Track By Track Album Review: Logic Everybody

Hallelujah-This is a terrific opener. Logic really goes in on this. He sings at first, and you know from T.I.T.S. Its an uplifting track. At the end we get a skit that introduces Adam and Neil Degrasse Tyson playing God, literally lol. The skit continues later in the album. 9/10
Everybody-I really like Logic’s flow this song. “Everybody people, everybody bleed, everybody need something..”  It’s basically just a regular Logic song.9/10
Confess-This is where race really becomes a topic of discussion. Logic is really on point here. The chorus and production is really different than most tracks on his last album. Sonically this sounds amazing. Killer Mike does a confessional rap spoken word thing at the end of the track…. 9.5/10
Killing Spree-I really like the chorus on this song. Logic raps about the state of what I’m assuming is the black man’s struggle. However it could be a rapper’s struggle. He also raps, “Everybody looking for the meaning of life through a cell phone screen.” 8.5/10
Take It Back-I like this song. Logic seems upset, even angry here. He tells you his story, which I had really only heard bits and pieces of, mostly on Under Pressure. The story is a tad bit too long. It’s small complaint tho. 8/10
America-This is one of the best songs. The beat and chorus are fire. The only complaint is the features don’t do much to help Logic. Black Thought included. The song is about the hypocrisy of America from a race relation stand point.  9/10
Ink Blot-The shortest song is pretty dope. It’s simple and effective. I wanted a little more from Juicy J however. 8.5/10
Mos Definitely-This might be where Logic beats the race equality point to death. I like this song…a lot. The beat is fire. Logic uplifts black people here…. “BLACK PEOPLE, are beautiful, amazing, intelligent”. 8.5/10
Waiting Room-Another skit but this time it’s way too long. I don’t really like the story of the skit. Even if it is somewhat interesting. So Adam has died in the first skit and now he’s being lectured by God….lol. Skit continues on the last song. 5/10
1-800-273-8255-This song is about suicide. I’m assuming that’s the number for the watch too. Alessia Cara and Khalid assist here. It’s a beautiful song about pain and despair. 9.5/10
Anziety-Now Mr. Logic raps from the p.o.v. of Anxiety itself. Pretty creative stuff. This song also has a long a** narrative at the end. I do like hearing this story however…it’s another great song. 8.5/10
Black SpiderMan-Easily the best song. It’s not really that close either. The chorus is great, as is Logic’s awesome verse. Listen to what the man is talking about here. The beat is pretty perfect too. The extra vocals are also great….10/10

AfricAryan-Well this is arguably the 2nd best song. This 12 minute beauty is long. I like the first part. Like I mentioned in my earlier review he previewed the first part’s beat in B.T. mixtape. Later we get the end of the skit from Adam and God…LOL. Its tolerable this time. Later we get the “space people” from T.I.T.S. album as they declare Logic has one more album. The end is J.Cole rapping. It feels out of place but yeah. Great track. 9.5/10

My Top Rappers of All Time List

30) Rick Ross (7.7) Essential Album: Teflon Don Starting off the list is Ricky Rossay. Ross has great delivery and a lot of good albums. He scores really high in the versatility category. Ross’s pen game has definitely gotten better from when he debuted in 2006 with Port of Miami. Ross’s biggest flaws were his storytelling and impact. Otherwise solid MC.     29) Young Jeezy (7.8) Essential Album: The Recession Another dirty south MC. Jeezy is one of my favorite rappers. He has a lot of good albums with no real duds. He does have the best ad libs in the game. His collaboration and versatility are high. He really brings the heat on his features. Storytelling and Impact weren’t that high but hey; hes tied with the next rapper.   28) Nicki Minaj (7.8) EA: The Pinkprint Arguably the most dominant female rapper of all time. Nicki really shines when features on others tracks. She usually steals the show like on Kanye West’s “Monster” song. She’s also really versatile; able to sing also and

My Favorite R&B Albums (as 2023 list)

Here are my favorite R&B albums. I'm not gonna do the countdown....I'm just going to list them. The last time I did a list like this was 2013. 1.       Rihanna-Good Girl Gone Bad- As her best album and the album that made her a star…it’s only right that as my favorite singer Rihanna takes the title. GGGB isn’t a perfect album but I love it. There’s a little something for everyone here. The smooth “Lemme Get That”, the party anthem “Don’t Stop the Music”, and the jam “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z. “Hate that I love You” featuring Ne-Yo is really good too. This album is just always a blast to listen to. 2.       Amerie-In Love & War- When I made this list about 10 years ago, this was the number one album. I love this album so much. I was considering her “Because I Love it” album for this list too, but I don’t really go back to that one that much. This album is just a flamethrower of R&B execution. That first half is great with songs like : “Heard Em All”, “Why R U”, and

My Favorite Rap Albums (As of 2024) List

1.       Kanye West-Graduation -Coming in at number one we have Kanye’s 3 rd  album. Sure it’s not his best or flashiest but damnit I love it so much. Listening to this album just gives me so much joy honestly. “Champion” is a great song, then there’s a fan favorite pick “I Wonder”. I do think the lyrically dense “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” is the best track. Who could forget the smooth “Flashing Lights”. It really amazing that Kanye was able to create another great soundscape that sounded very different than College Dropout and Late Registration. Honestly this album isn’t my favorite by leaps and bounds over the top 10; but its certainly still my favorite rap album. 2.       Ludacris-Word of Mouf- Coming in at number 2 is Ludacris. I think this album is his best while others may say Release Therapy or Chicken & Beer. Fun fact this was the first album I ever bought. Sure there’s some filler…but this album has a lot of Ludacris’s best tracks on it. There’s “Rollout”, “Move Bitch”, “Area
