Drake's Nothing Was the Same Review

Drake’s 3^rd album is his best work yet. The album sounds incredibly well excuted. Also I noticed there’s not a huge guest list like on his first 2 albums. Drake is the star here, and isn’t really outshined by anyone except for maybe Jay-z on one song. The album gets off to a good start and doesn’t let up. Drake is a better lyricist this time around. Its not just about wordplay either: He’s varied his delivery here and it works. Started From the Bottom is an anthemic record. Hold On We’re Going Home reminds me of Find Your Love from his 1^st album, but its more uptempo. The beats on this album are also very good. The album has a whole lot of replayability but there are a couple songs at the end that don’t really help the album. Overall its nice to see Drizzy Drake progressing and making a 90+ album I knew he was capable of.

Overall I give this album a 9.5/10......yea I know I gave this score to a lot of albums but this might be the year's best rap album.

Kanye West 2 Part-Post (Revised Top Songs & Album Ranking)

1. Gold Digger- To be honest, I didn’t like this song the first time I heard it. The beat is so infectious, and the lyrics are so clever, and that hook. Its his best song to date! He raps about a gold digging chick lol. 2. All Falls Down- Kanye is extremely introspective on this song. The hook and beat make it great. This is ranked so high because it was the song that really propelled him to superstardom in 2004. 3. Jesus Walks- A controversial song about Jesus being with those in need. Its just plain awesome. But I wouldn’t expect him to make a JW2 lol. Not in a million years. 4. Can’t Tell Me Nothing- The best song on Graduation is dope. It’s a dark sounding banger. Kanye drops lyrical gems here. The Jeezy sample and the other sample are pure genius. 5. Power- The aggressive first single to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy...

Album Review: Kid Cudi-Insano (regular version)

I gotta admit I didn't like this album that much when I first heard it over half a year ago. I've heard that Kid Cudi doesn't exactly play to his strengths....that's partly true. I do like his rapping here tho. Honestly most songs here kinda blend together....."Keep Bouncin'" is really hype....and it gets the album off to a good start. "At The Party" with Pharrell Williams and Travis Scott may be my favorite song. "Wow" with A$AP Rocky is another highlight. Overall tho I feel this album tries too hard to be trendy. Cudi needed to put more of his pain into it. I mean a happy Cudi album isn't a bad thing but it really seems odd to me. You're not getting alot of singing or hums here know what I mean? However the production I found to be very good. Cudi is one of my favorite rappers like top 20 and I guess this will do for 2024. Lyrics 20 Beats 23 Depth 21 Tilt 21 Verdict 85

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93
