that much difference in the battles. The game looks terrific. It’s more in depth than SWBF1. If I were to score it, I’d give it a 7.5. 4.Uncharted Lost Legacy-I really like Uncharted games. This one you don’t play as Nathan Drake, but rather Chloe Frazier. The game is amazing. It looks terrific. The puzzles are interesting too. It falls short of the narrative of Uncharted 4 and kinda feels like Uncharted 4.5. Still tho I cannot wait to beat it. 3.Tekken 7-This might be the pinnacle of Tekken. The game is literally flawless from a technical stand point. The game looks great. I lov

Best Rap Albums of 2017 (2nd Half)-July to December

*I could not get to all the album in time to put some on this list, but they'll be there on the year ends list* 1.        Big K.R.I.T.: 4eva is a Mighty Long Time (98)-In our 2 nd half albums BK reigns supreme. The album is amazing. Everything works. The duality of the album works. The production works, his hooks are fire. The real question is will it be #1 or #2 on the final list for 2017. 2.        Tyler the Creator: Flower Boy (95)- Another terrific album and the best TtC album to date. I loved almost every song here. The production is amazing and great lyrics too. Where does he go from here? 3.        Cyhi The Prynce: No Dope On Sundays (95)-This album much awaited, and it delivered. Cyhi proves he’s a great rapper. I gotta hear this one some more ya feel me…. 4.        Rapsody: Lalia’s Wisdom (94)-I was really feeling this album. So friggin soulful mane. Her rhymes rival some of the best MCs…..she might be the best female rapper today. 5.        Talib Kweli: Radio

Album Review: Eminem Revival

The greatest selling rapper of all time has returned after a 4 year hiatus. The album is great, but not quite as great as MMLP2. Albeit the production is solid, and his lyrics aren’t far behind MMLP2. The album starts with “Walk On Water” which features Beyoncé. The song grew on me. This album feels a lot like Recovery which makes sense as it is a sequel to that album. Some songs sound too similar….and too popish tho. “Like Home” Alicia Keys is great. I really like the 3 rd song here. He tries some different rap styles and its dope. The album closer is also really good. Overall I can understand why this album is so polarizing but hey; he’s not slim shady anymore….he’s Eminem. Verdict: 9.2

My Top 20 Action/ Science Fiction Movies

1.        Star Wars Revenge of the Sith-Originally ROTJ was my favorite star wars but this one takes the cake. Its action packed, and it wraps up the first 6 movies beautifully. I really think the action puts it over ROTJ for me. This movie does not get old. Better than AOTC and TPM put together! 2.        The Matrix-The Matrix is another movie that is up there for best sci fi movie of all time. It’s pacing is a little slow, but other than that; Flawless and incredibly trend setting. 3.        Star Wars Return of the Jedi-Originally my favorite movie. I love this movie. Maybe I’ve seen it more than any other OT movie. The Return of Anakin Skywalker at the end is greatness. 4.        Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen-I really like everything about this movie. It’s got a decent story but that fight in the forest is still the best TF fight scene to date…and that’s saying something. 5.        Lord of the Rings Return of the King-Return of the King is one of the best movies of a

Album Review: K. Michelle-Kimberly: The People I Used to Know

This woman is on fire! On the first song “Alert”, K showcases her rapping ability which is just what she did on her last album. While her last 2 albums have been incredible, she seems to be in prime form on this album. The production is great too. Her vocal ability doesn’t leave much else to be desired. The album first half is really more uptempo, but the 2 nd half has more thoughtful songs. “Talk to God” and “Run Don’t Walk” are some excellent songs. “Kim K” is a really interesting song too. All in all this might be the best R&B album I’ve heard in 2017. Verdict: 9.9

Album Review: Cyhi the Prynce-No Dope On Sundays

I’ve been waiting for this album for a long time! And it delivers! Cyhi asked for east coast sounding beats not southern trap rap beats. He is a lyrical beast for sure, but I don’t feel the lyrics are above a 9/10. That production I mentioned is also really good. The album has an incredible amount of cohesion and strong guest features from the likes of Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, and Travis Scott. Songs like Nu Africa are dope af, but kind of just what I’d excpect from Cyhi. Overall this is a strong album. He’s going to be around for a while. Verdict: 9.5/10

Album Review: Migos-Culture

IDK what the hell these MIGOS guys are rapping about. The raps have no messages. Yes the beats are pretty hot but this is clearly TRAP RAP…..I’m not saying I don’t like some of these songs but damn…Offset, Quavo….and the other guy, sh**! “Bad and Bougie” is one of the best songs, but literally that’s good for this album. The production and hooks I did enjoy tho. So it passes…but not with flying colors. I just was expecting more from such a critically acclaimed album man. Verdict: 7.3/10

Album Review: Faith Evans and The Notorious B.I.G.-The King & I

Faith joins her late husband, rap juggernaut Biggie Smalls here. The album is well produced, and the lyrics are pretty good too. Unfortunately, some of these raps aren’t new from Biggie. A lot of songs end up sounding like they just have Faith singing with Biggie snippets. The album isn’t bad however. It’s a little long sure, and the skits I could really do without. Faith Evans is a great R&B artist and this was a great idea for her to do. Verdict: 8/10
