Video Game Review: Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD

So I beat this game earlier this year and man I loved it. I had barely played the original for Wii so it was very much like a fresh playthrough. The story was very much a strongpoint for this game. I won't go through it for this review however. Instead I'll focus on gameplay and dungeons etc.

For my playthrough I played with button controls which even that took some getting used to. I would use motion controls to aim certain projectiles like the slingshot and bow. However with the sword I would flick the right stick in a certain direction. There's a little bit of lag with that but you get used to it. Of course when I was fighting the first boss it was a nightmare as most of my attacks he would block as I wasnt very good yet. Flying your bird is pretty fun too. Besides one airborne boss I didnt really have any issues with that.

This is a classic Zelda game in every sense of the word which is very diffrent from Breath of the Wild. And for the most part I really enjoyed this return to form. The dungeons are very good. The enemies are varied too. Some are easier to take down than others. The Bokoblins are the standard foot soldier you fight and go down easy. However enemies like Lizalofos and Stalfos take a lot more effort to beat.

Your companion Fi, who is basically the soul of your sword is mostly helpful. However alot of times she just tells you things and its like yeah I knew that already! She can give tips and provide you with your combat effectiveness with enemies.

The game basically only has about 4 diffrent areas and you backtrack alot. It kind of makes the game feel a little too linear but its not that bad. Collecting diffrent items like the clawshot for example open up diffrent areas for you to access. I didnt really do hardly any sidequests in my run but I'll likely do more next time.

Ok I've been trying to avoid spoilers here, but I gotta admit the bosses are mostly good. There's one you fight called the Imprisoned, which just involves you stopping it from reaching a temple, which is very annoying to fight. You fight it 3 times during the game and it gets harder every time. There are silent realms in this game too which are like stealth collectathons which can be very frustrating. I wouldnt mind them if there were only like 2...but there's like 4 of them.

The final part of the game is really a straight forward gauntlet where you fight tons of enemies then 2 bosses at the end of it. The actual final boss is tough as hell too. It really puts your abilities to the test. This was a difficulty spike I almost just was not ready for. Ultimately though this is a very good game. It's graphics are upgraded over the original and there's plenty quality of life improvements too here that I think make it worth your time; even if you beat the original.

Verdict: 9.0

Doja Cat Albums Worst to Best

Doja Cat has been one of my favorite rapper/singers of the past few years. Let's see which albums are the best from her. 5) Amala (88)- Doja’s first album is honestly pretty damn good. You can tell she was still refining her sound tho on this. The last 3 songs “Juicy”, “Tia Tamera”, and “Mooo” are so good. “Candy” is another banger. The album is really well balanced being pretty much good in all areas but not really great in any tho. Favorite Track: Mooo. 4) Scarlet (90)- Believe it or not, this was an album I was on the fence about getting. I’m glad I got it. This is a rap heavy album but there’s still plenty of singing here and there. “Demons” and “F**k the GIrls” are Doja at her roughest. “Attention” was a great single. “Agora Hills” is a nice cute track. The monster single “Paint the Town Red” is the best track however. This album wa a big departure for her, but for the most part it paid off. Fav. Track Paint the Town Red. 3) Vie (92)- This was Doja returning to her pop roots,...

Video Game Review: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

I happened to beat this game recently for the first time in I was just in awe at how epic this game is. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake (which I played on the ps4). This game was a ps5 exclusive however. I know I needed a ps5 if I was gonna play it. And last year I made that happen. This is a continuation of the story of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barrett as they fight against the Shinra Corporation and the evil Sephiroth. I'll try not spoil much. When the game starts you play as Zack who is a solider like Cloud. You saw Zack at the end of Remake. Basically story wise there is another dimension in this game and you play as Zach in it here and there. There is a relationship meter that the main character Cloud has with every party member….answering certain questions one way or another will change the relationship. I found this to be a cool touch that the first game barely had any resemblance of. The game's graphics are outstanding and characters look ...

Album Review: Doja Cat-Vie

The much anticipated latest Doja Cat album! I was very curious to see where she'd go after the dark rap heavy Scarlet. The path she took was a 80s sounding pop album. It took a few listens for the album to click with me but yeah its awesome. Doja is in her zone here on this album. She sings a lot and acts as her own featured rap artist which is interesting. The first 3 songs are pretty strong. "Cards" is sultry. I love "Jealous Type" too (the lead single). "AAAH MEN!" might be my favorite song however. The production is great but maybe not the best she's ever had. I liked most every song. "Silly!Fun!" and "Come Back" are also excellent. As far as features go there's only SZA on " Take Me Dancing". So basically we have a very strong album here...but maybe not quite as good as Planet Her but it’s very close. Maybe I'll do a Doja Cat album ranking in the near future. She's been one of my favorite artists sin...
