“The Real Slimshady”

Rapper albums
The Slimshady LP
1999
Top 3-5 Songs: My Name Is, Just Don’t Give a F***, My Fault, Guilty Conscience
Album Score: Beats-3.8, Lyrics-4.2= 4
Rapper Stats: Flow-87 , Versatility-86, Relevancy-88
Rapper Rating: 87
Comments-The SLimshady LP featured a young Em, who was at the time just beginning to have popularity. The album is great, as Em paints great pictures with his rhymes. Eminem really showcases his skills throughout the album. He instantly became the best white rapper of all time. But to him, I don’t think that’s enough.

The Marshall Mathers LP
2000
Top Songs: The Real Slimshady, The Way I Am, Stan, Criminal, Kill You
Album Score: Beats-4.5, Lyrics-5= 4.8
Rapper Stats: F-95, V-92, R-98
RR: 95
Comments-Slim’s best album is just incredible. He storytells with the best of rappers. When he says better than 90% of you rappers out there…..maybe it was a stretch but at the time maybe it was true. This album got a lot of people into rap that weren’t into it before. Lyrically Em would improve as hard as that is to believe.

2001-Non Solo Album Year
Rapper Rating: -2= 93
C- Em did drop the first D-12 album but that was about it….

The Eminem Show
2002
Top Songs: Without Me, Till I Collapse, White America, Cleaning Out My Closet
Album Score: Beats-4.7,Lyrics-4.8= 4.75
RS: F-97,V-90, R-96
RR: 94.3
C-The Eminem Show is just what it’s title implies. Its got better beats than his previous 2 albums….and he raps with a flow that only Jay-z or Nas could match at the time. The album has its share of controversy including shots at Government officials and Mariah Carey.

2003-NAY
R R: +.5=94.8
C-Eminem had a presence in 2003 esepecially when helping rising rapper 50 Cent.

Encore
2004
Top Songs: Encore(Curtains Down), A** Like That, Just Lose It, Yellow Brick Road
AS: Beats-3.9 ,Lyrics-3.8= 3.85
RS: F-82 , V-84 , R-87
RR: 84.3
C-Em’s weakest album isn’t bad but it feels like he’s not trying as hard as he could. Some songs are really good, but none are excellent. Some other songs are just average as well. It’s supposedly a sequel to Eminem Show, but its not a really good one.

2005-2008 Non Album Year
RR: -3= 81.3
C-Eminem was up and down in these years….but mostly down despite good guest spots on 50 Cent, the Game, and other albums.

Relapse (Deluxe Edition)
2009
Top Songs: We Made You, Beautiful, Déjà vu, Underground, My Mom
AS: Beats-4.1 , Lyrics-4.3= 4.2
RS: F-88, V-85,R- 84
RR: 85.7
C- Relapse was Em’s comeback album…and for the most part it’s a success. The album is catchy and also downright disturbing…really disturbing. His flow is great, and the beats aren’t bad either. I think Em was personally not proud of Relapse, but I see it as a good album and an improvement over the scatter shot Encore album.

Relapse Refill
2009
TS: Hell Breaks Loose,Elevator
AS: Beats-4.0, Lyrics-4.1=4.05
RS: F-86, V-85, R-82
RR: 84.3
C-This came out in late 09. It was a good bonus cd…but not the Relapse 2 I was waiting for.

Recovery
2010
TS: Not Afraid, Cold Wind Blows, No Love, Love the Way You Lie
AS: Beats-3.7,Lyrics-4.7= 4.2
RS:F-97, V-90, R-93
RR: 93
C-Recovery is a very remarkable album. Its as close to a regular rap album that you will ever see from Em. Its basically just him talking about how good of a rapper he is and his personal life. In fact this one is really really personal. The beats are different than what shady usually raps on, but the result is a re-invented sounding Marshall Mathers.

Hell: The Sequel(Bad Meets Evil w/Royce Da 5’9)
2011
Top Songs: Fast Lane, Loud Noises, Lighters
AS: Beats-3.3, Lyrics-4.4= 3.85
RS: F-92, V-81, R-86
RR: 86.3
C-Em joins forces with Royce da 5’9. The result is a very good lyrical performance with few guests. Em doesn’t exactly outshine Royce here, but that’s not really a surprise. I really can’t wait for the next Eminem solo album.

