My Favorite R&B Albums of All Time
30)Keyshia Cole-The Way It Is:
Keyshia Cole’s debut starts off the list. Keyshia’s vocals are strong
throughout. I really like “I Changed My Mind” which produced by Kanye West. I
got this album in 2006 I think, but I liked K.C. just off the singles she put
out at the time.
29)Usher-Raymond v. Raymond:I
picked this album over Here I Stand because to me it’s a little flahsier, and
more fun to listen to. The album’s first half is its better half. “Lil Freak”
is a certified banger….
28)Alicia Keys-The Diary of Alicia Keys:This
is the album that solidified Alicia as one of R&B’s elite artists. I
absolutely love the singles like “Diary”, You Don’t Know My Name, and “If I
Ain’t Got You”. I find “Karma” to be one of the best songs of her career.
27) Trey Songz-Chapter V: Trigga Trey’s latest album makes the list.
There’s lots of good songs throughout. It seems like he has his sound down to a
science. “Heart Attack”, “2 Reasons”, and “Bad Decisions” are some that stand out.
26) Chris Brown-Exclusive(The
Forever Edition)-I still consider this to be Chris’ best album. There’s an
allstar guest list: Kanye, Game, Lil Wayne, Big Boi, T-Pain, and even Keri
Hilson. The album has few average songs. Chris Breezy!
25) Trey
Songz-Ready: This is the album that really made Trey a big star. Its full
Of great choruses and decent beats.
“Yo Side of the Bed” and “Black Roses” are my favorite songs on the album. You
can’t forget about “LOLJ” and “Say Ahh” though.
24) Rihanna-Loud(Deluxe): Besides
Rated R, this is Rihanna ultimate Bad girl album. I love most every song. There’s
a good deal of versatility here as well. Guests include Drake, Nicki Minaj, and
even Eminem.
23) Ne-Yo-Year of the Gentlemen-His
3rd album is incredibly well done. There are no bad songs on it.
There’s club records, heartbreak songs, and even songs that well, worship women
lol.
22) Elle Varner-Perfectly Imperfect-
A fairly new entry. Elle is a very introspective, humble artist; you can really
hear that in her music. The album is great…I can’t wait for a next album from
her.
21) Alicia Keys-The Element of
Freedom-Alicia’s albums are all great, but I consider this one to be the most
balanced and cohesive. “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart” and “Love is Blind”
are both great additions to her catalogue.
