Top Movies of 2017

1.       Transformers The Last Night-I really enjoyed Transformers 5. It was a firm step in the right direction despite some serious continuity errors with the first 3 movies. Despite that the cast is great and the action….you know I like that action! I cannot wait for #6.

2.       Star Wars The Last Jedi-This is my 2nd pick…but I’ve only seen it once, so in the future I may look back and say this was my favorite film. TLJ is amazing by all accounts. The middle part is kinda uneven but I like the fact they made it different than Empire Strikes Back. I think this movie had a couple climaxes.

3.       Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2-This barely beat out Thor, but yeah its really an improvement over the original to me. It is really funny and the plot is really good. I found the movie slightly predictable….but it’s a win for Marvel.

4.       Thor Ragnarok-Thor 3 is a terrific film. Its well-paced and very interesting. Its also a funny movie unlike its predecessors….or I should say it goes out of its way to be funny. I didn’t really like the way it ended however.

5.       King Kong Skull Island-I really enjoyed this movie. It was a lot different than King Kong (2005) …which I also liked. Kong is a lot bigger as are his adversaries. Samuel Jackson’s character’s demise at the hands of Kong was fitting. That final fight tho….wow.

Doja Cat Albums Worst to Best

Doja Cat has been one of my favorite rapper/singers of the past few years. Let's see which albums are the best from her. 5) Amala (88)- Doja’s first album is honestly pretty damn good. You can tell she was still refining her sound tho on this. The last 3 songs “Juicy”, “Tia Tamera”, and “Mooo” are so good. “Candy” is another banger. The album is really well balanced being pretty much good in all areas but not really great in any tho. Favorite Track: Mooo. 4) Scarlet (90)- Believe it or not, this was an album I was on the fence about getting. I’m glad I got it. This is a rap heavy album but there’s still plenty of singing here and there. “Demons” and “F**k the GIrls” are Doja at her roughest. “Attention” was a great single. “Agora Hills” is a nice cute track. The monster single “Paint the Town Red” is the best track however. This album wa a big departure for her, but for the most part it paid off. Fav. Track Paint the Town Red. 3) Vie (92)- This was Doja returning to her pop roots,...

Video Game Review: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

I happened to beat this game recently for the first time in I was just in awe at how epic this game is. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake (which I played on the ps4). This game was a ps5 exclusive however. I know I needed a ps5 if I was gonna play it. And last year I made that happen. This is a continuation of the story of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barrett as they fight against the Shinra Corporation and the evil Sephiroth. I'll try not spoil much. When the game starts you play as Zack who is a solider like Cloud. You saw Zack at the end of Remake. Basically story wise there is another dimension in this game and you play as Zach in it here and there. There is a relationship meter that the main character Cloud has with every party member….answering certain questions one way or another will change the relationship. I found this to be a cool touch that the first game barely had any resemblance of. The game's graphics are outstanding and characters look ...

Album Review: Doja Cat-Vie

The much anticipated latest Doja Cat album! I was very curious to see where she'd go after the dark rap heavy Scarlet. The path she took was a 80s sounding pop album. It took a few listens for the album to click with me but yeah its awesome. Doja is in her zone here on this album. She sings a lot and acts as her own featured rap artist which is interesting. The first 3 songs are pretty strong. "Cards" is sultry. I love "Jealous Type" too (the lead single). "AAAH MEN!" might be my favorite song however. The production is great but maybe not the best she's ever had. I liked most every song. "Silly!Fun!" and "Come Back" are also excellent. As far as features go there's only SZA on " Take Me Dancing". So basically we have a very strong album here...but maybe not quite as good as Planet Her but it’s very close. Maybe I'll do a Doja Cat album ranking in the near future. She's been one of my favorite artists sin...
