My Favorite R&B singers [2012 Edition]

1)      Usher (4)- Usher gets the top spot. He has been a favorite artist of mine for a long time. He really came hard with Raymond V. Raymondā€¦then he followed that up with Lookin 4 Myself. Usher is a veteran, and seems to make hits at will. Heā€™s had some good features on other artists tracks as well. I donā€™t know how long he will be the king of R&B but for now ā€œwatch the throneā€

2)      Rihanna (11)- I still consider Rihanna an R&B artistā€¦and she has been on a tear lately. She jumps 9 spots with great albums Loud and Talk that Talk. Both albums are great and I love her new style. I donā€™t see Rihanna going up but I think sheā€™ll be in the top 5 for a long time. Rih Rih is sexy!

3)      Alicia Keys (5)- Alicia hasnā€™t really done a whole lot since releasing her 2009 album(Element of Freedom)ā€¦but sheā€™s always been so consistent and thus she claims the #3 spot. I am really looking forward to her next album.

4)      Trey Songz (10)-Trey has moved up 6 spots and its no secret why. His albums have been very good,(even including Chapter V, yes ive heard it). His powerful vocals are signatureā€¦In the future he may be #1 or #2. Heā€™s still got some potential left. VA Stand UP!

5)      Ne-Yo (1)- Once my top ranked artist, heā€™s fallen off a bit. His 2010 album wasnā€™t all that great, but hey im not sayin it was bad. Ne-yo will hopefully stay in the top 10ā€¦.he made my favorite R&B song ever(Sexy Love).

6)      Beyonce (12)-Beyonce is a forceā€¦and everybody knows it. I didnā€™t think her 2011 album 4 was all that but still sheā€™s made some great music, even when u donā€™t go back to Destinyā€™s Child. Beyonceā€™s position has jumped 6 spots but she doesnā€™t quite top the top 5.

7)      Amerie (2)-Amerie used to be my favorite female artistā€¦and to some extent she still is. However she hasnā€™t been very relevant these daysā€¦still 2 near classic albums and 1 classic(In LOVE & WAR) gits her into the top 10..still. I love ya Amerie, keep makin music!

8)      Melanie Fiona (New) ā€“ Its funny I had no idea who she was until I stumbled across her 2nd album. Both her albums are exceptionalā€¦I feel Melanie is just getting started, Damn that woman can sing!!

9)      The Dream (6)- The ā€œAmericanā€ Dream aka. Mr. Nash has been a really consistent songwriter and artist. His 3 albums are really good also. Iā€™m a little concerned that he wont make another album, but he probably just doesnā€™t want to rush the next album.

10)  Frank Ocean (New)- Where did this guy come fromā€¦.oh yea from that crazy rap groupā€¦.hahah. Anyway I really enjoyed Frankā€™s debut album channel Orangeā€¦but hes also ranked at 10 because of some key guest spots(No Church in the Wild). I look forward to more music from him.

11)  Janelle Monae (New)- Janelle is a really unique artist. Her first official album was a near classic, with lots of varying sounds and a unique concept. I look forward to more music from her. I think when its all said and done she will be in my top 5.

12)  Mariah Carey (7)- Iā€™ve been a fan of Mariah Carey since 2005. Her music has gotten better since then(Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel). However she hasnā€™t really done much since then so she wonā€™t be in the top 10 this time around. Nick Cannon is a lucky man!!

13)  John Legend (16)-John Legend has always been a favorite artist of mine. His singing style is old school and I think thatā€™s what makes him stand out so much. His first 2 albums were both near classics.

14)  Toni Braxton (New)- Toni Braxton is a  legend, but I didnā€™t listen to her albums until say around 2010ā€¦.which is after I made the last list. Her first 3 albums are incredible and vocally I love her range.

15)  Chris Brown (Same)-Chris Breezy gets the final spot on the list. He has been one of my favorites despite a very poor album this year(Fortune). Thereā€™s no denying that CB is a force in R&B as I noticed he was on almost everyoneā€™s albums over the past year and a half or so.

Album Review: Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign-Vultures 1

This album review is way overdue. I've had a long time to sit with the album....I really liked it at first but it hasn't really aged as well as other Kanye projects. Kanye's lyricism has taken a noticeable decline. I mean hes not horrible but alot of these bars are bad or tasteless. Ty Dolla $ign on the other hand does a great job on pretty much every track. The production though, as with most Kanye albums is really good.   Some of it was reminiscent of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy or Yeezus. There are a few guest spots and most are well used. Hearing Kanye's daughter, North West, on "Talking"is cute. Freddie Gibbs steals the show on the hilarious "Back to Me". "Carnival" is a certified hit which features Playboi Carti & Rich the Kid. Overall most of these songs are good but I cant say this really adds much to Kanye's illustrious discography. Lyrics 19 Beats 23 Depth 22 Tilt 21 Verdict 85

Album Review: Kid Cudi-Insano (regular version)

I gotta admit I didn't like this album that much when I first heard it over half a year ago. I've heard that Kid Cudi doesn't exactly play to his strengths....that's partly true. I do like his rapping here tho. Honestly most songs here kinda blend together....."Keep Bouncin'" is really hype....and it gets the album off to a good start. "At The Party" with Pharrell Williams and Travis Scott may be my favorite song. "Wow" with A$AP Rocky is another highlight. Overall tho I feel this album tries too hard to be trendy. Cudi needed to put more of his pain into it. I mean a happy Cudi album isn't a bad thing but it really seems odd to me. You're not getting alot of singing or hums here know what I mean? However the production I found to be very good. Cudi is one of my favorite rappers like top 20 and I guess this will do for 2024. Lyrics 20 Beats 23 Depth 21 Tilt 21 Verdict 85

Video Game Review: Jedi Survivor

About a week ago or so I beat Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Im so happy I got a chance to play it cause they put it on PS4....yes I sadly as of early 2025 do not have a PS5 yet. But anyways I thought the game was considerable improvement over Jedi Fallen Order in most ways.  The game is set a few years after the end of the first game. One thing I like is you keep all your Jedi techniques from the first game Jedi Fallen Order. You can force push and pull and double jump right from the jump. Early in the game you also get access to a new lighstaber form dual wield. In this game there are 5 lightsaber forms. Single is good in any situation but not the best for ideal situations. I think double bladed has good defense but low range. Dual wield is fast but has low defense. Later on you get access to a blaster form which has great range. Then there's the Cross-guard which is Kylo Ren's lightsaber form...its slow in this game but has high damage and defense to it. The enemy variety in the...
