The Best Rap Albums I've Ever Reviewed List (Vol. 1, albums 27-18)

This is a top 27 list. It will be blogged as 3 separate posts.
Albums may have the same rating but I will decide which is better.

Lauryn Hill’s album will be counted even tho I’ve listed it as an R&B album.
Dont like the list(s). Let me know which albums shoulda made the list.

27) Life Is Good-Nas: This offering from the Queens Bridge Mc is greatness. His lyrics are sharp, and the production is better than on Untitled. The album has a high level of cohesiveness to it.

26) Stankonia-Outkast: This is the album that brought the successful group superstardom. Who could forget Ms. Jackson, one of rap's best songs period. The album is a funky yet smooth listen.

25) Man on the Moon-Kid Cudi- Kid Cudder's 1st album is his best to date. Moody, Dark, yet blissful all at the same time. 2009 rap album of the year for me.

24) Paper Trail- T.I- T.I.'s 2008 outing was perhaps his best. Great beats, varied songs, and great lyricism.

23) Blackstar- Mos Def & Talib Kweli-A really great album with hot beats and lyrics to match. These 2 conscious MCs have great chemistry.

22) My Name is My Name- Pusha T-Pusha's debut solo album was a 2013 stand out album. It's just so concise. Pusha is a great rapper.

21) Distant Relatives- Nas & Damian Marley- Nas & Damin Marley have great chemistry. Not all the songs are bangers, but every song has a relevant topic.

20) Black On Both Sides-Mos Def- The classic debut album is a testament to conscious rap's greatness.

19) Marshall Mathers LP 2- Eminem-One of the more complex albums i have ever heard. Em spits with  a new found edge and makes great pop rap songs.

18) To Pimp a Butterfly- Kendrick Lamar-A great sophmore album which is incredibly complex and creative. Kendrick has his own lane.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Video Game Review: Jedi Fallen Order

I meant to review this game way back in the day when I first beat it but this is coming after my 2nd play-through. This time I played the game on hard difficulty and man was it tough. Compared to Jedi Survivor I think the game has a better story. You join Jedi padawan Cal Kestis as he escapes a scrapyard planet Bracca , fleeing from the Empire. Cal comes face to face with an Inquistor called 2nd sister. You end up fighting her a total of 4 times in the game.  The main story is Cal must help a former Jedi named Cere and her pilot Greez to find a Jedi holocron that has a list of force sensitive children to rebuild the Jedi Order. I gotta say the planets you visit are all for the most part pretty flushed out . I found Zeffo to be the main planet and navigating it is truly awful. Well I’m glad they made navigation better in Jedi Survivor. Of all the planets Dathomir (Darth Mauls planet) was by far the worst. There was tough enemies around every corner there and hard boss fights w...

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...
