4) Till the Casket Drops (88)-A lot of people don’t like this album but it’s honestly pretty good. The production is pretty damn good, and the bars are good too. Clipse have seemed better on the mic tho lyrically. “Popular Demand” with Cam’ron is fire. I think “Kinda Like a Big Deal” with a prime Kanye West is the best song however. I like the feel of the club track “Eyes on Me” featuring Keri Hilson. Keri sounds kinda odd on this song tho. The album closer “Life Change” is great too. There are a few songs that are kinda average tho here. Favorite Song: Kind of Like a Big Deal.
3) Lord WIllin’(93)- I kinda grew up with this album. The 2 Virginia brothers did the state proud with this album. The album gets off to a great start with songs like “Young Boy”, “Virginia”, “Cot Damn” and the anthemic “Grindin’”. “Ma I Don’t Love Her” featuring Faith Evans is the song for the ladies. The production outshines the lyrics by a little bit. However this is a pretty well balanced album. After the great “When the Last Time” the album slows down a little bit. However it ends strong with “I’m Not You” and 2 remixes of “Grindin’”. Fav Song: Grindin’
2) Let God Sort Em’ Out (95)- This may be the best rap album of 2025. It was a true joy to listen to. Lyrically, bar for bar, this is as good as Pusha T and Malice have been on their group albums. The first four songs are all amazing. “The Birds Don’t Sing” is so soulful and heartfelt as they pay homage to their parents who passed away. “Chains and Whips” has a killer Kendrick Lamar feature. I think Tyler the Creator does great on “P.O.V.”. The beat on “So Be It” is truly epic. I feel this could have been their best album if the beats were a little better overall….The album goes hard and Pharrell does pretty well on the hooks. Fav Song: So Be It.
1) Hell Hath No Fury (97)- The magnum opus of the Clipse discography. I originally had it scored a lot lower, but it has aged well. There isn’t a weak song here….Lyrically its great and that production tho. Neptunes were in their bag here. The singles “Mr. Me Too” and “Wamp Wamp (What We Do)” are amazing. I really like “Hello New World” and “Ain’t Cha” as well. “Dirty Money” is the song dedicated to the ladies and it has a nice bounce to it. The album ends on a high note too with “Nightmares”. In retrospect I guess this album tied for rap album of the year in 2006 with T.I.’s King album. Favorite Song: Wamp Wamp (What We Do).
