Frank
Ocean’s debut is a refreshing R&B
listen. He is very good at painting a picture with his elegant vocals. Pyramids
is a long song, but perhaps the best on the album. Lost and Thinking About You
are also very good. Forest Gump is supposedly written from the point of view of
a female cheerleader, but I think it was Frank’s attempt at hiding his bisexuality.
Pink Matter is a slow but effective song. While Monks and Bad Religion are also
standouts. The album’s beats are good, but not quite perfect. This album could
have used maybe one or more guest spots. However it’s clear that Frank Ocean
keeps the spotlight on the album. This album has a lot of replay value as well .I
don’t really think that he can’t top this stellar album.
Overall, i give mr. Oceania (lol) a 9.5/10......its just that damn good.
