In Depth Review: Marhall Mathers LP2

OP: 9.5/10                 MMLP2 is a monster cd that is a sequel to Em’s best album MMLP 1.I knew, in 2013 that the album would be good. The album starts with “Bad Guy” which is actually Stan 2….Stan’s younger brother apparently kills Em. Yes very interesting. DO NOT Skip the track or you wont understand. The song has a dark and dreary beat. It is also the album’s longest track. The skit “Parking Lot” takes place right after the song “Criminal” on MMLP1. Its kinda pointless but I guess Em felt the need to do it.                 The next track is really cool, “Rhyme Or Reason” has a dope beat. It’s a slow paced song with a good feature. “SO Much Better” is a good song but really its one of   my least favorites. I assume he’s talking about Kim, but idk. The verses are good but the chorus is tasteless. The end is funny b/c its ...

Album Review: Chris Brown F.A.M.E.

After a poor effort with Graffiti, CB returns with an impressive album. This album is perhaps his best, rivaling Exclusive. The first half is the better half of the album. There’s a good guest list too including Lil Wayne, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Wiz Khalifa, and Justin Bieber. I really like the song Look At Me Now. Sounds like a rap record but hey its dope. The song with Bieber is also another one of  my favorites. Also, Yeah 3x is so much fun makes you want to dance lol. The album is one of Brown’s best. He is one of my favorite R&B singers mane. Verdict: A solid 9/10

Album Review: Jeezy Church in these Streets

Jeezy has released his 6 th album, and man is it good. There aren’t many guest spots and honestly there didn’t need to be many. Lyrically he sounds fresh, maybe more enthusiastic than he did on Seen It All, his last album. The album has great songs, but some sound a little too similar. Sweet Life with Janelle Monae is great, as is the song God. Overall it’s a great album, and a good addition to his discography. Verdict: 9/10 HAHAHAH

Album Review: Logic The Incredible True Story

The new album from Logic is a Sci-fi adventure with improved production over the debut album. However I felt Logic’s lyrics were great, but not stellar like last time. In fact this album isn’t quite as good as the debut overall, but its not far behind. There are mostly short songs here, unlike the debut, but there’s a couple of long ones; the title track, and City of Stars. The latter is a great and personal track. Logic is personal on this album, which seems to be one his trademarks as a MC. Depth wise I liked every track. It’s a fun listen which doesn’t leave much to be desired. The verdict: 9.3/10

In Depth Review: Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP

Eminem-Marshall Mathers LP In Depth Review Opening Opinion, 9.75/10 Ah the legendary MMLP 1, also known as Eminem’s magnum opus. It is really really awesome, but its not really a flawless album. I actually didn’t hear this cd until 2002. My parents actually wouldn’t let me hear the whole thing. My Dad gave me a SSLP and MMLP approved songs cd which was the tracks deemed “not too explicit”. I cant blame my dad for doing that cause the early Eminem albums weren’t for kids. The Intro PSA 2000 is stupid but hey it gets the ball rolling. “Kill You” is relentless and unforgiving. Em attacks the haters and women in general and specifically his mother. “Stan” is a classic song. The disgruntle fan writes to Em about how much of a fan he is.  The chorus is perfect here. Dido did her thang. The last verse always gives me chills when Em realizes that Stan is already dead. Next is a skit from Paul Rosenburg which is funny. “Who Knew” is another song that just bashes people fans in...

Album Review: Eminem Encore

This is Eminem’s weakest full length album thus far, and that’s not really up for debate. However Encore is fairly entertaining as a whole. There’s lots of fun tracks like Lose It, Ass Like That. A lot of songs have a more serious subject matter or just make Em sound like he’s on drugs( I guess he was). Mosh I great, as is the Title track at the end. Em speaks on the beef he’s endured on Like Toy Soldiers. My 1 st Single should have been left off the album. The album doesn’t really have a lot of glaring weaknesses but one for sure is the lyricism. It’s just lazy sometimes, but hey the production is a tad better. If you’re an Eminem fan, this one is worth checking out. Verdict: While not a great album, it's still decent.  8/10

The New Nintendo 3ds XL review

New 3ds XL Review                 The New Nintendo  3ds(dual screen) Is a wonderful handheld system. It builds on what made the 3ds so great. There’s a great selection of games, and its backwards compatible with the other games from the DS library. The new 3ds has some really cool features. Truth be told I wasn’t going to get one, but the circle pad on my old one broke .                 So let’s cover what’s new. There is a stiff analog button on the right side. Its very good but few games actually use it so far(in 2015). The system also has 2 extra trigger buttons which can be useful. The 3d works a lot better as far as its ability to track your head.  There are some other changes too, but I don’t think I need to mention them.              ...

