Album Review: Blackshady's Age of Black

Hey wassup, it's time for another album review. This time however, the album is mine. Originally supposed to be a video album for YouTube(yes I did make some of these tracks). I never finished it but If I had well....let's see....pay attention cause I will likely choose to do my reviews more in depth like this in the future for your favorite artists...

Blackshady is a ** year old rapper hailing from Virginia, and this is his first solo work. Age of Black is a mixtape style album where he takes beats from already established rap songs and goes in on them. The first track is called (The Wait Is) Over where Blackshady spits on Drake's Over beat.
He spits,

One thing bout Rap when I hear I feel no pain
Like Im straight up insane
Like these gurls wanna give me brain
They say they love me,
I kno betta than that its just game
They wanna fuck me,
And I’m ready for dat
I aint gotta wife and it’s a shame

After that the album pays ode to Jay-z's Take Over song.....Things get interesting.

I told u I come to take the game
Im not Akon but I got the fame
Ya gurl gimme the brain
I thought she was ya dame
I rap all sillieeeee
Like lil wayne on a millie
U an me beeefin really is silly
Im a rapper u just play wit ya willie

The song is as cruel as it is funny.....then theres' Troublesome 2006 an ode to Pac, but this song is very very dark and personal. I can't post the lyrics, you'll just have to hear it for yourself. Somethin about conspiracies, lying women, and biblical prophecies all in one song.

There were other songs here, but most, eh most seemed like filler. There's love tracks, beef tracks, and a track dedicated to how expensive apple stuff is to buy. Then there's Big Cuzn, where Black raps over Kanye's Big Brother. It's the album's last song, and arguably the best.

We used to hang out at as kids
And be at each other’s cribs
He watched BET, with me
I was like who’s Jay-z
He let me bump Missy
The memory stays wit me
We not so close but then
I still wanna be like my Big Cuzin
Aint seen em in like 7 years
Almost brings me to tears

Well the album was good. The delivery of the rapper could improve. He has a hard time staying on the stellar beats. However this is a good album/mixtape...whatever.
The verdict: 8.0/10 suck it

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Video Game Review: Jedi Fallen Order

I meant to review this game way back in the day when I first beat it but this is coming after my 2nd play-through. This time I played the game on hard difficulty and man was it tough. Compared to Jedi Survivor I think the game has a better story. You join Jedi padawan Cal Kestis as he escapes a scrapyard planet Bracca , fleeing from the Empire. Cal comes face to face with an Inquistor called 2nd sister. You end up fighting her a total of 4 times in the game.  The main story is Cal must help a former Jedi named Cere and her pilot Greez to find a Jedi holocron that has a list of force sensitive children to rebuild the Jedi Order. I gotta say the planets you visit are all for the most part pretty flushed out . I found Zeffo to be the main planet and navigating it is truly awful. Well I’m glad they made navigation better in Jedi Survivor. Of all the planets Dathomir (Darth Mauls planet) was by far the worst. There was tough enemies around every corner there and hard boss fights w...

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...
