Best Rapper Ever Tournament Round 1 (Bracket B)

Seed 1)Jay Z vs. Seed 8)Jadakiss Flow: Both are great flowers but I feel Jigga gets the nod here. (10,0) Creativity: Tie. While Jay Z is great, Jada’s music is equally as creative. i.e. Neither rapper is extremely creative actually. (15,5) Storytelling: Hmm. Its another tie. I feel Jada is a decent storyteller. Jigga man isn’t a great storyteller so there. (20,10) Impact: A no brainer Jay is a more impactful MC. Hell he’s the most in this bracket I think….maybe. (30,10) Collaboration: Tie. Before you cry foul, consider Jay isn’t always on point in his features…but then again, who is? Jada ties him here. (35,15) Versatility: HOVA might be the most versatile rapper in this tournament, so yeah. (45,15) Albums: More contestested than you think, but Jay wins again. Man Jada…. (55,15) Commercial Success: Not even close. HOVA baby!!!! (65,15) Jay Z wins with a wopping 65 points! Jada just got unlucky with the seeding I guess. Seed 2)Eminem vs. Seed 7)Pusha T Flow:...

Best Rapper Ever Tournament Round 1 (Bracket A)

Seed 1) Kanye West vs. Seed 8)Young Jeezy Flow: Both rappers have improved flows. I’m going to say that this is a tie. (5,5) Creativity: Kanye takes this easily. He’s one of the more creative rappers of all time. (15,5) Storytelling: This isn’t so clear cut, but again Kanye wins….. (25,5) Impact: I think this is a tie. Both rappers have been very influential to the game. While Kanye is more of a pop rapper, Jeezy is a trap rap founder. (30,10) Collab: I’m giving this one to Jeezy. He rarely ever never shows up as a guest artist on a track. (30,20) Versatility: I’m really feeling Kanye here. Both rappers are pretty versatile, but Mr. West is one of the most versatile rappers. (40,20) Albums: This one is rather clear cut, although Jeezy’s albums are all pretty damn good. Kanye’s albums are just overall better minus 808s and Heartbreak (50,20) Comm. Success: Well Jeezy sells well, but you know Kanye takes this one….he’s very commercially successful. (60,20) With 6...

My Thoughts (Sept 2017 Edition)

My Thoughts 2017(Sept. Edition) Hey y’all I’m back with another My Thoughts entry. I’m just going to give my opinion on various things going on in the world and my interests now. I gotta admit this has been a pretty decent year for music. I love albums from Logic, Lupe, Vince Staples, Tyler the Creator, David Banner(review coming eventually). I’m looking forward to a new album from Eminem of course. Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar also had great albums this year. R&B wise Kehlani has the album to beat although I admit I don’t listen to the whole thing that much. SZA is also dope af. Movie wise I’ve seen most of the movies I wanted to see in 2017. I saw Transformers V. It was my favorite movie of the year so far. Expect a review when I get it later this month. I loved Guardians of the galaxy 2. I didn’t care too much for Alien Covenant. Too graphic for my tastes…even tho I’ve seen every alien film hahah. King Kong SI was good too. Chips was funny af. Power Rangers was dece...

Album Review: Tyler the Creator- Flower Boy

Tyler has created the most cohesive album of his career…its really damn good! It’s softer sounding than Cherry Bomb….albeit I think lyrically Tyler has never been this poignant. I literally liked pretty much every song. There’s a good amount of guests here too, like Jaden Smith on “Potholes”. “Who Dat Boy” featuring A$AP Rocky is another banger. The Frank Ocean assisted “Where the Flower Blooms” might be the best tho. Ultimately, I really like the direction Tyler has taken his music since Wolf. This is a great f***ing album. Verdict: 9.5/10

Best Rap Albums of 2017 (1st Half)

1)Logic-Everybody (98) - Logic has the title right now as far as the best rap album of 2017. Why? The album is really honest, really straight forward, and oh yeah; sounds good af. Logic is black and white and he pretty much makes sure you know it. However, the skits are unnecessary. Great album and the one to beat for 2 nd half albums of 2017. 2)Kendrick Lamar: DAMN (97) -King Kendrick aka Kung Fu Kenny comes back in 2017 with an explosive album. Its also his most accessible. Ironically this is the weakest of the 3 major projects! K.dot flows effortlessly over the great production. A must listen to album for this year no doubt. 3)Jay Z-4:44 (97) -Great Hova blesses us in 2017 with this short album. It features a very vulnerable Jigga. A very apologetic Shawn Carter. I think that’s just we needed from him in 2017! The Story of O.J. will go down as one of his best songs. It’s a must cop. 4)Run The Jewels: Run the Jewels 3 (97) -I didn’t get this album until 2017, so I’m put...

Album Review: Gorillaz- Humanz

This is the first Gorillaz album I’ve reviewed…its pretty damn good too. The production is fire. The first 2 songs are highlights. One features Vince Staples, one of the leaders of rap’s new school. The hits just keep coming for the most part…I guess I didn’t know what to expect, but I expected a little more. The album is only 50 minutes long but it feels longer due to the high number of tracks. Its certainly a good album….don’t listen to the haters. Verdict: 8.8 Sorry for the lack of content...more reviews are coming guys
