Nas’s Life is Good [Deluxe Edition]

No Introduction: Nas takes you through his childhood and then brings you up to date…..its got a hot beat, and impeccable lyrics. He talks about his failed marriage with Kelis for the first time on the album.

8.5/10

Loco-Motive: Nas says “This is for my trapped in the 90s N*ggas”. It’s a well paced song with great delivery. I like the short chorus.

9/10

A Queens Story: Nas is at his finest when he’s storytelling, and he does a great job  on this song. This beat is epic….and it easily draws you in. The song ends with Nas talking about Accident Murderers which sets up the next track.

9.5/10

Accident Murderers: Nas is joined by Rick Ross who does a good job here. This beat is very layered and is just dope. The chorus is good but not as catchy as it probably should have been. The main theme of the song is that the killer killed by accident, “You ain’t mean to murk him, ya gun’s a virgin”

9/10

Daughters: This is a very good song about Nas’s daughter and “for my brothers”. This is a dope song right up there with “I Can” from God’s Son album. You don’t even have to have a daughter to relate to the message here.

9.5/10

Reach Out: Nas is joined by Mary J. Blige here and she does a great job on the chorus. The beat is fire too. This is not your typical Nas song but its very very catchy.

9.5/10

World’s An Addiction: Anthony Hamilton joins Nas here. He’s a good fit for the chorus. Nas storytells again as it seems only he can. This song has a very fitting mellow type of beat.

8.5/10

Summer On Smash: Swizz Beatz and Miguel join the rap legend here. The song is pretty catchy with its infectious beat. This is another song that took me my by surprise. “Life Is Good, Life is good”…hey it works.

8/10

You Wouldn’t Understand: This track has a sample I have heard before but man is it tight. Nas sets the record straight that “You wouldn’t last a day in my shoes”. Victoria Monet is great on the chorus.

9.5/10

Back When:
Nas pays homage to those who came before him. This song is pretty cool, with a tight sampled chorus. Nas goes at fake rappers here as well.

9/10

The Don: This song is really hot. The sample is perfectly used, but I’m pretty sure there’s only a few rappers that could of pulled off a dope song like this. “Nas the Don, Nas the don…..”

10/10

Stay: This song has that old school feel to it. Lyrically Nas continues to shine.

8/10

Cherry Wine: Amy Whinehouse’s chorus is just pure epic. This has got to be one of Nas’s best songs.

10/10

Bye Baby- This song is all about Kelis, Nas’s ex wife. Its well excuted, I like the slow beat. Nas disses someone who criticizes his failed relationship.

8.5/10

Nasty: The first of the bonus tracks is raw. I like the beat…it reminds me of an old school rap song.

9.5/10

The Black Bond: An interesting bonus track….

7.5/10

Roses: A sad sounding song…..it’s good but doesn’t seem to fit the bonus track too well.

8/10

Where’s The Love:
A good track to close the album. Nas tells the story of his homies and the future. The chorus is really good

8/10

Overall I give this album 4.75/5 Stars

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...

My Top Video Games of all time

I've done plenty of music lists, so i think its time to pay homage to my top video games of all time. I'm only going to mention games i've played. So, if a game you like is not up here(which I guarantee a few wont be) let me know. Lets get into it.... 1)       The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time- I have praised this game so many times, and it’s all well deserved. Ocarina has great controls and the graphics were nice at the time. I really love the story, and how the game is paced. You do a side quest of some kind, which generally isn’t long, then you go to a dungeon, get an item, use that item to get further in the dungeon, then beat the boss. Ocarina is, the best Zelda, and as of right now I don’t think that’s up for discussion. There are some really good Zelda games though such as Wind Waker, ALTTP(which made my list), and some others. 2)       Final Fantasy X- Final Fantasy X….is the only FF I’ve beaten, and I’ve played F...
