A lot can be said about Big Boi’s first true
solo album. Speakerboxx from 2003’s double Outkast album was really good, in
fact about a solid 9/10. Now to SLLF….well Big Boi had delayed this album for a
long time, and I’m glad he did, cause this is a superior rap album….i would go
as far to say this is better than any album the duo (Outkast) has put out
overall, but I have not heard all of them to date so I won’t. Anyways this
album features some of the catchiest beats and choruses rap has to offer this
year, or any year for that matter. The base hits hard, then some songs are
smooth, and others like Shine Blockas are right for the club. My personal
favorites are Be Still & Turns Me On. Then again this is an album with NO
FILLER, unless you count the skits or the SB remix at the end. Anyways the
lyrics weren’t quite flawless, but that’s about it. Stop reading this review
and go hear the best dirty south album of the 00s for yourself.
The verdict is a 9.8/10!!
