6) Tha Carter VI: It’s no secret the latest Carter album is the worst. Most of these songs are pretty mid to bad. What was he thinking on “Peanuts 2 N Elephant”? I kinda like “Cotton Candy” with 2 Chainz. “Welcome to Tha Carter” is great. I liked “Hip-Hop” which featured BigXthaPLug. “Island Holiday” and “If I Played Guitar” were very bad tho. Overall you can see why many said Wayne was washed in 2025.

5)Tha Carter: I gotta admit I haven’t listened to this one that much. It’s fun to hear a pretty young Wayne here. He’s not as refined here but he’s still pretty good. I love “Bring It Back” and “Go DJ” helped put him on the map. “I Miss My Dawgs” and “Cash Money Millionaires” was good too. Overall yeah its a decent album.

4)Tha Carter V: I’ve listened to this album all the way through only a few times. The album is very top heavy imo. There’s some really great songs here like “Dedicate” and “Uproar”. Weezy’s mic presence is pretty good here. I love the storytelling of “Mona Lisa” with Kendrick Lamar. The last song “Let It All Work Out” is very thoughtful too. Yeah this album took a long time to come out but it was worth the wait.

3)Tha Carter IV: This album has aged well as I wasn’t too high on it back in 2011. Sure there is filler….but there’s a lot of good songs here. There’s a beat that continues on the Intro, Interlude, and Outro. All 3 songs are fire…but the Interlude doesn’t even feature Lil Wayne. It’s got Tech N9ne and Andre 3000. The Outro feature Bun B, Nas, Shane, and Busta Rhymes…No Wayne again lol. But Wayne shines on songs like the anthemic “6 Foot 7 Foot “and “John”. The latter features a great feature from Rick Ross. The former features Corey Gunz. “Mirror featuring Bruno Mars is good too.

2)Tha Carter II: I gotta admit I rated this album a little low when I first reviewed it. I really think this is the album that put respect on Lil Wayne’s name. There’s serious heat here. “Fireman” is well…fire…lol. My personal favorite is “Best Rapper Alive” where Wayne does really well. There’s other great tracks here too like “Hustler Musik”.I really like “Feel Me” too. “Shooter” with Robin Thicke is a major win. “Grown Man” is for the ladies and its passable. But yeah I wouldn’t be mad at anyone that had this album #1. It’s that good.

1)Tha Carter III: As great as Carter II was I do feel Wayne peaked with the third one. This album was just a great moment for the culture. This album gets off to a great start with “3 Peat”. Then you’ve got a terrific song “Mr. Carter” with Jay-Z. I think Jay-Z got the better of him here….”A Milli” is super catchy! I really like his creativity on “Dr. Carter” where he’s a Hip Hop dr. Attempting to save rapper’s careers. Genius stuff man. On “Tie My Hands” with Robin Thicke he really connects with his audience as he raps about the Katrina and New Orleans. The weakest song besides the last song “Don’t Get It” is probably “Playing With Fire”. I’ve really always liked “Lollipop” feat. Static Major. It sounded good in 2008…sounds good today. So yeah this is terrific album with few flaws.
