My Thoughts-Eminem The Great White Hope

I'm a big Eminem fan, so its only fitting that i give you a little blog about him.

I'm going to rewind to 1999 when he first came out. I remember thinking who is this rapper and yes i thought he was black when i heard My Name Is. Afterwards i was a fan, but not a huge fan. In 2002 i was given his first 2 albums. Also I had managed to get a (Bootleg) cd copy of The Eminem Show. So its safe to say that that is when I became a big fan.

Eminem is a very interesting rapper. He raps mostly about his personal life: His ex wife Kim, his Mother, His Daughter, and then he disses other people( This includes non rappers). He has incredible creativity lyrically. In retrospect you kind of argue that Em was in his prime when he first came out....(Up until right after 8 mile).
8 Mile had one or rap's best songs, Loose Yourself.

Around 2004 he released Encore. It was his worst album to date, but it showed that for once, Shady was losing his ability. I dont blame it entiresly on drugs either. He just couldnt miss as far as hits go from 1999 to 2002.

In 2009 Em dropped Relapse. I remember initially really liking the album. Despite it being horrocore. I think i was just starving for an Eminem album. Eminem later would say on Recovery that he was disapointed with Relapse. In 2010 I thought Em was spitting with much more focus. This was true. Recovery was a great album and a tad bit better than Relapse. There were no skits for once...just straight spitting. His punchlines wern't that great but then again lyrically it was an impressive perfomance.

In 2011 he teamed up with Royce da 5'9 for a short album Bad Meets Evil Hell the Sequel. It was a decent album but it failed to be as good as Recovery or Relapse. In 2013 Em released Marshall Mathers LP 2 which isnt really similar to the first one, but its like a conglomaration album that is, i think Em's 2nd or 3rd best album.

I know Eminem is getting old, but he still has his skills. He's reinvented himself several times. Its clear that Em wasnts to go down as the best rapper ever. I will acknowledge that him being white is a big deal, but with that much skill he's easily a top 5 rapper.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Video Game Review: Jedi Fallen Order

I meant to review this game way back in the day when I first beat it but this is coming after my 2nd play-through. This time I played the game on hard difficulty and man was it tough. Compared to Jedi Survivor I think the game has a better story. You join Jedi padawan Cal Kestis as he escapes a scrapyard planet Bracca , fleeing from the Empire. Cal comes face to face with an Inquistor called 2nd sister. You end up fighting her a total of 4 times in the game.  The main story is Cal must help a former Jedi named Cere and her pilot Greez to find a Jedi holocron that has a list of force sensitive children to rebuild the Jedi Order. I gotta say the planets you visit are all for the most part pretty flushed out . I found Zeffo to be the main planet and navigating it is truly awful. Well I’m glad they made navigation better in Jedi Survivor. Of all the planets Dathomir (Darth Mauls planet) was by far the worst. There was tough enemies around every corner there and hard boss fights w...

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...
