My Thoughts 2019 (Part 3)

I have a few things to talk about so lets get it. I'm not doing this like the usual My Thoughts where I break it down by category. I really feel like some personal issues have prevented me from blogging on this site like I used to. I recently got a new laptop for Christmas so the blogs should come with a little more frequency. So if you been rocking with me all this time...my hat goes off to you. Can I just say I'm disappointed with rap music in 2019. I am also disappointed that we didn't get an album from Rihanna this year. I mean sh**....we need that R9 yo. I haven't felt like reviewing that many albums as most have fell short of expectations. Basketball wise I'm enjoying this NBA season. I'm a Laker fan and I'm glad they've gone from playoff chasers to an elite team in the Western Conference. I think the Bucks are the team to beat however. I got Giannis winning MVP for the 2nd year in a row. I want the Lakers to play the Clippers in the Western co...

My final book is done for my series!

Here's a link to my last book. I recommend you read Part One first however. <a href="http://www.lulu.com/commerce/index.php?fBuyContent=25639483"><img src="http://static.lulu.com/images/services/buy_now_buttons/en/orange.gif?20191007080407" border="0" alt="Support independent publishing: Buy this e-book on Lulu."></a>

Album Review: Jeezy-TM104: The Legend of the Snowman

The latest Jeezy offering is decent but considering it's his last album, I cant help but feel let down. The album doesn't have many flashy songs on it. The album has a stale feeling to it. "Big Sh**" and "Look Like" are good songs. "Already Rich" with CeeLo Green was dope. Overall the production was gritty but nothing new. I liked most songs here however like "MLK BLVD" which features Meek Mill. Lyrically Jeezy has spit better but this isn't a bad lyrical performance...I just wish Jeezy was going out with more of a bang than this TM104: the weakest of the Thug Motivations. Lyrics: 22 Beats: 21 Depth: 22 Tilt: 22 Verdict: 87

Album Review: Kanye West-Jesus is King

Kanye's 9th album isn't like anything else in his discography. This is a christian rap album and overall it's pretty good. Ultimately I was wanting more as the album is only 27 minutes long. Kanye seems to have made the album for himself not others. Songs like "Selah" and "Follow God" are excellent. I really liked "Water" and "Closed on Sunday". Who could forget the Clipse reunion on "Use this Gospel". The album isn't stellar lyrically but the production is really solid. I don't know if Yhandi would have been good but this new Christian Kanye ain't that bad. Lyrics: 20 Beats: 24 Depth: 24 Tilt: 23 Verdict: 91

Album Review: Tinashe-Joyride

Tinashe's 3rd album is her best so far...barely. Its really short but I liked almost every song. Her singing and the lyrics are elegant as usual. The production is dope too. The album gets off to a really strong start with the Title track and "No Drama". The latter features Offset of Migos. "Me So Bad" is a lot of fun as is "Stuck With Me". The replayability or Tilt of the album isn't its strong suit. Alot of these songs could go on previous Tinashe albums with ease. Lyrics: 23 Beats: 23 Depth: 23  Tilt: 22  Verdict: 91

My Thoughts- 2019 (part 2)

Welcome to another My Thoughts. This time I'll be talking about what's been going on in this world or just giving you my opinions on some things. Music wise I honestly haven't been all that impressed with the offerings from my artists this year. Sure albums from Rick Ross, Jeezy, and Nas were good; but none were really stellar. The new Common album is pretty good. I wasn't really feeling the Schoolboy Q album much. Shocking, I know. Despite this I got a lot of music reviews to get to. And I plan to keep them coming. Bear with me y'all. Politics wise I am so goddamn sick of Donald Trump I don't know what more I can really say about him. Just impeach the bastard already. He's got our country going down the toilet. On a positive side I've been following the Democratic Debates. I'm really feeling Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar. I'm not a big fan of Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. I love impersonating Bernie tho. Whoever gets the nomination better ...
