Rap's Mount Rushmore

So i know y'all have been waiting for my Rap Mount Rushmore for a while....So im going to give you my picks and explain why I picked them. Of course you're free to disagree, but know this....these are my 4 rappers that I like and feel deserve these spots. There is no order but lets get into it.....

Spot #1- Jay-z
Believe it or not, Jay is the 1st rapper that came to my mind. I thought about maybe giving this spot to The Notorious B.I.G. but Biggie just doesn't have that much material. All 4 of the rappers i picked have lots of albums. Ok back to Jay-z. Jigga has been so successful and so consistent for the most part. Its just hard to imagine the rap game without Shawn Carter. For one his albums are all pretty good. Jay can make any type of song; from club bangers, to introspective songs, to love songs.
Personally Jay has been one of the reasons I started to like rap a lot. So he has surely earned his spot on my Mt. Rushmore of Rap. I feel Jay's best albums are Blueprint 1, Reasonable Doubt, then the Black Album.

Spot #2-Nas
Now i picked Nas for a lot of reasons, and I was contemplating puttin 2 Pac here instead. However I feel these 2 match up well, but I have always liked Nas more so there you go.  Nas is an impeccable lyricist. Not only that but he's arguably rap's best storyteller. Nas has some classic albums under his belt.....i think the best 3 albums he's put out are Illmatic, Stillmatic, and Life Is Good. You can poke holes in my album list, it doesn't matter.

Spot #3-Kanye West

Kanye is one of my favorite rappers, if not my favorite all time. Im not gonna rant about his arrogance but Kanye is, i think, the most creative rapper of all time. He is a great producer of course, which has helped him have a unique sound. Kanye lyrically, much improved from College Dropout days, but he hasnt seemed to be improved from 2010....I think My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is his best album, but i like Graduatin the most.....

Spot #4-Eminem

The White boy is no joke. He's an incredibly entertaining rapper. His music is almost always very introspective. Sometimes tho, he's just a beast on the mic, with a lyrical flow that makes him unique. I'd say that early on Em's career that he was more creative, but now hes much more focused on trying to be the best rapper ever.  His best albums in my opinon are THe Marshall Mathers LP and then its up in the air after that.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...

Tech Review: Iphone Air

I have only had this phone for over a week but I feel the need to review it. I recently got a 512gb light gold iPhone Air. This phone is so thin. You really have to hold it for yourself to believe it. I knew when I used it at a local Best Buy I had to have it. The phone is also a modern marvel having most of the technology in the camera bump. Of course you're wondering about that camera and battery life.  Honestly the battery is decent. It gets me through the day at work with minimal charging ( I mean who goes somewhere with no charger anymore?). The camera is good too. I'm not a huge camera guy anyways. The phone's 6.5 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display is great. I really notice a difference from my old phone (iPhone 12). The phone doesn't really get that hot either which is great. One thing I'm not a huge fan of is the one speaker on the phone....but honestly it's not that bad. I usually use headphones anyways. Apple Intelligence is still in beta but I think ...
