Rap Regions Tournament East Coast Bracket Finals

1)Nas vs. 2)The Notorious B.I.G.

1st Seed Nas: In Round 1 Nas defeated Ja Rule 5-1. In Round 3 he beat Jay-z 3-2.

2nd Seed Biggie: In R1 he beat Fabolous 5-0. In R3 he beat Ghostface Killah 4-2.

Flow: TIE. Both rappers have impeccable flow. You’re talking about 2 of the greatest MCs obviously I mean this is the final round. 1-1

Delivery: Biggie wins in this category. Nas is great but he really only raps one way. 1-2

Albums: Another tie. You knew this if you saw the Guidelines post. Sure Nas has way more albums, but Biggie’s 2 albums are just as great…. 2-3

Story: I love Biggie’s storytelling, he really was a complete rapper. Nas on the other hand had great songs like Rewind. It seems he might be the best storyteller in any region. Nas 3-3.

Legacy: Ah the tie breaker. Of course in this round this isn’t easy to call…Okay so Jay beat Nas in this category, and Jay copied Biggie, but regardless…I give this one to Nas. Sure he has way more material…but the dude has been impeccable since Illmatic basically.

Nas wins 4-3

Final Thought: Nas was the #1 seed barely. He eased threw the first round against Ja Rule, and advanced by default to face Jay-z winning 4-3. The final round was just as tough with another close win. When I think of Nas, I think consistency, I think storytelling and preaching. I think bars.

Doja Cat Albums Worst to Best

Doja Cat has been one of my favorite rapper/singers of the past few years. Let's see which albums are the best from her. 5) Amala (88)- Doja’s first album is honestly pretty damn good. You can tell she was still refining her sound tho on this. The last 3 songs “Juicy”, “Tia Tamera”, and “Mooo” are so good. “Candy” is another banger. The album is really well balanced being pretty much good in all areas but not really great in any tho. Favorite Track: Mooo. 4) Scarlet (90)- Believe it or not, this was an album I was on the fence about getting. I’m glad I got it. This is a rap heavy album but there’s still plenty of singing here and there. “Demons” and “F**k the GIrls” are Doja at her roughest. “Attention” was a great single. “Agora Hills” is a nice cute track. The monster single “Paint the Town Red” is the best track however. This album wa a big departure for her, but for the most part it paid off. Fav. Track Paint the Town Red. 3) Vie (92)- This was Doja returning to her pop roots,...

Video Game Review: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

I happened to beat this game recently for the first time in I was just in awe at how epic this game is. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake (which I played on the ps4). This game was a ps5 exclusive however. I know I needed a ps5 if I was gonna play it. And last year I made that happen. This is a continuation of the story of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barrett as they fight against the Shinra Corporation and the evil Sephiroth. I'll try not spoil much. When the game starts you play as Zack who is a solider like Cloud. You saw Zack at the end of Remake. Basically story wise there is another dimension in this game and you play as Zach in it here and there. There is a relationship meter that the main character Cloud has with every party member….answering certain questions one way or another will change the relationship. I found this to be a cool touch that the first game barely had any resemblance of. The game's graphics are outstanding and characters look ...

Album Review: Doja Cat-Vie

The much anticipated latest Doja Cat album! I was very curious to see where she'd go after the dark rap heavy Scarlet. The path she took was a 80s sounding pop album. It took a few listens for the album to click with me but yeah its awesome. Doja is in her zone here on this album. She sings a lot and acts as her own featured rap artist which is interesting. The first 3 songs are pretty strong. "Cards" is sultry. I love "Jealous Type" too (the lead single). "AAAH MEN!" might be my favorite song however. The production is great but maybe not the best she's ever had. I liked most every song. "Silly!Fun!" and "Come Back" are also excellent. As far as features go there's only SZA on " Take Me Dancing". So basically we have a very strong album here...but maybe not quite as good as Planet Her but it’s very close. Maybe I'll do a Doja Cat album ranking in the near future. She's been one of my favorite artists sin...
