Album Review: E-40 My Ghetto Report Card

This is a good album from E-40. The lyrics aren’t all that, but the hooks are good. The album has good depth and great production too. The album is a little long, but its banging. The first 3 songs I really like. There are some really good ones in the middle too like Yee, U and Dat, and I’m Da Man. The production is a strong point too. I wasn’t really feeling the songs at the back of the album, but overall this is a great 2006 album. He passed with a B- lol

Verdict: 8.3/10

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...

Album Review: Keri Hilson- We Need to Talk: Love

Who knew we'd finally get a new Keri Hilson album after almost 15 years. I gotta say its short and sweet! In the intro she kinda talks about how she's felt over the years. The first song "Naked (Love)" kinda has a weird tempo to it. "Searchin" feat Method Man is a true banger. The album features really good singing and songwriting from Keri....but that's what you'd expect. The production is pretty good too. I liked the song "Bae" too...kinda felt right out of the late 2000s. The album is just pretty well balanced as you can see from the scores. Overall I think this is a good album from Keri...no its not her best but I think it's about as good as her No Boys Allowed album. Lyrics 22 Beats 22 Depth 22 Tilt 22 Verdict 88
