Rick Ross Returned in 2021 with a pretty good album. I didn't think much of it at first but it kinda grew on me. "Rapper Estates" featuring Benny the Boucher is dope. Most of these songs are pretty solid actually. This album defiantly has more tilt than Port of Miami 2. However there are some flaws like the song "Wiggle" which just sounds like a lazy club song. "Warm Words in a Cold World" with Wale and Future is pretty smooth. “Outlawz” featuring Jazmine Sullivan and 21 Savage might be the best song. Overall I’d say this is a good cd but it’s just another Ross album basically. Lyrics:22 Beats: 22 Depth: 23 Tilt: 22 Verdict 89

Port of Miami 2 is a sequel to 2006's Port of Miami, his first album. It's a decent album but there's not really any correlation to its predecessor. It just sounds like another Rick Ross album. The lyrics are good tho and the beats are lush. "Turnpike Ike" is pretty hot, as is "Nobody's Favorite". The latter might be the best track on the album.  Another stand out is "Rich N***a Lifestyle" which features the late Nipsey Hustle. "Maybach Music VI" is decent and features John Legend and Lil Wayne. Overall the album is good but not quite as good as Rather You Than Me. Lyrics:22 Beats: 23 Depth: 23 Tilt: 21 Verdict: 89

9. Port of Miami (79): Ross’s debut isn’t bad. The album was very well produced and had a lot of guests. I wasn’t a fan of Ross at all before I heard this.  Lyrically the album is rather weak. Still tho, for a 2006 rap album, its not bad at all. Top Tracks: Push It, Hustlin, White House, Hustlin (Remix) 8.Hood Billionaire (80):  HB is good, but Ross sounds really uninspired on this album. There are some gems…but I seriously think he rushed this since it came out in 2014 after Mastermind. Still the production is good….. TT: Movin Bass, If They Knew, Burn. 7.Trilla (80):  I have slightly more regard for this album over the first 2 albums you saw. Trilla has filler, sure; but there are seriously good songs here. The guests are here too, just like on Port of Miami. The latest Rick Ross is a noticeable improvement over Black Market…in fact, its his best album! The album is plain and simply loaded. The first song, Apple of My Eye, features a vulnerable Ross. His lyriscism is good throughout and the production is varied and enjoyable. There’s a good amount of guest spots also like Young Thug, Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Wale, Dej Loaf, Nas and even Chris Rock. On Powers That Be, he disses Birdman. He whiles out about sexual exploits on She On My Dick. This album is fire. Some songs aren’t as great as others but ima let that slide. RUH! Verdict: 9.3/10

Okay so here we are in the corner again. Breaking down one of my favorite rappers since 2006/2008, William Roberts II aka Rick Ross. Rick Ross didn't impress me at first with his 1st hit single, Hustlin'. I thought the song lacked creativity and lyricism. Both are true, but Ross at first was about hits and catchy records. The dirty south rapper became better on the mic around 2009 with his album Deeper Than Rap. His 2010 outing Teflon Don was a great great album. Style wise Ross is a dirty south rapper, but his sound is far more eclectic like most rappers these days. Ross's delivery has always been good. In fact I think he was one of the best rappers in the 2010-2011 time period. He has had a ton of guest features like on DJ Khaled, Drake,Lil Wayne, Kanye Wesst or Jay Z Albums. The boss has returned for his 3 rd album in 2 years. This one is better than Mastermind and way better than Hood Billionaire. Lyrically Ross has stepped up.  There isn’t really just one song I can say that he really stepped it up; he’s consistent throughout. The beats are pretty good too. Not all trap beats as you might expect.  There’s a lot of guests like Nas, Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and the Dream. This is a solid album and keeps Ross relevant easily. The verdict: 9/10

We get another Ricky Rossay album in 2014, and honestly it’s not bad. The album suffers from lackluster lyricism. The beats aren’t bad, neither is the guest list which includes: Yo Gotti, Snoop Dogg, K Michelle, Boosie Badazz, Big KRIT, and Jay-z. The songs with Jay-z and K Michelle are really good.Ultimately Ross just sounds like he’s going through the motions. It’s not his worst album but it’s a bit of a letdown. 8/10

Ross returns with album #6 …yes he’s currently got 2 more albums than 50 Cent…which is amazing. No this isn’t as good as Teflon Don, but its basically just as good as GFID. Ross doesn’t really try anything too experimental…but there are some really interesting songs up here.  There’s some good guest spots, but Jay-z and Jeezy(Young) steal the show from Ross on those respective songs. Lil Wayne’s verse is forgettable on the last song. I found the Dope B*tch skit laughable but its good to hear those Maybach girls. The good with this album that Ross has no problem making a hit album, but the bad is that its not all that refreshing. Don’t get me wrong Ricky Rosay has come along way since Port of Miami. RUH! Rick Ross God Forgives, I Don’t Track by Track Review Pray for Us- The intro….some guy is praying to God, then u hear a drive by and the famous Rick Ross “RUH” 6.5/10 Pirates- A great intro song. The beat is on point. “We just Pirates tryin to stay float” 8.5/10 3 Kings- Ross is joined by Dr. Dre and Jay-z here. Dre says “listen to this through my headphones”, Ross says “Listen to this in my Maybach”. Jay-z’s verse is good as he says “Niggas can’t f*** with my daughter’s room”. The beat is hot, but lyrically its not as good as it could have been 9/10 Ashamed- This track is really smooth. I love the sample. Ross gets it done. 8.5/10 Maybach Music IV- The 4 th edition of Maybach Music is as smooth as possible but I think it’s the worst of the 4. I thought i'd post a short review on this album before I finish my review on Ross's new album Teflon Don is Ross at his finest either way you look at it. His lyrics are really good, but not really better than they were on his 3 rd album. That album was his best(at the time), but this one is more consistent. Its only 11 songs true, but I prefer this over his first 2 which were heavy on filler. Tears of Joy is good, but BMF does nothing to help him maintain BOSS status. MC hammer and I’m Not a Star have   perfect   beats for Ross. The last 2 songs are really nice, and overall its nice to see Ross releasing yet another varied work. I give this album 9/10.
