Album Review: Ludacris-Battle of the Sexes

A concept album that wasn’t executed that well. The beats are good, the lyrics are good, but not up to typical luda standards. And the depth is fine too. Where the album fails is the songs aren’t all that interesting, and most of them don’t meaure up to the excellent How Low, or MCB with Nick Minaj, or MCB remix. Sexting is a hilarious track and a good treat at the end of this uneven album. This album is a little better than I remember. Maybe that’s just due to most 2015s and on rap being…..sub par. IDK. The album concept was weak but there are some serious hits here. Not bad Luda and Shawna! Overall Rating 75 (Who won…the ladies won) Lyrics 19 Beats 19 Depth 20 Tilt 17

Album Review: Chingy Jackpot

You know what, before he fell off the map, Chingy was one of my favorite rappers. Sure, he’s very similar to Nelly, but this is a good album.  The beats or production are very good. I don’t really have much to say about this album. With the exception of Holiday Inn, its very cookie cutter/dated rap music. The production is absolute fire. The album is pretty deep too. Chingy’s lyrics are alright. Passable, you know. People accused him of being a Nelly clone…well yeah he kinda was. Verdict: 8.4

Album Review: Ludacris Chicken & Beer

Luda’s 2 nd best album is C&B. It’s a lot of fun to listen to, despite very minor flaws. There’s lots of great songs here like Stand Up, Blow It Out, Screwed Up, and Splash Waterfalls. And that Intro song tho! Lyrically Luda’s as good as he’s ever been. The production is also very hot. The last 2 songs are also very very good. We Got is a perfect posse cut featuring Chingy. (What happened to him?) Anyway things aren’t all good. Teamwork is very skippable. I don’t care too much for Hoes in My Room either, which is Snoop Dogg assisted. Overall though it’s a great album with lots of replay value. Verdict: 9.3

Album Review: Ludacris Back for the First Time

Okay so I upped this one’s score. I mean I heard it after his best album WoM. However this is a good album. Luda’s bars are pretty good. The production is solid as well. The singles are hot af. Game Got Switched is awesome as well. I guess I expected more for some reason. Luda is so so silly on this album. Unlike some of his other albums it’s not forced at all. Southern Hospitality is one of the songs that made me a fan of rap period! Verdict: 8/10

From Worst to Best: Ludacris

If you don't know Ludacris was my first favorite rapper, So i take you to the dirty dirty south's biggest mouth's discography. Lets get into it! 8) Battle of the Sexes 75: Luda’s concept album isn’t as bad as people want you to think. Negative wise, the album has a lot of filler. Some of the guests spots aren’t that great like Flo Rida. Shawna appears on most of the songs, but she does little to help the album. “My Chick Bad” featuring Nicki is dope as hell. The remix is hot too, kinda of a successor to “Whats Your Fantasy” from his first album. “Sexting” is hilarious. It’s a not a bad album all things considered, just very hit and miss. Top Tracks: Sexting, My Chick Bad, MCB Remix, Sex Room, Can’t Live With You, How Low. 7)  Back for the First Time 76: The first album from Mr. Bridges barely beats out BotS. Its really just a typical early 2000s rap album. Its has some monster hits like, “What’s Your Fantasy” and “Southern Hospitality”. The beats are good, and his ...

Album Review: Ludacris The Red Light District

I am a big Ludacris fan, and I have fond memories of this album. The album is kinda like Ludacris trying to be much more experimental. Lyrically he’s really dope here. Check out his confident flow on the Intro and the raw delivery on Get Back. Child of the Night and Hopeless, are a more thoughtful Luda. I have to mention the posse cut songs, Pass Out and Who Not Me. Both songs are absolutely atrocious….skip them…trust me lol. Overall with all this star power how could Luda fail? He even included Virgo with Nas and Doug E. Fresh. Verdict: 8.8