2012-NAY
-3=83.3
Em didn’t do a whole lot in 2012, but he remained a steady presence launching the Slaughterhouses’ 2nd album

Marshall Mathers LP2
2013
Top Songs: Rap God, Berzerk, A**hole, Rhyme or Reason, Evil Twin
AS: Beats-4.2  , Lyrics-5 =4.6
RS: Flow-98 , Versatility-88 , Relevancy-92
RR: 92.7
Comments-MMLP2 is kind of like MMLP1 and Recovery put together. It’s lyrics really don’t leave anything to be desired. The production is great too. I don’t feel Em was versatile or as relevant as he was in 2010 tho.

Shady XV
2014
Top Songs: Shadyxv, Detroit Vs. Everybody, Vegas, Guts Over Fear
AS: Beats-3.5 , Lyrics-4.1= 3.8
RR: (-2) 90.7
This is a pretty good album for the die hard Eminem fans. It’s a compilation album that I’m including over 8 Mile (that only had 4 Eminem songs). The Eminem songs are pretty good, and the guest featured songs are also decent.

2015-2016-NAYs
(-4): 86.7
Where the heck was Eminem during these years??

Revival
2017
Top Songs: Like Home, River, Walk On Water, Arose
Album Score: Beats-3.7 , Lyrics-4.2 =3.95
Rapper Score: Flow-88 , Versatility-83 , Relevancy-82
Rapper Rating: 84.3
Arguably Em’s most polarizing album. It’s not really as good as the other parts in this trilogy from a technical standpoint (Relapse & Recovery). However lyrically its pretty damn good. I just felt in 2017 Eminem wasn’t all that relevant as he’s been.

Overall Album Score: 4.2 (46.05/11)
Non Album Year(s) Overall Score(div by 8): 86.05
Rapper’s Overall Rating: (NAYOS +Combined Rapper Rating)/Number of Rapper Ratings: (NAYOS +977.6)/11= 96.7

Final Rapper Comments: He’s an all time great!!! The math didnt turn out exactly on the Rapper's Overall Rating...but hey just enjoy the breakdown!

My Top Rappers of All Time List

30) Rick Ross (7.7) Essential Album: Teflon Don Starting off the list is Ricky Rossay. Ross has great delivery and a lot of good albums. He scores really high in the versatility category. Ross’s pen game has definitely gotten better from when he debuted in 2006 with Port of Miami. Ross’s biggest flaws were his storytelling and impact. Otherwise solid MC.     29) Young Jeezy (7.8) Essential Album: The Recession Another dirty south MC. Jeezy is one of my favorite rappers. He has a lot of good albums with no real duds. He does have the best ad libs in the game. His collaboration and versatility are high. He really brings the heat on his features. Storytelling and Impact weren’t that high but hey; hes tied with the next rapper.   28) Nicki Minaj (7.8) EA: The Pinkprint Arguably the most dominant female rapper of all time. Nicki really shines when features on others tracks. She usually steals the show like on Kanye West’s “Monster” song. She’s also really versatile; able to sing also and

My Favorite R&B Albums (as 2023 list)

Here are my favorite R&B albums. I'm not gonna do the countdown....I'm just going to list them. The last time I did a list like this was 2013. 1.       Rihanna-Good Girl Gone Bad- As her best album and the album that made her a star…it’s only right that as my favorite singer Rihanna takes the title. GGGB isn’t a perfect album but I love it. There’s a little something for everyone here. The smooth “Lemme Get That”, the party anthem “Don’t Stop the Music”, and the jam “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z. “Hate that I love You” featuring Ne-Yo is really good too. This album is just always a blast to listen to. 2.       Amerie-In Love & War- When I made this list about 10 years ago, this was the number one album. I love this album so much. I was considering her “Because I Love it” album for this list too, but I don’t really go back to that one that much. This album is just a flamethrower of R&B execution. That first half is great with songs like : “Heard Em All”, “Why R U”, and

My Favorite Rap Albums (As of 2024) List

1.       Kanye West-Graduation -Coming in at number one we have Kanye’s 3 rd  album. Sure it’s not his best or flashiest but damnit I love it so much. Listening to this album just gives me so much joy honestly. “Champion” is a great song, then there’s a fan favorite pick “I Wonder”. I do think the lyrically dense “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” is the best track. Who could forget the smooth “Flashing Lights”. It really amazing that Kanye was able to create another great soundscape that sounded very different than College Dropout and Late Registration. Honestly this album isn’t my favorite by leaps and bounds over the top 10; but its certainly still my favorite rap album. 2.       Ludacris-Word of Mouf- Coming in at number 2 is Ludacris. I think this album is his best while others may say Release Therapy or Chicken & Beer. Fun fact this was the first album I ever bought. Sure there’s some filler…but this album has a lot of Ludacris’s best tracks on it. There’s “Rollout”, “Move Bitch”, “Area
