Music Review: Kid Cudi-Man on the Moon II The Legend of Mr. Rager

Kid Cudi-Man on the Moon 2

Track by Track Review

This album wasn't quite as good as the first one, but its good nonetheless

Scott Mescudi vs. The World: A great album opener. Cee-lo provides a great chorus. I love this intro because it gives you a feel for the whole album. Kid Cudi raps boastfully, “whattup how’s everyone doing, you are now in the world I’m ruling.”

9/10

REVOFEV: I still don’t know what this song’s title means, but this is one addictive track. Cudi takes on the big brother role for the kids. Cudi does his “WHOAwhoaaa” on the chorus. “Let’s go I heard they found a solution, where will you be for the revolution”.

9.5/10

Don’t Play This Song: Here’s another hot song. Mary J. Blige assists him on the hook. “Pain, hurt, sadness, and loneliness”….its a sympathetic yet sad type of song. KC looks like he’s perfected his sound.

9/10

We Aite(Wake Your Mind Up): An interlude of sorts. It’s ok. It sounds like there’s a crowd behind him.

7/10

Marijuana: Cudi raps about that Mary Jane. The song is slower, but KC’s lyrics are on point. The chrorus and beat are tight too. The subject matter seems a little lame though.

8/10

Mojo So Dope: KC has a lot attitude on this dope track. Kid Cudi raps about how he didn’t fall to the dope game. The song has kind of slow kinda intense feel to do it.

9/10

Ashin Kusher: I really like his flow on this song. “I really don’t worry about a ni*** tryin to judge, who are you? JUDY?” The beat is hot and KC continues to craft his rhythmic sound.

9.5/10

Erase Me: The lead single. The beat is fueled by guitars and KC is joined by Kanye West who raps a tight verse. This song is ultimately about a lost love and KC rubbing it in a girl’s face.

10/10

Wild’n Cuz I’m Young: A very rough kind of song. It’s not really melodic at all. Cudi’s rhymes are pretty nice across a creepy, mellow beat.

8.5/10

The Mood: This song has eerie laughter in it. What it is a description of KC getting his mack on. It’ turned into a creepy track. KC’ flow stands out on this track.

9.5/10

MANIAC: The chorus is hot “Paint the walls blacker”. Kid Cudi and the guest rapper do a nice job setting the stage for this really dark track. “I like the dark, maybe we can make it darker, give me a marker” KC raps. “I am the maniac I am the fool, I found a monster when I lost my cool”.

10/10

Mr. Rager: A happier sounding song. Mr. Rager is off on an adventure. The chorus and beat are really cool here.

8.5/10

These Worries: A sorrowful song. KC is joined again by Mary J. Blige. The song has a really cool beat.

8.5/10

The End: KC is joined by another rapper. This song is about death. This is a pretty tight song. “I’ll never do it again…I’ll never do it again, cause this is the end.”

8/10

All Along: A kinda cheerful song. He’s saying he dreams reality, and all along he was meant to be alone. The song is somewhat boring….but not bad

7/10

GHOST!: This song is really fascinating. It has a great beat, and KC’s sound is refined with the sharp beat, and his singing fits the song. KC raps about things in life coming around and troubling him.

8.5/10

Trapped in My Mind: The song has a very complex beat. It’s a good song, but I feel GHOST! Would have been a better album closer.

8/10

This is a really good album. I'll give Mr. Cudi 9/10

My Top Rappers of All Time List

30) Rick Ross (7.7) Essential Album: Teflon Don Starting off the list is Ricky Rossay. Ross has great delivery and a lot of good albums. He scores really high in the versatility category. Ross’s pen game has definitely gotten better from when he debuted in 2006 with Port of Miami. Ross’s biggest flaws were his storytelling and impact. Otherwise solid MC.     29) Young Jeezy (7.8) Essential Album: The Recession Another dirty south MC. Jeezy is one of my favorite rappers. He has a lot of good albums with no real duds. He does have the best ad libs in the game. His collaboration and versatility are high. He really brings the heat on his features. Storytelling and Impact weren’t that high but hey; hes tied with the next rapper.   28) Nicki Minaj (7.8) EA: The Pinkprint Arguably the most dominant female rapper of all time. Nicki really shines when features on others tracks. She usually steals the show like on Kanye West’s “Monster” song. She’s also really versatile; able to sing also and

My Favorite R&B Albums (as 2023 list)

Here are my favorite R&B albums. I'm not gonna do the countdown....I'm just going to list them. The last time I did a list like this was 2013. 1.       Rihanna-Good Girl Gone Bad- As her best album and the album that made her a star…it’s only right that as my favorite singer Rihanna takes the title. GGGB isn’t a perfect album but I love it. There’s a little something for everyone here. The smooth “Lemme Get That”, the party anthem “Don’t Stop the Music”, and the jam “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z. “Hate that I love You” featuring Ne-Yo is really good too. This album is just always a blast to listen to. 2.       Amerie-In Love & War- When I made this list about 10 years ago, this was the number one album. I love this album so much. I was considering her “Because I Love it” album for this list too, but I don’t really go back to that one that much. This album is just a flamethrower of R&B execution. That first half is great with songs like : “Heard Em All”, “Why R U”, and

My Favorite Rap Albums (As of 2024) List

1.       Kanye West-Graduation -Coming in at number one we have Kanye’s 3 rd  album. Sure it’s not his best or flashiest but damnit I love it so much. Listening to this album just gives me so much joy honestly. “Champion” is a great song, then there’s a fan favorite pick “I Wonder”. I do think the lyrically dense “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” is the best track. Who could forget the smooth “Flashing Lights”. It really amazing that Kanye was able to create another great soundscape that sounded very different than College Dropout and Late Registration. Honestly this album isn’t my favorite by leaps and bounds over the top 10; but its certainly still my favorite rap album. 2.       Ludacris-Word of Mouf- Coming in at number 2 is Ludacris. I think this album is his best while others may say Release Therapy or Chicken & Beer. Fun fact this was the first album I ever bought. Sure there’s some filler…but this album has a lot of Ludacris’s best tracks on it. There’s “Rollout”, “Move Bitch”, “Area