Album Review: Ludacris-Theater of the Mind

Luda’s 7 th album, looking back is at an odd place in his discography. It’s a great album which is followed by his worst album, Battle of Sexes. For starters his lyricism is really on point…maybe the best it’s been. Songs like MVP and Undisputed certainly help that claim. He also doesn’t get outdone by neither Nas or Jay Z on I Do It For Hip Hop. The production is also really good. Luda seems focused here to prove he’s a top MC, all while having some fun too. 2 songs in particular, Contagious and Nasty Girl are quite skippable. The Jamie Foxx feature does nothing to help. I Like Chris Rock, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne’s features on the respective songs. Game, Common, & T-Pain are also co-starring, but the most important feature is former rival T.I. Check out this album if you haven’t already. Verdcit: 9/10

Album Review: Ludacris Release Therapy

Luda’s 2006 outing isn’t bad at all. Sure some of the songs sound too similar, but the album has no big weaknesses. The last song could have been left off, but it fits the theme of the album. Runaway Love with Mary J. Blige is a classic. Grew Up a Screw Up with Young Jeezy is awesome, as is Money Maker. The biggest flaw with this album is Luda is being WAY TOO serious. I mean nothing wrong with that but its his funny nature that I love, and its missing here or it feels forced. LUDA! Verdict: 8.7/10

My Thoughts: Ludacris, the Mouf of the South

I meant to make this Luda's b-day which was this month. Luda is a high energy dirty south rapper. He was actually one of the few rappers that got me into rap, along with Jay-z ,Ja Rule and Eminem. I really couldnt feel What's Your Fantasy due to me only being 11 or 12 at the time it came out. Southern Hospitality tho...that was the record. In late 2001 i bought my first album Word of Mouf, along with 2 other Source greatest hits albums. Now that was a while ago. After that I was a certified fan of Ludacris aka Chris Bridges. Lighting struck twice in 2003 with Chicken & Beer. Ironically I bought that with Jay-z's Black Album but it held its own. After that Luda was basically my favorite rapper. Things would change going forward tho. In 2004 Luda dropped another album Red Light District....and by then I had his first album too. BOth albums were good but not great. After 2005 Luda came out with Release Therapy. In 2006 I was off to be a freshman at college. Listeni...

Album Review: Ludacris Ludaversal

Ludacris, the great dirty south hitmaker has finally released his 8 th album. I love that he’s really personal on the album, without coming across as corny. He raps about him not rapping and being a movie star, and being a father and not wanting to go to clubs on Grass is Always Greener. Like with Jeezy’s last album, Luda saves the features for the 2 nd half of the album. The guest spots are well used like Monica on Ocean Skies, which is a tribute to his father, Wayne Bridges, who passed away. Not Long feat. Usher is an inspirational song. Come and See Me with Big K.R.I.T. is dope, as well as the interlude. Lyrically Luda is as sharp as ever, but the beats are good too. The beats are actually the weakest part of the album. The album is constructed very well. I don’t get the feeling that Luda is washed up, but he may be running out of things to rap about.  The verdict is  a 9/10. I'm glad Luda took his time with this one.

Ludacris' Discography

Ludacris’ Discography Ludacris is one of the best dirty south rappers. Here’s a look at his discography. Battle of the Sexes: Luda’s poorly executed concept album. There are just so many things wrong with this album. There’s a bit too many guests. They include Flo-Rida, Lil Kim, Ne-Yo, Lil Scrappy, Trey Songz, Monica, Nicki Minaj, and Shawna. The only real memorable songs are Can’t Live Without You, My Chick Bad and its remix, and How Low…Sexting is a fun song too. D+ Theater of the Mind: Luda’s 2008 album was a step in the right direction. He’s having fun, but at the same time showing off his lyricism. T.I. joins him as one of the many effective guest spots. He’s joined by Nas and Jay-z on I Do It For Hip Hop….and Luda holds his own. Even Chris Rock stops by on Everybody Hates Chris. This is Luda’ s latest great album…which is not good. He needs to make another hot song. A- Release Therapy: Luda’s 2006 outing isn’t his best, but its not that bad either. It’s a mix ...
