My Favorite R&B albums Part Two

Here are some more of my favorite R&B albums

Ne-Yo: In My Own Words- A great debut album that is in my opinion still his best to date. There are some really great songs like So Sick, When You’re Mad, Mirror, and my personal favorite Sexy Love. The songwriting is noteworthy.

Ne-Yo: Year of the Gentlemen- An extremely smooth set of R&B by a veteran. The album literally has no bad songs as Ne-Yo worships women. Although not my favorite song, Fade to the Background is incredibly sad. Most songs on the album are upbeat though.

Rihanna: Good Girl Gone Bad-Rih Rih’s best album to date has some really hot beats, and catchy beats. There aren’t many guest spots but they are well used like her duet with Ne-Yo Hate That I Love You. Some may consider this her last R&B album or simply her best album. Regarless its great.

.Trey Songz- Pain, Passion,Pleasure- The Prince of VA’s most complex album. Its divided into an intro portion, a pain portion, a passion portion, then a pleasure portion. The intro part is the best but there is a lot of good songs, but I wish there were more guest spots besides just Drake and NIcki MInaj.

The Dream- Love King- The American Dream attempted to perfect his style for album 3, and I think he almost pulled it off. The album is a bit long, but the songs are very catchy while some are very cold.

Toni Braxton: Toni Braxton- A classic from an incredible R&B singer. This may be the best album on the list. Toni goes through all of love’s ins and outs. Truly classic stuff. The first 2 songs are enough to keep you going for a while.

Trey Songz- Ready- A great Trey Songz album with numerous bangers like I need a Girl, Say Aah, and LOL J.  Trey seems more in his element lyrically on this album than on any other of his albums.

Keyshia Cole- Just Like You- KC’s best album. Keyshia has an amazing presence on this album. There are very few guest spots also. Let it Go, I Remember, and Last Night are some stand outs.

Usher: Confessions- Usher’s best album is loaded with hit singles like Let it Burn, Confessions, and the iconic Yeah. Even Kanye and Alicia Keys made the album.  I don’t see Usher topping this effort.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Video Game Review: Jedi Fallen Order

I meant to review this game way back in the day when I first beat it but this is coming after my 2nd play-through. This time I played the game on hard difficulty and man was it tough. Compared to Jedi Survivor I think the game has a better story. You join Jedi padawan Cal Kestis as he escapes a scrapyard planet Bracca , fleeing from the Empire. Cal comes face to face with an Inquistor called 2nd sister. You end up fighting her a total of 4 times in the game.  The main story is Cal must help a former Jedi named Cere and her pilot Greez to find a Jedi holocron that has a list of force sensitive children to rebuild the Jedi Order. I gotta say the planets you visit are all for the most part pretty flushed out . I found Zeffo to be the main planet and navigating it is truly awful. Well I’m glad they made navigation better in Jedi Survivor. Of all the planets Dathomir (Darth Mauls planet) was by far the worst. There was tough enemies around every corner there and hard boss fights w...

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...
