Lupe -Lasers: Track by Track Review

Lasers

Letting Go- A pretty mellow track. Lupe speaks of inner conflict. The chorus is nice, and the beat fits pretty well.  8/10

Words I Never Said- Lupe gets right into some conspiracy stuff and he also speaks his mind on Presidenet Obama as well as some other things. The song has a hot beat and a great chorus. 9/10

Till I Get There- Lupe speaks introspectively about his experiences. The beat is decent, and I really like the chorus. He seems to be struggling with stardom on this song. 8/10

I Don’t Wanna Care Right Now- A really cool song….Lupe turns it up a little bit lyrically here. The chorus fits right in. The beat has some nice flashy elements to it. 9/10

Out of My Head- Lupe is joined by Trey Songz for the first time. Trey’s chorus really makes the song, Lupe’s verses aren’t that bad though, but they’re a little dumbed down from his usual greatness. 7/10

The Show Goes On- This song seems to have everything going for it. It’s inspirational and Lupe verses are on point. I love the chorus and beat too. “When times is hard you stand up” 9.5/10

Beautiful Lasers (2 Ways)-another pretty mellow song. This one isn’t that uplifting though. The beat is cool but the chorus is nothing special. 6/10

Coming Up- Lupe channels some Pac on this one…I like the chorus, and the message of the song…but it just seems rather out of Lupe’s style. Lupe spits hope to young females.

State Run Radio- Lupe is joined by Matt Mahaffey here. The chorus is hot, and the song has some good pacing. Lupe raps more about the struggle of people these days. 7.5/10

Break the Chain- This is one of the albums better songs. Lupe raps about freedom here. The beat is epic, and the chorus is awesome. 8.5/10

All Black Everything- The albums best song. ABE is about if slavery didn’t happen among other things…like the civil war. Its like a world backwards. “President Bush sends condolences from Iran…where Amahdenijad wins the all black people peace prize”. Its essentially about a world with no racism. The singing the background is awesome and for once on the album does everything fit up to Lupe’s standards. 10/10

Never Forget You- Lupe is joined by John Legend on this one.. This song isn’t all that but its optimistic and JL does a nice job. Not a bad way to close the album.

Overall this isnt a bad album...I'll give it a 3.5/5 stars....good job mr. Fiasco.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Video Game Review: Jedi Fallen Order

I meant to review this game way back in the day when I first beat it but this is coming after my 2nd play-through. This time I played the game on hard difficulty and man was it tough. Compared to Jedi Survivor I think the game has a better story. You join Jedi padawan Cal Kestis as he escapes a scrapyard planet Bracca , fleeing from the Empire. Cal comes face to face with an Inquistor called 2nd sister. You end up fighting her a total of 4 times in the game.  The main story is Cal must help a former Jedi named Cere and her pilot Greez to find a Jedi holocron that has a list of force sensitive children to rebuild the Jedi Order. I gotta say the planets you visit are all for the most part pretty flushed out . I found Zeffo to be the main planet and navigating it is truly awful. Well I’m glad they made navigation better in Jedi Survivor. Of all the planets Dathomir (Darth Mauls planet) was by far the worst. There was tough enemies around every corner there and hard boss fights w...

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...