2008 Dope Boyz (Game, Jeezy, T.I.)

Ah yeah the 2008 dope boyz. Just a little name i came up with back in 08 for the Game, T.I., and Jeezy. In 2008 the 3 released popular albums: L.A.X, Paper Trail, and The Recession respectively. So let's look at those albums. First 08 dope boy: The Game The Game also known as Game, is a supremely talented westcoast mc. He's got a talent for name dropping and also mimicking his guest rappers or just other rappers in general. Game did the west coast proud with the release of L.A.X. , a very interesting album, without a lot of drama as was with 2006's Doctor's Advocate. Despite that i felt LAX was a tad bit better with lots of features which, is a characteristic of Game's albums now. In Retrospect: LAX was a great album, but if it were Game's last album, it wouldnt have been the best way to leave the rap game especially considering how good Red Album and Documetnary 2 & 2.5 are. 2nd 08 Dope Boy: Jeezy Jeezy also known as Young Jeezy was at the ...

Album Review: Drake & Future What a Time To Be Alive

What a time to be a rap fan! Drake is collaborating with…not weezy, but Trap n B juggernaut Future.  The result is mostly good but the songs sound WAY WAY too similar. The two have chemistry, but it almost feels like on most songs, Drake doesn’t want to outshine Future.  My favorite tracks are Big Rings and Jumpman. Lyrically its not all that, but the production is solid. If you’re like me, you had a hard time deciding to give this one a chance. Give it a chance.  It’s good.   Verdict: 8.4/10

Video Game Review: Splatoon

Splatoon is Nintendo's custom made shooting game, and its alot of fun! You can customize the playable characters, the Inklings down to gender, clothing, and weapons. So this game is basically about shooting turf or enemies with ink instead of bullets. You refill your ink by turning into a squid and moving in ink thats your color. If you move in ink thats not yours you'll be immobilized then get splatted. Splatoon looks and sounds great. From the first time you play you feel like your in a gaming community. Theres tons to do, especially online. I still havent gotten to level 10 yet but you can play turf war at lower levels to gain experience points. The more turf you get the more of a reward you get. If you win you get even more. They even give you a little squid minigame to play while you wait in a lobby. Offline multiplayer isnt as fun...its a 2 on 2 affair...instead of 4vs4 like online. However, the single player campaign helps you hone your skills and get better. Its ...

Album Review: Joe Budden All Love Lost

Joe Budden completes his love lost trilogy with this album. He tells stories really well here. That’s nothing new for Joe, but its really on point here and it doesn’t get tiresome. He’s really introspective on these tracks. There’s not many guests either, just Jadakiss to name one. Overall its very similar to Some Love Lost, but its better in most every way. The last song F*** Em All is a  nice change of pace, as is Slaughtermouse. The verdict: 9/10.

Album Review: Raekwon Fly International Luxurious Art

The Chef, Raekwon, has been one of my favorite rappers since 2009, and this album adds to that legacy. It’s not really cinematic like Only Built 4 Cuban Linx for example. The album is full of quality songs like Soundboy Kill It, 1 2 1 2, and I Got Money. The guest list is good too: Busta Rhymes, French Montana, Ghostface Killah(of course), Melanie Fiona, Estelle, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, and Snoop Dogg. The production, like most Chef cds is the weakest point. With this he proves he can stay relevant, in case you were doubting. Verdict is a 9/10.

Rap Regions II: Leaders of the new school vs. old School veterans

Rap Regions II Back in 2012, i made 4 blog posts about the rap regions. There was East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, and Dirty South. While all 4 coasts are still relevant today, I feel the landscape of rap has changed dramatically in just that short time. Now more than ever; rap has become less regional. Let's peep some of the new rappers from each region. and the vets. East Coast -The Eastside has been dominant for most of the last 20 years of rap. Artists like A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, Mac Miller are some nice rappers in this region. Of course they join a whole host of veteran rappers like Jay-z, Nas, Raekwon, Talib Kweli, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Joe Budden, and 50 Cent, just to  name a few. The East Coast has collaborated with the other coasts for a long time, but it seems you rarely here the classic E.C. sound anymore. J.Cole is more of an East Coast rapper style wise then dirty south, so he rounds out this roster. Dominant Rapper-J.Cole Fallen Rapper-50 Cent ...
