Album Review: T.I.-Kill the King

T.I. has released his final album. I like the album but I don't love it. The album is very nostalgic for the most part. Some of these songs were really good like the great single "Let Em Know". Some songs like "Pistols on the Dance Floor" just don't hit unfortunately. Lyrically T.I. is pretty on point....and I felt the production overall was solid too. The production on the album is good too. "Dope Boys Academy" is a nice song but it sounds kinda dated somehow.....is it the T-Pain hook? The song with Summer Walker, "And Won't" is a terrific. "We On" is a good b side too. Young Dro shows up on "Represent a Time" and does well. I liked "Big Dog" a lot more than the album's closer "Continental". Overall this is a good album but I can't help but want more from the King of the South. I do feel it's better than his last album but it falls woefully short of the excellent Dime Trap.  Lyrics...

Video Game Review: Super Mario Galaxy 2

I recently beat this Super Mario game. I have beaten the first Super Mario Galaxy game too. I gotta admit this might have been a better game. The two games are similar but the way you go stage to stage is very much more linear here. You basically travel with a chubby Luma named Lubba as you travel on a Mario head shaped spaceship.  The plot is kinda of a retelling of the first game. You are trying to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. There are a lot of returning elements from Galaxy one like Launch stars which can take you to a completely new planetoid in many cases. There are a lot of returning enemies from Galaxy one as well like Goombas, those little things that spit rocks at you, boo ghosts, bullet bills, Chomps, and hammer bros. Some of the boss fights were really creative. There was a big creature that was only vulnerable from underneath so it constantly forced you to go to one of the openings of the arena and ground pound it from below. The Bowser fights were consider...

Album Review: Drake-Habiti

So Drake decided to separate his R&B songs and put them on this album. Unfortunately the results are kinda mixed. This album is just lacking in energy for me. Sure it's only 37 minutes but my god does it feel longer than that. The first track, "Rusty Intro" is awful. I'm not sure what Drake was thinking. "WNBA" is decent tho with its smooth execution. "High Fives" is a pretty damn good song too. The biggest problem with this album is Drake just comes off as a little uninspired lyrically. I see what he was going for with "Hurrr Nor Thurrr" but Sexyy Red was probably the wrong artist for this kind of song. "Classic" is a banger tho. Drake still has the chops I guess lol. Overall tho it's not a terrible album just incredibly mid.  Lyrics 17 Beats 20 Depth 19 Tilt 19 Verdict 75

Album Review: Paul Wall- People's Champ

Paul Wall’s debut is really good. Lyrically he’s sharp. The beats are decent. I liked most of the songs toward the first half. The 2 nd half wasn’t that bad but there was a noticeable drop off. “Girl” is a good love song in that 2 nd half. “I’m a Playa” is fire and it features Three 6 Mafia. Mike Jones returns the favor by being featured on “They Don’t Know”. Trey Songz shows up on the anthemic “Ridin Dirty”. I really like “State to State” which features Freeway. My favorite song is “Internet Goin Nutz” where Paul gets his mack on. This is an album that maybe a lot of people missed but its really solid! Lyrics 23 Beats 20 Depth 22 Tilt 20 Verdict 85

Super Mario Galaxy movie

I gotta admit i was worried cause some movie reviews said this movie wasn’t all that. I really liked it ! The voice cast from the first movie is back: Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Micahel Key as Toad. They are joined by newcomers Donald Glover as Yoshi (cause why not lol), Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Glen Powell as Fox McCloud, and Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina. The movie's plot is rather straight forward. Mario and company must rescue Rosalina from the clutches of Bowser Jr. I really thought Bowser Jr. was a cool villain. He commands alot of attention in his action scenes. Mario and Lugi are together throughout the movie this time. There's a scene in the movie where Peach and Toad just kick major butt. I really love that they put Fox McCloud in the movie too. His inclusion makes sense and his character was great. Yoshi was a likeable character too.  Bowser is kind of a good guy for at least...
