Album Review: M.I.A. AIM

I am a big fan of M.I.A. but I have really not liked her past 2 albums (Maya and Metangi). Albeit both of those albums had good production. AIM is better than those 2. I like the album but I’m not crazy about it. In fact everything here is above average but its not on her first 2 albums level. The first song is about as good as it gets. HMM. I am not bashing her or this album as I like both. She needs to reinvent her sound or something next time around. The biggest problem here is the album has a bunch of good songs but no true bangers like Paper Planes etc. This will do for now though.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

 Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. Kanye West 2 Part-Post (Revised Top Songs & Album Ranking)

1.       Gold Digger- To be honest, I didn’t like this song the first time I heard it. The beat is so infectious, and the lyrics are so clever, and that hook. Its his best song to date! He raps about a gold digging chick lol. 2.       All Falls Down- Kanye is extremely introspective on this song. The hook and beat make it great. This is ranked so high because it was the song that really propelled him to superstardom in 2004. 3.       Jesus Walks- A controversial song about Jesus being with those in need. Its just plain awesome. But I wouldn’t expect him to make a JW2 lol. Not in a million years. 4.       Can’t Tell Me Nothing- The best song on Graduation is dope. It’s a dark sounding banger. Nas Albums Worst to Best

20)      Nastradamus (75)- It really shouldn’t be a surprise to see this one ranked so low. The lyricism isn’t abysmal but everything is pretty average. How does a song like “Big Girl” make it to a Nas album?? It’s just a boring album plain and simple….I don’t really have a lot to say about it. 19)          Street’s Disciple (82) -I hate having this one so low. I honestly like a lot of the songs on this double disc. Unfortunately there’s quite a bit of filler here just like with Jay-z’s Blueprint 2. Disc one has hits like “Nazareth Savage”, “American Way”, “ Just a Moment” and “ You Know My Style”. Disc 2 has some heat on it too: “Suicide Bounce”, the title track, “Virgo”, “Bridging the Gap” and “Thiefs Theme”.   18) T he Lost Tapes 2 (86) -This one I admit I haven’t heard that much…but its pretty decent.
