My Thoughts: What makes 4 these rap albums the best ??

Wassup y'all. I was just looking at my list of Best Rap Albums ever reviewed(no need to look at it it's very dated). I was thinking of what makes a these 4 rap albums the best I've ever heard. Thats right they are 100 rated albums or 10/10. They arent the only ones, but man are they excellent. I'm going to break down the four.

Jay Z: The Blueprint
(2001)
This is Jay's best album, although Reasonable Doubt is technically just as good score wise. BP1 is incredibly well executed from both a lyrical standpoint and production wise. Jay was in top form here. He was closse tying this one with Black Album but nope. Its one of those albums where I can truly hit the shuffle button and just let it play. I guess you could say that about all four of these albums.

Kanye West: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
(2010)
If you've been around, then you know I love this album. While I do not feel this is the album we should remember Kanye for; I do feel its his best. It's over the top and controversial. While the production is absolutely incredible; Kanye's lyrics are his best here. You can truly put this album on shuffle and it tells the same dark and beautiful tale. College Dropout and Late Registration just aren't quite on this one's level.

The Notorious B.I.G. Ready to Die
(1994)
I've given you two more contemporary albums, now it's time for 2 old school ones. Biggie's debut album is just straight up perfect. His lyrics and delivery are almost unrivaled. The Bad Boy production is also great. Life After Death is dope too, but this one has NO FILLER. I remember listening to this album alot when I first heard in 2005...and it still holds up in 2017.

Nas: Illmatic
(1994)
Confession: I do not own the original Illmatic, instead I own the 10 and 20 year anniversary albums. Now Illmatic is constantly called the best rap album, and its easy to see why. Nas's lyrics are just awesome and the stories he tells are great also. The production is just varied enough to make each song stand out. The album is really fun to listen to. I'm not going to say its better than any of the other albums on this post, but it is Nas's best over Stillmatic and Life is Good.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Video Game Review: Jedi Fallen Order

I meant to review this game way back in the day when I first beat it but this is coming after my 2nd play-through. This time I played the game on hard difficulty and man was it tough. Compared to Jedi Survivor I think the game has a better story. You join Jedi padawan Cal Kestis as he escapes a scrapyard planet Bracca , fleeing from the Empire. Cal comes face to face with an Inquistor called 2nd sister. You end up fighting her a total of 4 times in the game.  The main story is Cal must help a former Jedi named Cere and her pilot Greez to find a Jedi holocron that has a list of force sensitive children to rebuild the Jedi Order. I gotta say the planets you visit are all for the most part pretty flushed out . I found Zeffo to be the main planet and navigating it is truly awful. Well I’m glad they made navigation better in Jedi Survivor. Of all the planets Dathomir (Darth Mauls planet) was by far the worst. There was tough enemies around every corner there and hard boss fights w...

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...
