Game's The Red Album

The Red Album
Dr. Dre Intro- Dr. Dre jump starts the album by talking about how Game’s parents got together and how he was born.

The City- a track featuring fellow west coast rapper Kendrick Lamar. The song bleeds with intensity. The chorus is hot, and lyrically Game doesn’t disappoint. Kendrick goes hard near the end of the song. The album is off to a great start.
9.5/10

Drug Test- One of the only songs that you would probably hear on the radio. It’s a dope short song. 8.5/10

Martians vs. Goblins- A dope concept type of track. Game is joined by Lil Wayne and Tyler the Creator.. Game’s verses are creepy, and Tyler spits a hot verse. The chorus is alright, but not all that creative.
9/10

Red Nation- A hot commercial sounding song. Wayne is on the chorus again. This song has a much faster tempo than My Life from L.A.X. 9/10

Dr. Dre 1- A nice skit from Dre again. He talks about when the Game was young and he watched Boyz in the Hood.

Good Girls Gone Bad- This song has a hot beat. Game is joined by Drizzy Drake. Its about respecting women. I like the chorus too. This is another one of the few songs with radio appeal. 8.5/10

Ricky- This song samples and talks about that infamous part from Boyz in the Hood. The Game gets really personal here. He talks about when he was shot, which isn’t a new topic, but he delivers in a fresh way.
8.5/10

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly- Game story tells again. This time he’s being held by 2 cops, and recounting a story. He won’t snitch apparently….8/10

Heavy Artillery- Game is joined by Rick Ross and Beanie Seigel here. The song is decent. Game’s verse outshines his guests. The song has a tense beat. 8/10

Paramedics- Young Jeezy joins the Game for a hot song. Jeezy spits a hot verse, and I love the chorus too. The beat is hot as well. Game seems to try to imitate Jeezy’s sound on this one. He continues to show his versatility as an MC.
9.5/10

Speakers On Blast- Big Boi and E-40 join the Game this time around. This is a dope song. Game tries to imitate Big Boi’s flow here, and he does a pretty good job.
9/10

Hello- A nice song for the ladies. Lloyd drops in for a decent hook. The beat is ok, ultimately I think LAX had better love songs then this. 7.5/10

All the Way Gone- Mario and Wale join Game for this banger. It’s better than the previous track, due in large point to a better chorus from Mario, and better verses.
8/10

Pot of Gold- A very personal song, featuring Chris Brown. The song is about the spotlight and Game’s friends that have passed. CB kills the hook, I notice he does a good job on his features every time he’s featured this year. This another song that got radio play.
9/10

Dr. Dre 2- Dre talks about Game not wanting to be a cript, but a blood. “He ran till everything turned Red”.

All I Know- A dope track. Game keeps it real on his verses. Lu Breeze delivers a nice chorus. The beat is good but nothing spectacular.
8.5/10

Born in the Trap- Game spits on a DJ premier beat. The beat is nice, and Game spits fire. “ Game mentions a lot of rappers and says just like (Rapper) they was born in the trap.
8.5/10

Mama Knows- A Neptunes produced, Nelly Furtardo assisted glossy track. This is a really good introspective song. The chorus by Nelly F. is really good.
9/10

California Dream- This song is about the birth of Game’s daughter. It directly comparable to Like Father Like Son from his first album. You really have to admire Game’s ability to rap about a variety topics. My Only complaint is the song is rather long.
9/10

Dr. Dre Outro- Dre closes out the album nicely…..

I give this album 9.25/10

My Top Rappers of All Time List

30) Rick Ross (7.7) Essential Album: Teflon Don Starting off the list is Ricky Rossay. Ross has great delivery and a lot of good albums. He scores really high in the versatility category. Ross’s pen game has definitely gotten better from when he debuted in 2006 with Port of Miami. Ross’s biggest flaws were his storytelling and impact. Otherwise solid MC.     29) Young Jeezy (7.8) Essential Album: The Recession Another dirty south MC. Jeezy is one of my favorite rappers. He has a lot of good albums with no real duds. He does have the best ad libs in the game. His collaboration and versatility are high. He really brings the heat on his features. Storytelling and Impact weren’t that high but hey; hes tied with the next rapper.   28) Nicki Minaj (7.8) EA: The Pinkprint Arguably the most dominant female rapper of all time. Nicki really shines when features on others tracks. She usually steals the show like on Kanye West’s “Monster” song. She’s also really versatile; able to sing also and

My Favorite R&B Albums (as 2023 list)

Here are my favorite R&B albums. I'm not gonna do the countdown....I'm just going to list them. The last time I did a list like this was 2013. 1.       Rihanna-Good Girl Gone Bad- As her best album and the album that made her a star…it’s only right that as my favorite singer Rihanna takes the title. GGGB isn’t a perfect album but I love it. There’s a little something for everyone here. The smooth “Lemme Get That”, the party anthem “Don’t Stop the Music”, and the jam “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z. “Hate that I love You” featuring Ne-Yo is really good too. This album is just always a blast to listen to. 2.       Amerie-In Love & War- When I made this list about 10 years ago, this was the number one album. I love this album so much. I was considering her “Because I Love it” album for this list too, but I don’t really go back to that one that much. This album is just a flamethrower of R&B execution. That first half is great with songs like : “Heard Em All”, “Why R U”, and

My Favorite Rap Albums (As of 2024) List

1.       Kanye West-Graduation -Coming in at number one we have Kanye’s 3 rd  album. Sure it’s not his best or flashiest but damnit I love it so much. Listening to this album just gives me so much joy honestly. “Champion” is a great song, then there’s a fan favorite pick “I Wonder”. I do think the lyrically dense “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” is the best track. Who could forget the smooth “Flashing Lights”. It really amazing that Kanye was able to create another great soundscape that sounded very different than College Dropout and Late Registration. Honestly this album isn’t my favorite by leaps and bounds over the top 10; but its certainly still my favorite rap album. 2.       Ludacris-Word of Mouf- Coming in at number 2 is Ludacris. I think this album is his best while others may say Release Therapy or Chicken & Beer. Fun fact this was the first album I ever bought. Sure there’s some filler…but this album has a lot of Ludacris’s best tracks on it. There’s “Rollout”, “Move Bitch”, “Area
