Ludacris’ Discography
Ludacris is one of
the best dirty south rappers. Here’s a look at his discography.
Battle of the Sexes: Luda’s
poorly executed concept album. There are just so many things wrong with this
album. There’s a bit too many guests. They include Flo-Rida, Lil Kim, Ne-Yo,
Lil Scrappy, Trey Songz, Monica, Nicki Minaj, and Shawna. The only real
memorable songs are Can’t Live Without You, My Chick Bad and its remix, and How
Low…Sexting is a fun song too.

Theater of the Mind: Luda’s
2008 album was a step in the right direction. He’s having fun, but at the same
time showing off his lyricism. T.I. joins him as one of the many effective
guest spots. He’s joined by Nas and Jay-z on I Do It For Hip Hop….and Luda
holds his own. Even Chris Rock stops by on Everybody Hates Chris. This is Luda’
s latest great album…which is not good. He needs to make another hot song.

Release Therapy:
Luda’s 2006 outing isn’t his best, but its not that bad either. It’s a mix of a
lot of different kind of songs, but some still end up sounding too similar.
Runaway Love, a song about your women running away from bad situations, puts
him in 2Pac’s territory. While Woozy and End of the Night puts him in his own
lane. The album also features War With God, which disses an unknown rapper.
Money Maker and Girls Gone Wild are pretty fun tracks.

The Red Light
District: This is a good album with a couple songs that don’t do anything
for it. On the plus side Number One Spot and Get Back get the album off to a
great start. Luda keeps it real on Large Amounts and Hopeless. The album has
really good production also, Child of the Night featuring Nate Dogg is also
really good. Virgo featuring Nas and Dougie Fresh is also a lot of fun.

Chicken & Beer:
This is arguably Luda’s best album. Its got just about everything you should
expect from a Luda album. The album features one of the best rap songs for the
ladies, Splash Waterfall. Its got a great party song in the Kanye West produced
Stand Up. I really like Hip Hop Quotables and We Got, the later featuring
Chingy. Overall it’s a great album but I’m not saying its his best.

Word of Mouth: My
favorite Luda album is has more hits on it than most albums. Believe it or not,
this was the first album I ever bought. Its dope on so many levels. Its loaded
with hits like Saturday, Area Codes, Move Bi***, and Rollout, which is arguably
his best song. Freaky Thangs is a bit much, but its an effective song for the
ladies which features Jagged Edge and Twista. Cold Outside might be the most boring
track, while the last song Block Lockdown, has Welcome to Atlanta with Jermaine
Dupri as a hidden bonus track.

Back for the First
Time: Luda came out of the gates with a
somewhat very impressive album. Its got some really good songs like one of my all-time
favorite Southern Hospitality. Luda drops a lot of punchlines left and right,
but only about 65% of the album is really all that great. What Your Fantasy and
its remix are a ton of fun. Phat Rabbit is dope, and HO is a funny song.
