Rap Region Tournament: Midwest Bracket Round 1

Kanye West vs. Nelly:  The great back pack rapper vs. the great pop rapper
Flow: Now this is interesting. Nelly has a solid flow and is really consistent, while Kanye has had the occasional stuggle bar(s) lol. Nelly.
Delivery: Kanye wins this category. He’s got some solid delivery. Nelly isn’t half bad tho.
Albums: Okay this one isn’t close….Nelly has some good albums, but nothing classic level. Kanye runs away here.
Storytelling: Kanye gets the nod again as Nelly is a pop rapper.
Legacy: Kanye!!!!

Kanye wins 4-1

Royce da 5’9’’ vs. Kid Cudi: Polar opposites go at it.
F-This is harder than it looks. Royce is a great lyricist but he’s pretty equal to Cudi flow wise….TIE
D-This is also tough. Both rappers are pretty distinctive…well its another tie.
A-Royce wins this one…but not easily. Mostly due to the fact his last album Is great, Kid Cudi’s last one is very odd and average.
S-Royce can story tell, but its not really his proficiency. Cudi is kind of a better storyteller in his own way.  Cudi
L-Hmm Royce has been doin his thing for many years, but I just cant help but feel like he’s in Em’s shadow clearly. Kid Cudi has 3 really solid bodies of work legacy wise he edges out Royce. CUdi

Kid Cudi wins 5-3

Lupe vs. MGK: Fast spitters go at it.
F-Machine Gun Kelly has a decent flow, but Lupe is one of the best in any region flow wise. Lupe
D-While Lupe has decent delivery, I feel MGK really brings some dope energy on his bards. MGK.
A-This is insane, Lupe has arguably 3 classics under his belt compared to 2 decent MGK albums. LUPE.
S-MGK isn’t a bad or great storyteller, but Lupe has proven to get that done in many ways,..LUPE
L-Lupe wins again….

Lupe Fiasco wins 4-1

Eminem vs. Twista: These 2 can rap so fast!
F-This is cool because Twista and Em can both rap fast, but Twista does it more, Em does it less; Em wins due to the fact he raps in so many different ways easily.
D-Eminem wins. Soemetimes Twista raps too damn fast.
A-Eminem easily. MMLP 1 & 2 nuff said.
S-Eminem is one of the best storytellers  in the game. Twista’s style isn’t bad but he doesn’t excel at that like Nelly.
L-Twista has been relevant longer but Eminem sweeps him.

Eminem wins 5-0

Big Sean vs. Tech N9ne: Oppiste styles, good battle…
F-Tech is a proficient rapper, while Big Sean only shows flashes of flowing brilliance. Tech.
D-Big Sean was a monotone rapper for most of his career….Tech has exciting delivery….Tech again.
A-I really like Big Sean’s albums, even tho’s TN’s are good…Big Sean.
S-This is tough…..its  a tie.
L-While one rapper is incredibly commercial, the other isn’t hmm…Tie.

Tech N9ne wins 4-3

Common vs Danny Brown
F-Both are really good, it’s a tie.
D-Danny Brown has 2 voices on his album I heard which is impressive, but I feel Common has better delivery. Common.
A-Common wins this category but not as easily as you think.
S-Tie.
L-Common. He’s done more and more well known in the game.

Common wins 5-2

Doja Cat Albums Worst to Best

Doja Cat has been one of my favorite rapper/singers of the past few years. Let's see which albums are the best from her. 5) Amala (88)- Doja’s first album is honestly pretty damn good. You can tell she was still refining her sound tho on this. The last 3 songs “Juicy”, “Tia Tamera”, and “Mooo” are so good. “Candy” is another banger. The album is really well balanced being pretty much good in all areas but not really great in any tho. Favorite Track: Mooo. 4) Scarlet (90)- Believe it or not, this was an album I was on the fence about getting. I’m glad I got it. This is a rap heavy album but there’s still plenty of singing here and there. “Demons” and “F**k the GIrls” are Doja at her roughest. “Attention” was a great single. “Agora Hills” is a nice cute track. The monster single “Paint the Town Red” is the best track however. This album wa a big departure for her, but for the most part it paid off. Fav. Track Paint the Town Red. 3) Vie (92)- This was Doja returning to her pop roots,...

Album Review: Doja Cat-Vie

The much anticipated latest Doja Cat album! I was very curious to see where she'd go after the dark rap heavy Scarlet. The path she took was a 80s sounding pop album. It took a few listens for the album to click with me but yeah its awesome. Doja is in her zone here on this album. She sings a lot and acts as her own featured rap artist which is interesting. The first 3 songs are pretty strong. "Cards" is sultry. I love "Jealous Type" too (the lead single). "AAAH MEN!" might be my favorite song however. The production is great but maybe not the best she's ever had. I liked most every song. "Silly!Fun!" and "Come Back" are also excellent. As far as features go there's only SZA on " Take Me Dancing". So basically we have a very strong album here...but maybe not quite as good as Planet Her but it’s very close. Maybe I'll do a Doja Cat album ranking in the near future. She's been one of my favorite artists sin...

Tech Review: Iphone Air

I have only had this phone for over a week but I feel the need to review it. I recently got a 512gb light gold iPhone Air. This phone is so thin. You really have to hold it for yourself to believe it. I knew when I used it at a local Best Buy I had to have it. The phone is also a modern marvel having most of the technology in the camera bump. Of course you're wondering about that camera and battery life.  Honestly the battery is decent. It gets me through the day at work with minimal charging ( I mean who goes somewhere with no charger anymore?). The camera is good too. I'm not a huge camera guy anyways. The phone's 6.5 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display is great. I really notice a difference from my old phone (iPhone 12). The phone doesn't really get that hot either which is great. One thing I'm not a huge fan of is the one speaker on the phone....but honestly it's not that bad. I usually use headphones anyways. Apple Intelligence is still in beta but I think ...
