My NBA Playoffs 2013 recap

NBA Playoffs 2013

It was an interesting season this year in the NBA, but I will focus on the playoffs.

Round 1

The round one matchups were pretty predictable, for the most part. I’ll start with the West and work my way to the East. The Thunder wupped the Rockets, but they lost Westbrook, which really hurt them.

The Spurs beat my beloved Lakers. I mean the Lakers were too injured to fight a team so formidable. The Warriors upset the Nuggets, which I was glad to see. The Grizzlies beat the Clippers in just 6 games surprisingly. The Clippers seemed to be better than last year, but so were the Grizz.

In the East, Miami destroyed the Bucks which was no surprise to me. The Knicks beat Boston in a touch 6 game series. I think if the Celts would have had Rondo they would have won that one series.

The Pacers went back and forth with the Hawks but beat them in 6. The Bulls and the Nets went 7 and the Bulls won. I wanted the Nets to win cause I knew the injured Bulls couldn’t beat the Heat…..could the Nets? Probably not.

Semifinals

The Grizzlies wupped the Thunder in just 5 games. I was surprised that the West champs would go out so easily…but the Grizz played tough D. The Spurs managed to beat the Warriors in 6. I think that series was well played but the Spurs were too tough.

The Heat lost Game 1 to the Bulls but they won 4 in a row rather easily after that. The Pacers upset the Knicks in 6…..I picked the Pacers to win that series so it didn’t surprise me.

Conference Finals

Okay I rooted against the Spurs and the Heat in this round. The Spurs destroyed the Grizz. I really don’t think the Grizz had enough outside scoring…..just like the crippled Lakers. Spurs proved they could play great Defense. The Heat were taken to the limit against Indiana but they honestly couldn’t win after losing game one. If only they had one game one lol.

Finals

In the finals, I rooted for the Spurs. It seems like they could have won the series. They were up 3-2 in game 6. To me they blew it….and now the Heat are back to back champs. Just like my Lakers did in 09 and 010. Lebron took his talents to South Beach and got 2 rings, but I think he’s done getting them. 3 straight trips to the finals doesn’t happen often.

Album Review: Schoolboy Q-Blue Lips

Ok I am a big Schoolboy Q fan. I gotta say I love this album...but believe it or not what kept me from getting it till fall 2024 was that horrendous album artwork lol. I mean damn its gross! Schoolboy has some great flows and lyricism on this album. "Thank god 4 me" is absolute flames. "Blueslides" is another highlight. There's something about the song "first" that is just so catchy to me. "Yern" is also pretty hard man. The guest list is minimal but it works. The production is really good here too. The album isn't quite as good as Blank Face to me but its definitely a major improvement over his last album Crash Talk. Definitely check this one out. Lyrics 24 Beats 23 Depth 23 Tilt 23 Verdict 93

Video Game Review: Jedi Fallen Order

I meant to review this game way back in the day when I first beat it but this is coming after my 2nd play-through. This time I played the game on hard difficulty and man was it tough. Compared to Jedi Survivor I think the game has a better story. You join Jedi padawan Cal Kestis as he escapes a scrapyard planet Bracca , fleeing from the Empire. Cal comes face to face with an Inquistor called 2nd sister. You end up fighting her a total of 4 times in the game.  The main story is Cal must help a former Jedi named Cere and her pilot Greez to find a Jedi holocron that has a list of force sensitive children to rebuild the Jedi Order. I gotta say the planets you visit are all for the most part pretty flushed out . I found Zeffo to be the main planet and navigating it is truly awful. Well I’m glad they made navigation better in Jedi Survivor. Of all the planets Dathomir (Darth Mauls planet) was by far the worst. There was tough enemies around every corner there and hard boss fights w...

Album Review: Clipse- Let God Sort Em Out

Well I didn't rush this review, I've had some time to sit with this album. It's a hell of a comeback album. Pusha T and Malice are deadly as ever on the mic. The album lyrically is intense. Production is pretty good too but I expected slightly more from an album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. Speaking of Pharrell, he's all over this album...sometimes not just relegated to a hook. The album gets off to a great start with "The Birds Don't Sing" where both brothers talk about their parents who passed. Pusha T raps about his Mom. Malice about his dad. I really liked the vibe of "All Things Considered"; the The-Dream feature is good. That brings me to the features....like a monster one from Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips". Tyler the Creator does well on "P.O.V.". Nas is on the 2nd last track and he does well too. "M.T.B. T. T. F." is fire, and it stands for Mike Tyson Blow to the Face lol. Ultimately its h...
